Is there any way to edit the apks so that I can install them. It is for an android tv both apps would be very good for international streams of live channels.

[Q] apk from android market

hello i downloaded some free apps from the market with a friends rooted phone and backed them up using systemapp remover. i then mailed the apks to my mail address and downloaded them on my tab (which does not have access to the market), i then tried to install them everything looked alright but then i got the message: application not installed and that was for all three free apps from the market. do i have somehow manipulate them before i can install them? thanks for any tips
Maybe those free apps are not compatible with the tab's kernel?
You already said that you backed up those apps from a phone. Try getting a market app and then download them, they'll work.
Use gapps for gingerbread from the development section, and apply them using recovery.

Your apps might not be compatible with your Tab's Kernel.
I would suggest you to install Vending.apk (PlayStore app) first on your tab with the help of root manager and then see if it works or not or search the apps in tab section (PlayStore), follow the old steps and then see if it works.
Good luck!
Try installing the latest version of gapps

Is the phone you are installing these apps to rooted itself? I've had problems with USENET APK downloads in the past, but after rooting just about everything works. Not sure why though.
Out of curiosity, why not download the free apps directly yourself from the market instead of attemting a direct install?
many thanks to all for the tips. will try them in a few hours when its more quite at work.
the reason i can not install it from the market is that my device is not up to the specifications, its one of those hp zeen thingys, not a great tab at all but nice enough to play around with a bit. however what i will try is to install google play as it might work (the new market) but i doubt it, it had the old vending market on it but i removed since it was not working.
what i did also is that i moved those free market apps with root explorer to the tabs memory and try install it from there but it didn't work.
is it maybe because my device is not 'strong' enough for those apps? its just normal bus and train information apps....
and yes the tab is rooted

Application is not installed on your phone

Hi everyone,
I recently decided to convert some system apps to user apps so that I can greenify them with the free version of greenify.
Most of them were successful except for the following apps:
1. Hangouts
2. Music
3. Internet
4. Play Movies
I used the titanium backup feature to convert them. I did it for a bunch of others and they were all successful.
For the apps above that failed, I no longer see a directory for these apps in both /system/priv-app or data/app. They seem to have vanished?
I still have the shortcuts for these apps in my app drawer / home screen but they are the green android icon and when I click on them I receive the following error: Application is not installed on your phone
Would anyone be able to help me with this issue? phone is SM-G920W8 with android 5.02 rooted with cf auto root and TWRP custom recovery using stock rom.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: managed to install hangouts and play movies through the playstore as user apps and all is fine. Can anyone provide the stock music and internet apps for 5.0.2? thanks.

Android sign app as system app

Hello, I have a question, I already read like 20 Threads on here and still haven't found a solution.
I have developed an android application that only gets installed on selected devices (for example the Google Nexus Player (fugu)). The app relies on root permissions, currently I am using a rooted device with su, but I want to build it properly. I don't want to publish the app in the playstore, but is it possible to sign the application as a System Application with sharedid="uid.system" ? If so , how can I do that ?

Pixel 3

Why can't I install apks on my pixel 3. I can download them but as some as I tap install the phone reboots. It works from the play store and I have all the settings set that are required to install apks.
Is it possible that the issue was caused by some security app installed?
Or is the apk itself incompatible with this mobile phone?
I did not install any security apps. I tried to install about 5 apks and none of them worked. Why would the apks not be compatible with android? I have android 11 could that be a problem?

Note that you won't see incompatible apps when searching via Google Play on your Android smartphone or tablet. The apps that fail you probably downloaded from another source.

Where can I get the stock files app for Android 4.4.2?

On a Verizon Ellipsis 7 they didn't include the Files app. Rather than install some 3rd party file manager that has advertising and pay to use extra features, I'd like to just install the stock Android Files app.

Apkmirror website, but you need to know the exact package name of the apk to correctly identify exactly which app you want. You also need to make sure that you download a version that is made to work with your CPU architecture(Armv7, Armv8, Arm_64, etc...).
Also, Verizon may not have its own stock Files app, they might just use the standard Google "Files" app, if so, you can probably get it from Playstore.
Files by Google requires Android 5+
I found this which works. No in-app purchases, no ads. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/huawe...ger-6-31-30-03-android-apk-download/download/
Hmmmm CyanogenMod Files? hmmmmmmm
