Due to some hardware issue, my mate 7 do not connect to pc via usb cable. It shows usb not recognised.
I want to update to marshmallow. But I am on custom recovery. I want to flash stock rwcovery to update to mm. Is there any way to flash it without data cable.
If you can boot to recovery you could download the stock recovery on your phone and flash it. This way can also be used to flash the rom you want by the way, which can be found on the same page linked earlier

I have an Infuse 4g and I tried putting CyanogenMod on it...but I messed everything up. It won't turn on or go into Recovery mode. I can't use Ordin3 to unbrick it (if it is) because it won't turn on. The USB cable doesn't start charging it at all. I can give you guys any more info you need. I really need to fix this fast.
Bricked

I also have one of these.. maybe with all the members on here, we could build a wall.
You can unbrick it if you have fastboot on your pc.
First you have to be in bootloader mode, you can do that using volume down + power button (it may vary between android versions), then you plug in the usb cable and wait for the computer to install bootloader drivers. On win7 it's called android 1.0 when it's searching for drivers.
Then you flash boot and recovery images to the device using "fastboot flash (partition, specifically boot and recovery) (image location)".
After that you either restore a backup, or flash another rom through recovery.
But you shouldn't be able to boot current rom since it's incompatible.
Hello! I recently dropped my OPO and the screen cracked. The touch also stopped working. But except that, everything looked fine, to me at least. I ordered a new display and replaced it some days ago. Everything went alright, except when I reconnected the antenna cable... It was too short, so I tried to pull a little bit, and then the cable popped off. I'm going to find a solution to this, I'll see if it is possible to replace the antenna cable. Anyway, I put everything else together and started the phone. I was surprised to find out that I ended up in the recovery. I rebooted and I ended up in the recovery AGAIN! So I formatted the internal memory, transferred CM13 + stock Gapps to the phone, installed and booted. I ended up in my recovery, again. I began thinking that the recovery might be corrupt or something like that (TWRP). I tried booting to the bootloader, but ended up in the recovery, once again. These are the different methods I used, trying to reach the bootloader:
- Volume up + power button
- Recovery reboot options
- adb reboot bootloader
All of these methods brought me to the recovery. My goal is to reach the bootloader so fastboot works, and then use this tool to reset my phone. Do you guys have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
What recovery ? Twrp or stock ?
If you are in twrp there is option to boot into bootloader ,then you can flash firmware via fastboot or use otg port,
If you in stock , I think otg port can be used .

This is the problem... I am using TWRP, but even if I use the reboot options, which is booting into bootloader, I will only end up in the recovery anyway...
Any other idea?
There is no OS, so not booting. Use any compatible ROM via otg preferably COS 13 TWRP signed ROM ( no gapps needed ).
i have a nexus 5 used to run cm13. now only twrp.
when i wanted to instal a new rom, i deleted the old one(did full wipe, all options avileble in the twrp option), before realesing i had no new rom. i went to my computer to put a new rom on in. the my computer would not find my phone. which it used to do. drivers and everything are up to date. i tested it on multiple computers. even other computer where other nexus 5 did connect on.
since the nexus 5 does not support sd card or otg. so i can not put the file on any other way than trough my computer but since i cant connect it. i was hoping someone might now a way to get the file on my phone
tl;dr
-no rom only twrp
-no computer acces
When you connect the phone to the computer in recovery mode, are you mounting the required partitions?
It's not detected in fastboot either?

Twrp and nexus 5 both support otg I connect my external HDD every time .. Flash a custom ROM thru otg
I know twrp supports otg. I am not the OP.
Hey,
I own a WileyFox Storm that runs Cyanogen OS (kipper) as stock. A while back, I tried to root it, but failed so gave up. As it turns out, I forgot to get rid of the TWRP CR (which was an edition specifically designed for the Storm). There is now an update which I would like to install, but obviously it does not work because I do not have stock recovery.
MY PHONE IS NOT ROOTED!!!
I was going to flash the stock recovery using ADB fastboot, however my phone is now refusing to be recognised by my PC. Yes;
- I have the correct drivers installed.
- I have enabled USB debugging (I have also tried disabling it).
- I have tried rebooting both my phone and PC.
- I have tried rebooting my phone and wiping Cache and Dalvik Cache.
- I have tried with a different USB cable, and tried using a different USB port.
- I have tried removing my SD card.
My phone says that it is charging (which is is) when it connects to my PC, but nothing comes up, anywhere. No notifications (on both devices), ADB nor fastboot recognises it, no *chime* sound on my PC.
I cannot try using a different PC (I only have one). So, how can I replace the TWRP recovery with stock recovery???
Thanks )
Hi, after flashing TWRP update from TWRP itself I am now stuck at download mode.
I can access downloading mode using Power + Volume down
I cannot boot into twrp using Power + Volume up, this brings download mode up.
I cannot boot into system, this results in the same behavior as previous situation.
The main problem is that for a long time my cable or port is not working correctly. I can charge tablet but the data transfer is not established. I cannot say if it is caused by cable or port but I think it is the port itself - other reduction does not work as well. Thanks to this I cannot easily flash recovery back.
So I am looking for other solutions than buying new port board/cable and replacing it. SD card is currently the only one interface working. I am asking if there is possibility to flash recovery/stock via sd card - maybe some files detected right after entering download mode, i. e. recovery.img.
Other possibility would be to get adb over wifi working.
Thank you.
Hi,
does the flash process even start when you try it with odin or heimdall?
Once recovery boot is triggered, it will alway's try to boot into.
You could try to:
heimdall print-pit
If this is succesfull, you may can boot into system and then flash a new twrp with root rights.

Hi,
my problem is that my cable (probably charging port) is not working (it does charge but does not transfer data) so I cannot do flash via cable.
I flashed twrp update using twrp. I do not understand however why I cannot boot into system or does bootloader need working recovery?
Here I am sending two pics:
1. boot into download mode directly using Power + Volume Down - https://pasteboard.co/JU4sQdr.jpg
2. standard reboot or Power + Volume up - https://pasteboard.co/JU4t6gR.jpg
Is I get somehow to system, I can flash recovery easily as I have rooted device.
