Any suggestions on reasonably priced USB-C to USB-A 3.0 charging/ data cables..... I am seeing cables anywhere from $5.99 each to $19.99 each and then there are these 56 ohm resister cables..... I am use to getting quality micro usb cables for the note 3 and tablets for $5.99-$6.99 with out any problems, so I am not looking for $19 unless there is really a difference. (And I want like 5 or 10 of them so the cost adds up), one for work, home, the car, etc,etc,etc.... Not spending $100 on charging cables.

Thanks everyone. I have used monoprice cables before, I am going to try the other ones this time.
I wanted longer ones, so I got these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01706YAXY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They're 5 foot long, $8 each. Needed to go from my desktop computer which is on the floor up to my desk.
Little more than you wanted to spend though.
Those are USB 3.0 you need USB 3.1
Buy the choetech 6 pack or the aukey cables

I bought 2 of these last week, seem very nice quality.

Just got my Epic back from Samsung since they had to replace the screen and the usb cables I ordered from Monoprice had also arrived.
2 of the 3ft cables:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10303&cs_id=1030307&p_id=8640&seq=1&format=2
1 of the 6ft cables:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10303&cs_id=1030307&p_id=8641&seq=1&format=2
total came to: $6.19 all together and as expected these cables are of amazing quality
I had to re-root my Epic and used one of the 3ft cables and it worked perfectly, no corruptions and I've been using it as USB Storage and no bad transfers and the speed is excellent!
I bought two of their cables a while back. One of them for some reason would not fit my phone. They gave me a refund and told me to keep the cable.
thanks...i was looking for some extra cables my blackberry cable no longer stays in the port and the stock one is crap. Bought 4 cables and a charger for $8 shipped.
just ordered 2 of the black 6' cables, so we'll see. tired of the 3' cables, they just don't reach most places i need em.
Your welcome guys

Definitely let us know, I've bought the black ones from them before and they have always been great just wanted the best offered with all the crap cables I've been getting lately
figure i can hand my trusty blackberry micro usb cables off to the woman (they're 3' at best) once i get these..
these are definitely legit. ferrite cores and everything. china is making some fine products these days...
I use them daily. Awesome quality for an awesome price. If you have any issues, they have a 30 day warranty also.

I left my cable and charger at a hotel a few months ago, and found new ones there for less than $5.
Monoprice is 5 mins from my house.. I do will call pick ups lol
Yeah I order all of my cables through Monoprice. I ordered a half dozen of their 6' micro usb cables when me and the wife first got our phones. They work great. I even use one in the car. I can't stand those stretchy car charger cables. I'm sure those stretchy chargers have broken more than one usb port in their time, with all of that constant tension on the slot...
I have always used Monoprice to buy HDMI cables after reading reviews about them from websites and how well they compared vs cable from Monster for ALOT lower cost. I just recently ordered and received 6 Micro USB cables (4 x 3' and 2 x 6') for less than $10 (with tax and shipping I live in CA) and they have been incredible so far, even better than the Blackberry cables I ordered last time from Amazon.
Why not eBay? Micro USB cables are commodity items. The one I got off eBay works fine, and it cost all of 99 cents. It cost the seller almost half of the purchase price just to ship it to me via first-class mail.

You're lucky, most of them are ****ty quality straight from Hong Kong. They charge slow and don't transmit data (even when I connect to the charger the phone thinks I'm connected to a computer lol). I've purchased 3 different ones, ebay is for batteries and other things but never cables
Filter the eBay search to only display sellers shipping from the US. The cables still might be from HK, but at least you won't have to wait a month for it cross the Pacific and get through customs.

Instead of buying a new cable I bought a passport portable hard drive that comes with a great high quality cable that works great with my epic. I figure I can get an extra harddrive with the cable for the same price.

Thank you for the cable recommendation
I wish I would have found this post a *long* time ago before I started having cable issues. I have ordered cables from Monoprice and can confirm that they are the real deal. They work when Blackberry, LG, and HTC cables do not.
I am probably weird, but I have had many issues with my Samsung Epic with ODIN uploads, and the cable has always been the culprit. I've a few brands of cables out on my Epic and my friends' Epics when using ODIN. Here is a rough list of what worked for me and what did not:
Monoprice cable - always works for odin. Always works for charging. Always works for data transfer.
HTC cables - usually works for Odin. Always works for charging. Nearly always works for data transfer.
Sony PRS reader cable - used to always work for Odin, but varies with the device. Always works for charging. Almost always works for data transfer.
Blackberry 8800 data cable - Sometimes works for Odin. Almost always works for data. Always works for charging.
LG data cables - highly problematic. Works for charging. Does not usually work for data transfer.
Yeah I've found the same thing with one LG cable I have, use it strictly for charging in the car
Your welcome
ive used monoprice for audio and hdmi cables. fantastic site. good quality. for my usb phone cables ive had good lucky with the 99 cent ebay ones. free shipping no less.
Hi
I just bought a 3rd party microUSB cable from ebay for $2. In outer material comparison it is better than my HTC stock cable. I did notice some differences in the microUSB pin though. Can some one please tell me if.this causes any issues in operating ? If you see the last image the female area for the actual connecting pin is slightly smaller than the stick cable's. Though if I gently connect it to my phone it does fit.
So aren't these things supposed to be standardize ? Why is the HTC pin different ?

Mind posting a link to we're you bought it from.
And how are they performing?
My wife always has issues with cables on her sensation, some end up fitting really loosely and fall out extremely easily. The last one I bought her was $20 and worked great, but is really beat up now, I need to get another one.
Type R-blood
This $2 cable (including shipping) really performs well, I am in India so I got it from ebay.in. Amazingly it had a warranty also. I have used it 2-3 times now and. works quiet well with my HTC travel charger. I plan to get more of these if they come up on daily deals again.

$20?!
Goodness gracious....the US Congress wouldn't even overspend like that. (Slight exageration. They would spent $400 on a USB cable)
Look at Monoprice.com. Enjoy the savings.
Don't hessitate to buy a cable there just because it's $1 instead of $20. The quality is not lacking. Monoprice just sells a cable that costs $0.50 to make for $1 for a 50 cent profit instead of selling a 50 cent cable for $20 to make a $19.50 profit.
I won't even get into the lunacy of $100 Monster Cables.
+1 for monoprice.com
Good lord $20 bucks for a cable? Where can I purchase that haha.
Seriously, always compare prices before buying online.

I recommend monoprice to anyone looking to buy cables. Never had a single issue with any of the microUSB or HDMI cables, wall charger, or cig lighter adapter I've bought from them. Between 2 10ft MicroUSB cables, 4 HDMI cables, wall charger, and the cig lighter I've spent about as much as I would have for a single HDMI cable at WalMart, let alone Best Buy...
Hey!
Found this forum as I was looking into why the h*** my USB chargers didnt charge my new S4 :silly:
This thread helped me a lot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274321
But one question remains unanswered:
Where to find a decent USB cable that serves same ammunt of current as the original charger+cable?
I feel a need for a longer cable than the 1M delivered with the phone.
First I tried a cheapo 3M cable, unshielded=300mA
Then a shielded 3M=600mA
Cut the shielded 3M one into a 70cm cable, and did not connect the shield=1900mA, just as the original cable.
Is it really so that any cable more than 1M long cannot be used if I want to achieve the full amps?
Or is there a good quality cable 2-3M out there just waiting for me to find it?
From my experience of buying Micro USB cables for use whilst driving and charging the phone.
All apart from the supplied Samsung cable are useless and don't deliver the 1900 mah charge.
I have lots of Mini USB cable or various lengths which I don't use any more.
So, I decided to buy a micro to mini USB adapter.
I bought it from Amazon UK http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mini-Micro-Adapter-Charger-Converter/dp/B008CAH5NA/ref=sr_1_1/275-7996231-0241748?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1373119829&sr=1-1&keywords=micro+to+mini+adapter Other suppliers will have them.
It works perfectly on any mini cable I attach it to, cheap retractable's to long length cable, giving 1900 mah all the time.
I've since bought another 2.
If you buy one of the above, you might need to remove some plastic from the end that fits into the phone, as it can slip out of the phone when tugged.
That only effected the first one I bought, not the other two.
It's easy it fix, just use a sharp knife in the joint seem of the plastic, to separate both halves, file off any excess plastic and close the plastic case around the metal work, it will relock into place.
In my opinion, for the price it's worth buying at least one.
I found a 10' cable (~3M) that charges at the same 1.9 rate as the stock cable.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43321912#post43321912
You might want to consider monoprice. Have used their HDMI cables for years. Got a buddy in TV for 35 years who has used their cables at the network forever. They're also very reasonable. Their premium cable (6ft) will set you back $3 US +shipping.

LMAO, I knew that. Not sure what I was thinking when I put 1M in there.
Thanks for your replies!
First of I have ordered some of the adapters mentioned.
And for the cables.. Live in Norway, so tried to find some sellers who ship here...
Seems like I need to look more into that after my vacation :silly:

I just got my S4 and my existing set up does not deliver the needed current. I am not surprised the existing cable did not work since it was a flat wire that I pulled from a retractable setup. It looked nice running up my dash. Now I have to find a replacement. I only need about 50 centimeters or about 20 inches.
Any suggestions?
Mediabridge micro usb 2.0 cables on Amazon are high grade cables. I've purchased a couple of them.
I'll find a link for you.
Link found:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004GF8TIK
They have a couple of sizes. I purchased the 6 foot cables.
*Note:
Not all cases accept the size of the usb connector though, as it is slightly larger than the stock cable, without notification.

Below is the cables i am reviewing
https://www.amazon.com/1-6ft1-3-3ft...qid=1483562829&sr=8-9&keywords=choetech+usb+c
I received these as a hopes to replace the shorter cable that came with the 6p. Choetech sent them to me to review at a discounted rate. I've been using them for over a month now.
Pros - the 6.6 ft cable is amazing for home when im plugging in the device. Having the extra cable to charge and surf the phone while in bed is amazing.
The construction of the cable is quality and i have had 0 issues with them so far. I was even able to give the wife one of the cables for her mac.
Supports quickcharge with no issues.
I no longer use the stock charging cable as i like these better.
Packaging is a minimalist packaging. i like that.
Cons - I wish it came with two 6.6 foot cables in the 6 pack.
If your in the market for a cable or even multiple cables. Definitely check these out.
Choetech sent me a coupon code for you guys.
LUI7QEDK - coupon code to save 12 dollars
Bought the same 4 weeks ago. Works A1. Price is unbeatable.

Yes look up Benson leugn review. He is a Google engineer.
Hence that's why I bought them.
Does anyone use a USB-C to micro USB adapater with their Mi5? I have a bunch of high-quality micro USB cables from my own phone that I'd like to use with the Mi5.
I'm wondering if charging speeds are affected and how well the adapters work. Anker sells a 2-pack for about $7, but I've also seen generics for $1 each. Is there a big difference between brands?

Didn't realize Xiaomi made those adapters! Rather buy theirs than from a 3rd party. I just ordered a few of them so I look forward to trying them out.
