Thick lines across my screen when changing brightness - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hello, I have the 935F from the UK, I am currently in China for a few months. When changing the brightness up and down, four lines/bars appear on my screen which then grow larger or smaller based on my brightness setting. A handful of others have experienced the same problem too with the S7 Edge (not the standard).
Samsung said I can take it to a service center or send it to them in the UK and they will repair/replace the screen free of charge, but as I'm currently in China, I don't want to be without a phone for a few weeks. I asked the Samsung service center here and they said the screen is different, please can anyone confirm this is the case? I thought the screen was the same, but the internal radio components (frequencies used) differed slightly? I am happy to pay Samsung China the repair cost as it will be considerably easier than sending it back to the UK etc, but can anyone confirm the edge screen is identical?

It's not just the internal radios: the Chinese version is the only other version of the S7 Edge that uses a Snapdragon 820 other than the US variants. And there are more differences between the SM-G9350/U/A/P/T/V/... (SD) and SM-G935F (Exynos) than we might know, and Samsung certainly understands quite a lot about their own product, so I'd advise you listen. (for example of small differences between the two that impacts other parts of the phone) the SD820 variant lacks a separate DAC and utilizes the 820's internal DAC, while the E8890 version has a Wolfson DAC.

Likely the difference is going to be the chipset (Snapdragon Vs Qualcom) however I cant say for sure if the internals are all in the same places for the S7 Edge Global Varients.
Might be worth posting in the S7 Edge forum to see if they are aware of anything?

Sorry I didn't realize there was an S7 Edge forum, could a moderator move this thread to there?
Good point, there are quite a lot of differences it seems.
Do you know if I bought a phone like the S7 Edge from Hong Kong, is it fully compatible in the UK? Would it be the 935F variant? I can't seem to find what variants are sold around the world and I know like America and China uses different frequencies for LTE, but saying that, I have the 935F and I'm picking up LTE fine in China.

Hoping for quick answer...

Im sorry if this has already been asked but I am trying to order this asap being that the one I was looking at was available and while trying to make up my mind is now sold out.
The frontier wifi only edition is sold out on BestBuy.... The at&t model is available for 249 with a contract and 349 retail. (349 same price as if you bought the WiFi only edition). If I buy the 349 att version for the retail price, is there going to be any difference then buying the wifi version aside from the obvious addition of hardware? Meaning if I use it without purchasing the service, will it essentially be the same thing? Also, where it is showing different sizes, 42 - 46 mm, is that the actual size of the watch or the strap?
side question, anyone know of any possibility of android wear port in the future or in the works? I have the gear 2 and when android wear was ported to that watch for me it was the factor that breathed new life into it and made me take it off the shelf and wipe the dust off.... I have not ever been completely sold on tizen but the s3 is the best option right now from what I can see

Yes, the watch actually disconnects (by default) from LTE when it is connected via Bluetooth. The size reference is to the watch itself not the strap. The straps are all 22mm.

S8+ G955FD LCD digitizer replacement

I have a blurry spot on my screen, a Samsung S8+ G955FD (dual sim). I can only seem to find replacements for G955, G955F, which from what I gather are single sim phone parts. Will that still fit with no problems?
If not does anyone know where I can purchase the correct screen and digitizer from? I will have to have it shipped to my country.

Questions about Parts Replacement for S7

I am planning to do a part replacement for my old Samsung Galaxy S7 -- G930FD.
Does anybody know if the G930F's OLED Display Assembly is the same as G930FD.
If the battery is the same, which I think it is.
Also is the back cover the same.

G930F & G930FD are literally the same device with literally the same everything (except for the FD part obviously), there's tutorials to change single SIM G930F into a dual SIM G930FD, so yes, they are the same.
G930F & G930FD both are the same devices.

Replace Broken Screen | can i SWAP from exynos <==> snapdragon

Hello to forum,
I just broke my screen from my Note 20 Ultra 5G (Snapdragon) Chinese model SM-N9860
The thing is that i am in Europe and we only have international model (Exynos).
My question is this, can i put exynos display to snapdragon? And if so, am i going to have signal? Cause i've heard that the antenna paths are different.
Thank you
I know the C port PCB is likely incapable.
Check by part numbers.
I spoke with Samsung Support while ago. And I thought to replace something, camera glass and front glass and they said there isn't issue to fix US variant in UK. So I think there isn't problem to use front glass from exynos model.
If the part numbers are the same you'll be ok.
Otherwise probably not.
Have u any idea if this part is ok?
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G SM-N986 - White (GH82-23596C) (50027164) for my SM-N9860 ?
You need to compare the P/Ns between the two variants.
Someone here may have tried it and can say for sure if it's the same variants.
A repair shop experienced in these can probably tell you too.
Otherwise don't bet on it.
Little suggestion.
If you still are within warranty period then don't repair it your self or anyone that is non certified samsung technician.
Doing so will make rest of your warranty invalid, so send it back to store where you bought it or send it to samsung and let them repair it.
In my case, Samsung mexico repair my 986U1, same case, in the country sales exynos but the part is the same, they change the internal parts because the screen not sale separately, only inconvenient is they not replace the batery like with the national devices service included

Question Korean Z Flip 3 Screen Replacement

Hey all!
I dropped my phone with my 5 thumbs the other day and managed to damage the touch capacitive portion of the screen. The AMOLED is fine but the screen just doesn't register touch properly anymore.
I purchased this phone in Korea and currently reside in China. After contacting Samsung support in both Korea and China, they both refused to help me.
The Chinese support told me that the displays on the Chinese version and the Korean version of the Z Flip 3 differ and they are not interchangeable.
The Korean support told me that I couldn't mail my device to Korea for them to fix it and that I had to find a representative in Korea to help me handle the paperwork etc.
I found some displays on the aftermarket in China.
I just want to know the following:
Is China Samsung support BSing me and can I actually use a Chinese display on a Korean version of the Flip 3?
Can I replace the capacitive touch without having to replace the AMOLED display?
I plan on going the DIY route if I can use a CN display. Any other advice you guys can offer me?
Thanks!
