Do any, or anybody's S7 say galaxy s7 on the back of the phone? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi guys, I bought off ebay a Galaxy s7. Following videos it "appears" to check out, the interface, "cpu's" shows correct cpu/display resolution, etc, the Sim card/micro sd holder is.... correct.... The only thing I notice different on mine is that on the back it says Galaxy s7 as well as the samsung writing on the back, I googled it and I see some google images show the same as what I have, mean while some just say Samsung on the back, perhaps that was the early first set of review phones being that way? This phone is a "sprint sm-G930P".
Just wanting to double, tripple check before the return time has come and gone, Thanks! :good:

I have a T-Mobile G7, it says Samsung under the camera and Galaxy S7 below that. I pre-ordered mine from T-Mobile, so it is genuine.

Never owned a Galaxy Sx

Hello. I have had nothing but Nexus phones for the last few years. I really like the S6, but am not really sure on a few things. Let me just ask the questions I have, and see if some kind soul will answer them.
1. I'm guessing short of buying a way overpriced international version, there's no way to get an unlocked/carrier-free version of this phone?
2. I use Straight Talk with my Nexus 6. What is the best way (without buying a Straight Talk branded phone) to use an S6 with Straight Talk?
3. If I buy an AT&T S6 outright, do I have to buy service with them? If so, can I cancel after a month and switch to ST?
4. Compared to the Nexus line, is it hell to root an S6 or load custom ROMs on one?
Thanks again for all the help. If anyone is wondering, I do love my N6, but I started running lately, and the 6" form factor is just too much of a beast to strap onto my arm or carry in a pouch. The S6 would be perfect for that.
Anyone?
i can help you with the last question...i think the easiest android phone to flash roms is the galaxy....i used S2 S4 and now S6....and they are the easiest...its simple....maybe you wont find many custom roms for the S6 because of its only exynos variant...but its easy to flash them..

1. Tmobile is the closest you'll get to the international version but your going to have to get it SIM unlocked (try swappa)
2. Take SIM out of n6 and put in s6 I use my s6 on straight talk with no problems you just might have to set the APN settings
3. If you buy s6 outright i do not believe you will have to have service with them should be able to purchase and put your ST sim right in
4. Cannot comment on this but looks like someone already did

Well, the easiest phones on which to flash ROMs are the Nexus phones. But I just wanted to make sure the S6 wasn't too difficult as well.
Thanks for your response.

Thanks for the answers. Where did you get your S6? I can buy the 32GB version from T-Mobile for $629.99. If the one Verizon sells was able to be used with ST, I'd buy it, because they have the lowest prices by far (64GB version for $699). Any idea if the Vz one would work with ST?
Got my gold carrier unlocked S6 for $720 shipped via fedex 2nd day. Not bad I'd say.

I got mine from the ebay seller that had them for $700 the first week, Theres a post on here about using verizon on straight talk, if its like all their others you will get annoyed by the "incorrect sim" message they like to parade around
willmyphonework.net is a good place to see if it has correct bands and what not

Samsung Pay missing

Hi guys. I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge G935F. However, despite having the latest update on my phone, Samsung Pay is nowhere to be found. Do you think a firmware re installation would help? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Also, as a sidenote, I have not made any modifications to the device, as the void counter still states 0.
I also think its worth noting that I previously had a rooted S6. Would this prevent me from using Samsung Pay on my S7?

I read that the latest update on the "F" firmware removed the Samsung Pay App from the phone. The person that reported it, speculated that it might be because Samsung is about to activate Samsung Pay in European countries and they removed it until the finalized app would be available. Again, that was just speculation. But it does appear that the app was purposefully removed by Samsung for some reason.

Yes. It's only available if you meet all Samsung Pay criteria. Check their website. It has to be model AND carrier specific.
It's not on mine either. And where I live, they don't have chip & PIN protection as well (yes the cards have the chip won't ask for my PIN). So not a huge loss.

Ok thanks. My model is the G935F and my SIM is a T-Mobile one. So they probably removed it.
I checked on this with Samsung. They don't have any idea if it will reach international unlocked versions. As of now is only avail in US and carrier locked phones.
Ah got it not sure how I missed that. Much appreciated.
Yes just a small reminder ... the Galaxy S6\S6 Edge\S6 Edge+ international edition are all still waiting to get Samsung Pay... I just bought the G935F.. I really hope\wish we get S Pay soon

Galaxy S6 Display in Galaxy S7

Hello Guys,
I know this is very unusual question for you but I need your expert help. Last 2 days back my Galaxy S7 display got broken and I went to my nearest service center of Samsung. But unfortunately Galaxy S7 is not available in my country and the accessories as well. My phone was brought from abroad and I am using it in Bangladesh. I went another service center and they offered me to set Galaxy S6 display in my Galaxy S7. In that case I was accepted the proposal and they setup S6 display in my S7. Now my set take restart when I open multi app in my mobile. So my question is, is there any solution for that? I have checked that both of the mobile display is same. Then why this problem is there? Thanks for your earliest reply.

Forgot to mention mine is a S7 Edge Duos, but since I bought the UAE phone to use here in the US I fear they might not accept it because of that even though it has never been rooted.

it should still qualify, its still an official samsung galaxy s7 edge regardless of variant, i'm confident if i was willing to pay the price of fast shipping i could send mine in from the UK to a friend over there to do the swap for me. (and my s7e g935f is rooted) the only problem is i dont have a friend in the US lol or i would.
you could always ring them up and clarify... should only take a minute im sure it will be no problem to get the full price of a s7e

G955-FD in Canada question

My LTE doesn't seem to work properly or at all on my new S8+. My phone is not yet rooted and don't want to root until I figure out what issue I have. Judging from reading some forums, it seems it's my CSC but I can't make heads or tails about it, nor do I understand what the CSC is. I just get a headache reading about it lol.
I ordered the international version online (FD) and I'm with Virgin Mobile (Sister company to Bell Mobility) and it seems like my phone has crap service in places it should have undoubtedly full LTE+ speed.
I first noticed this with my S6 (G920-W8). When I rooted it and used the xtrestolite rom, it gave my phone model the international version (F) and never actually gave it a second thought until I upgraded. When I unrooted the S6 and put the stock rom back in, I gave the phone to the wife and I just recently noticed she has full LTE service where I previously overlooked. Now my S8+ has the prior issue the rooted S6 had. lol.
What is it about the international that makes the LTE not work properly and is there a way to correct this? And if possible, explained to me in dummy terms what the issue is and why? Thanks in advance

Yeah I'm in Alberta. I know at the bare minimum that it's software related but I just can't figure it out. Because like I said, as soon as I unrooted the S6, it had full LTE service in places it previously didn't. I'm assuming it's gotta be narrowed down to what the international uses. And I've heard mentions of "CSC" but that's a complicated concept for me.

Just updating..
Got a new SIM card installed and it seems to have helped. But I'll only know for sure when I'm back at work.
Do you know how I can change the 4G icon to say LTE instead? And I'm still curious about the CSC and if mine can be flashed with a Canadian one?

I dont think you can flash a CAN csc in odin but i think some of the custom roms allow csc choice on install.
My FD is from panama and displays LTE not 4g....

Damn. I can't remember where my FD was from.
I successfully rooted it and not sure what I did but I got caught in the FAP lock and unable to boot and I'm trying to find the stock rom. Going through the list on sammobile, I'm sure mine ended with the QG5 but can't remember the country.
You think all of these would be the same so long as the PDA matches? Looking through the S8 box, I have the foreign manuals that say printed in vietnam. lol

I figured lol.
Finally got my stuff sorted out, out of bootloop, installed the virgin csc, actually 100% fixed my reception issue.
But I'm hoping you can answer one final question. My phone is now rooted comfortably, got all my settings and apps back up which took forever considering I had to do it 3 times lol.
What's with the security log agent telling me
'Unauthorized actions have been detected... reboot to fix'.
I'm 100% that this is what locked me up last time in that FRP lock or whatever. Which is what forced me to reflash the stock rom. Do you know how to rid of this?
Is this completely normal after rooting the S8? Never had this before with my S5 or S6 so it's a little scary considering I don't want to get locked up again lol.
