I have a few widgets on my home screen (non Samsung apps). Using TW, the font size on the widget is a respectable size, it looks nicer- but on Nova Launcher (or Apex, for that matter), the font size is really big.
Emailed the devs, and was told it's a Samsung thing- but now my home screen looks like it was designed for a blind person.
Any way to go in and change the font size for widgets?
Try using "App settings" xposed module and lower the Dpi of that widget.

You'll have to pardon my lack of knowledge on the subject- can I get xposed on my S7E if I'm not rooted?

You can't use Xposed if you are not rooted.
Xposed alone is the best reason to root your device Another world will be available to you.

Hello, anybody knows what this mean? Not able to user other launchers such as the tsf and SPB?
http://www.androidauthority.com/disable-magazine-ux-342630/
I take it that it means the stock Touchwiz launcher will require at least one magazine UX home screen, while the others can be standard normal Touchwiz ones.
As an assumption, I think It should not affect installation of other launchers.

it means that at some point Samsung will realize not everyone.likes.it and will make it optional
It means I'll slap a custom ROM in it as soon as one becomes available.

I can confirm this is correct. You must have at least one Magazine home screen.....
I have not found a way to remove it.
Any disadvantage of having it? I am running tsf on my Galaxy Note 2. It is very nice.
Magazine UI was something that I wanted to have but the lack of customization of the other components of the stock launcher were too much for me to bear. I ended up installing nova launcher within 20 minutes of trying to customize stock and haven't looked back. I just can't stand the large margins and gaps on the home screen (not talking the tiled pages but rather the standard ones) and the inability to resize widgets freely or overlap them.
I agree - also installed Nova launcher to get rid of magazine UI. It didn't bring much to the table for me. You can definitely replace the launcher.
Using TouchWiz the "Edgebar" is always in forground...that is usefull. But when i'm using some other launcher the edgebar thinks : oh an app is open i switch into background. then you always have to tap the edge to get it back.
how does cocktailbarservice (edgebar) know that it can stay in forground with touchwiz launcher?
and is there a way to edit app to let it stay in forground with other launcher ?
I would love to know the answer to this too. Even though I hate Touchwiz, I have stuck with it for that very reason.

Yeah I noticed that too. Even the venerable Nova launcher doesn't fix that. Check in the Themes section of this phone forums. I wanted a different launcher solely cause of the ability to have scrolling background images. But the tradeoff with the Edge screen wasn't worth it. So I found an app called landscape wallpaper that does that. Why do you want a different launcher?

and with root and xposed framework you can use 'wanam xposed' to set scrolling background thats a solution for all rooted devices.
it would be nice to use nova launcher - more settings, more individual look. I dont like touchwiz launcher.
I'm looking for any tips, tricks or advice for people with failing eyesight and using a stock Android device (Nexus 5X). Anything to be done besides ticking the Larger Text box under Accessibility? Is there a way to make the application icons bigger? A way to increase the system font so it's larger everywhere? Rooting is NOT an option.
Text to Speech stuff doesn't work well in crowded places.
for change dimension of app in app drawer (if I have understood well) you can simply change launcher to nova or anyone allow you to change icon dimension in drawer for the rest you have to modify the dpi so in the build.prop you should adjust dpi of the phone but root is required...

up to 145% but it's not the only think you can do in Nova, if you want bigger you can reduce the matrix of grid icons for have a dimension at blind proof... ?
This guy has a fantastic site on this topic:

Hi, this is not strictly related to Nexus 5 only, but I would like to know if there's a way to turn GNL homescreen grid from 4x4 to 5x5 without Xposed.
I've changed the screen density but it seems to only affect the app drawer grid, with no changes in homescreen.
Also, I'm not interested in any third party launcher, because I really aim to keep Google Now integration as it is.
If anyone comes up with an idea, welcome then!
Thanks
Have you tried to change dpi? I use 400, but don't with GNL.

Yes but, as I stated, it only affects app drawer.

obviously I was referring to something different, because the three options offered by the stock launcher are not satisfactory, since even with the third option they are always too small.
Basically I would like to do what you can do with a custom launcher, but with the stock launcher. Is there anything you can do with root? Magisk module, etc etc
Thanks
Yea... Get novalauncher or lawn chair. You know... Apps made for customizing...

A third party launcher is MUCH easier, as well as safer, than trying to root your phone just to get larger icons!
Nova Prime all the way!
Personnaly my prefered Launcher is Ruthless Launcher
A Pixel fork like Lawnchair 2 but dev continue developpement (lawnchair is discontinued)
My preferred is Eve Launcher, fast and simply
