Yo
You know the thing that comes up when you hold down the home button, the search thing that records your search history and you have to go in there and manually ****ing delete your search history all the time, ****ing piece of ****?
Is there any way to remove that, so that you don't have to manually delete your search history? I have startpage as my search engine on Firefox, and when I hold the home button down, the startpage comes up instead of the Google one. But it's the same thing, you have to manually delete your search history. It's annoying.
Thanks in advance

Open Firefox and select the three-dotted vertical icon located near the upper-right corner of the screen. From that menu, select "settings" then "search", then scroll to the bottom of the page and deselect "show search history".
Thanks for the response. However that is already unchecked.
I have root. Could I, like, delete something?
Not sure, honestly. I have Google Now Launcher installed on my device and I'm able to prevent it from keeping track of all of my searches and browsing history. I would recommend installing that if you still haven't found a solution.

How do i go about deleting Duplicated Icons from Programs Group?
without uninstalling the program itself?
WM6.1 doesn't provide you any option to delete icons
Thanks
Go to windows>start menu>programs and delete what you want from there.
that's exactly what i'm doing, it has no option to delete
i tried holding down the click, and no context menu come up
even if i just highlight the icon, there is no menu option to delete
If you tap and hold, a menu has to drop and delete is on it. Is this for the Advantage (assuming so from your signature).
first, try to uninstall these duplicate programs from the settings menu, if you can't, and you are sure you want to delete them, open file explorer, and navigate to windows-start menu-programs and delete the duplicates.
as i mentioned on my first post, the only way to fix it that i found is to uninstall and delete everything.
but i don't want to go that route, is hella annoying having to do all that work, just to delete some duplicated icons.
i did also try holding the menu down, and i did say the context menu does not provide you an option to delete whatever you have highlighted in the program view.

Don't use the built-in file explorer, but " Total commander or resco explorer..."
to delete what you don't need....
\windows\start menu\programs
using a file explore and delete away

Why do you say that is the only way? it is NOT! I modify the programs menu all time... did you read my post above?! if you did, try it, if you try and have a problem, report back with the problem, as specific as possible. aaand, any explorer would work.
On the Touchflo internet tab, m.yahoo.com appears immediately below the sphere and "Launch Browser" words which causes the browser to navigate to m.yahoo.com when pressing the sphere.
Is there any way to change the m.yahoo.com for a different address?
Also, MySpace appears above all of my bookmarks on the internet tab page. Is there a way to remove MySpace or add other websites?
You should be able to change this if you open opera, click on the menu tab on the lower right, and click settings. There should be a start page option where you can change what page starts up when you start up opera.
Hope that helps.
That does indeed change the start page for opera but clicking on the sphere above the words "Launch Browser" and m.yahoo.com causes Opera to open at m.yahoo.com and not at the designated start page. After doing this, I have to press the home key within Opera to get it to navigate to the desired start page.
There seems to be some form of yahoo tie-in that I would like to remove.

You can change what the default page by editing the InternetPortal-en-US.xml file located in the \Application Data\Manila\ folder. In the <Banner> section, edit the NavigateURL to whatever page you want it to open by default and change the Text to match.
e.g.
NavigateUrl="http://www.google.com/"
Text="Google"
If you remove the NavigateURL line completely, clicking on the globe will open your default Opera home page.
Great...but the file is read only and I cannot work out how to edit it or replace it or delete it so that I can replace it with an edited version. Any thoughts?
I have been askin the same question for a while now with minimal answers. I think I've learned that if you edit favorites within opera, it changes the favorites below the sphere on the TF3D tab.
I received this answer over at ATT forums..its not a step by step but it gives you an idea of where to go. It is relatively self evident if your not bad with computers once you open that file..if you get confused I can probabl walk you through it but I'm not the best either =]
---Originally, on the stock ATT rom with bloat installed I just opened total commander and went to \application data\manila\folder and edited InternetPortal-en-US.xml to tweak it (like change home page, add you tube link, etc.).

Use Total Commander. It will let you remove the Read Only flag and then you can edit the file. (Probably a good idea to change it back to Read Only when you're done.)
Brilliant...thanks for all your help.
These three should help you- they are step by step:
http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=607
http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=667
http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=657
First one is how to change the default tab to set it, second one changes it to whatever Opera is set as for its default and the third is adding an appliocation shortcut to the tab
I am having the same issue, have found the file mentioned, but it isn't in the Manila folder (I don't have a Manila folder at all) its in the Windows folder. I am using Resco Explorer, changed the read only tick but it still won't let me change it. It says it is in Rom and can't be deleted. Also, when I open it with notepad, it just has 3 weired characters in it, not the string about yahoo.
I found I can overwrite the file, which I did with a blank one but it didn't make any difference.
To be clear, it launches to my default home page when "opening browser" from touch flo, but with the keyboard open in landscape mode, I select "web search" and it goes to the yahoo crap. Thats what I am trying to change.
Any suggestions?
BTW I am running the elite rc2 rom
is there anything for this? thanks in advance
You should have a CAB file for every app (or apps combination) you want to hide, so that if we have thousands of apps and thousands of people, the CAB collection should be infinite.
I suppose there's a "task manager configurator" which allows to create a list of files, but this is also in some other task managers, so that you must go into "settings" "system" and search if you have any way to do that.
If not, the best way is surfing the registry and adding the app to the list.
Knowing what kind of task manager you have, you'll know which is the way to create this list.
i dont think i correctly explained what im looking for. for example, i have an accelorometer app that(when its running) allows any program im using switch to portraight or landscape in relation to the way im holding my phone. im looking for something that when i click the task manager(top right corner of the home screen) that program wont show so in final, i wouldnt be able to "x" it out

Just add the exclusive with taskmanager will take just as long to install a .cab "Taskmanager-Middle Button-tap & hold on the prog add exclusive"
The location for exceptions is:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\TaskManager\ExclusiveList\System]
[B]eg[/B] "repllog.exe"=dword:00000000

Yes, you're searching an app.cab "dedicated" to your accelerometer app !
Are you clicking the Task manager (top right) ?? Or the X button ? And what kind of X button ? If you're using some kind of X-button, you can go to settings-system-TaskManager and add your accelerometer to the ignored apps list. If you use another task manager, maybe you can't or you're finding this config page on another place.
In the most of cases, you'll be able to add your app's name into the registry so that the task manager won't show it as listed.
On the other side, if you "X" it out, and "x" is configured to "hide" but not to "close" (or you can play with short/long taps) then you'll have it.
Just surf a few asking for "task Manager" or "X button" and you'll find lots of literature here,
im using the stock htc task manager and when i click and hold on the "exclusives" box, nothing happens. thats whats messing me up. my setting is "tap and hold" to close programs.

To add a program to the exclusive list. it needs to be running and then it will show up in that list and you check the check box next to it to exclude it.

thanks, i forgot to have it running
Is there a "long press" style option, using an app perhaps that replicates the Win7 accelerator right click option? A way to EASILY highlight a word(s) (besides menu + e etc) while browsing internet, and then search for the highlighted items?
I love the ability to highlight and then search, or map etc.
Haven't seen a solution for android phone or tabs.
Thanks so much

I'm sure there must be an app for that but for now for copy/paste I do it (while in the browser) by hitting Settings, More, Select Text and then drag my finger across the text I want to copy and then long press in textbox and select Paste. For searching I hit Settings, then Find on Page.
I thought I had read on the VEGAn thread that they got an external mouse to work (before they fixed the accelerometer which made it so you couldn't use the mouse). I wonder if the right mouse click did anything while it was working.
On my Droid 1 I can just long press to copy items in a text box but it apparently doesn't work on the viewsonic. Is there a way to copy on the stock browser or do I need to download Dolphin?
Hi,
I am running default ROM which came with my sprint TP2 (6.5) . Upon installing google pocket pc youtube app , looks like the htc youtube app got removed. How can i restore the htc youtube app? Please help.
Regards
Austin
Open File Explorer and go to "My Device -> Windows"
Wait a sec for it load up.
Scroll to the bottom and look for the file "YouTube", the list is in alphabetical order so go to the 'Y' section.
Once you found it you may see two of them, either one should work.
Press and hold on the YouTube icon and click "copy"
Scroll back to the top of the list and find the "Start Menu" folder.
Open it, then go to "programs" there you should see all apps that you would see on your start menu, at the bottom right of your screen hit "menu", select "edit" and then tap "Paste shortcut".
If you still have the Google app in there it might tell you there's already a shortcut called "YouTube" in there, if so rename the Google version one to say something like "Google YouTube" then paste the original HTC version in there and rename it to say "HTC YouTube" to prevent it from being overwritten again.
Hope I helped
youtube.exe is there but it fails to open
Hi Thanks for the reply.
I found youtube.exe in windows folder, however it crashes upon opening
and after few attempts it opens up with tiny images and interface.
