Accidentally deleted everything! - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, i was just playing around with my galaxy s6 and managed to delete my entire internal storage. I have no idea what to do and hope someone here can help.

Unless you had it all backed up you have lost everything im affraid. Save Pics to dropbox or some other kind of cloud storage. When you have a rom you like and have it setup exactly how you want it make a backup and save to a pc. That way if you do it again you can flash everything back to how it was.

Clockwork Mod Help

Trying to get Clockwork mod to work and am Screwing it up I guess. I bought Rom Manager trying to download a Rom thru it but it doesnt want to let me do this. So I guess I am going to try Precision. I downloaded it and have it on the SD card but it seems to be doing something wierd. I did a titanium backup of my apps. How do I save my current Rom incase I screw pooch? Please help a clueless tired of waiting on ATT newb
PS Phone was already rooted prior to Rom Manager
Need to do the following to get clock work installed. Its not a signed install so you need to mod the boot loader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909213&highlight=signature
Where to start?
Did you flash clockwork, top option.in rom manager
You are on 2.1 correct
Ok this just got confusing. Do I just put this file on SD card too or does this require more steps?
Yes I did that and it says I have Current Recovery ClockworkMod 2.5.1.2
If you have clockwork recovery you can flash.
When you say backing up your rom are you looking for a way back to stock
Yes. In case I screw the pooch. But what about what tnerb said about modifying the boot loader???
PS Yes I am on 2.1 and was rooted prior to putting Rom Manager on phone
PPS should I also delete everythign off SD card before continuing

At&t or rogers

Do you have your contacts backed up
Usb drivers installed
Yeah drivers are installed. I have been using Kies for media transfers. I was hoping Samsung would make it a usefull program but I dont think that will ever happen. I thought TBU backed that up when I backed up my phone.
If you want to flash its easy, probably should take the time to understand, but I can get you flashed quick
Sure I appreciate the help. I hate to say most of the tutorials online suck. LOL
Cant I just save my contacts to the Sim and be ok?
So what is it, get me there now, be safe and learn. I am bored, nothing new ro flash
Be safe and learn is always good with me
Do you use gtalk

[Q] galaxy s2 stuck

hey everybody,
first of all, you need to know that im a noob.
today i tried installing another rom on my galaxy s2. everything went fine until i tried to find the rom on clockworksmod to get it installed. it was not there.
i placed the rom on my external sd card in stead of my internal storage. when i found out i tried restoring to a backup i had made. this failed as well. it said that android_secure.img was not found.
now when i try to boot up it stays on the galaxy s2 screen with the yellow triangle.
so basically all i can do know (to my knowledge) is boot clockwork or enter the downloading mode.
i think that there are three things i can do:
1. somehow install the miui rom from my sd card.
2. somehow get the rom onto my internal storage.
3. somehow fix the backup so i can boot my old rom(place android_secure.img in the right directory).
at this point i would prefer the third option.
do you guys have any idea on how to do any of these three options, preferably the third?
thomas
I'm a noob as well, but if you can get it into download mode, shouldn't you be able to install something like lite'ning rom into it through Odin?
Edit: now that I think about it you should also be able to flash the stock ROM into it, though I've never done that.
seems like it might work. i really don't want to completely brick my phone though, so im going to wait to see if there is another solution. thanks a lot though, that is at least something i can try. anyone got experience with this or knows another solution?
how might i do that? and where can i find the stock ROM?
I'm guessing here somewhere: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
never mind that, i tried flashing lite'ning using odin and it worked!
i now have acces to my internal storage again, so now i can continue flashing miui.
you, my friend, are a lifesaver!
thanks for the quick responses.

How did you back up?
If you used CWM (from the A2 Bootstrapper) just reboot into CWM, go to backup and restore, select restore, and select the backup that you made.
If you didn't use CWM or you can't find the backup then you will have to flash the fxz as said above. It will completely remove all of your apps and return you to stock 2.3.5. Make sure that you follow the directions about replacing files.
Thank you matt99017d I will check the link and cogeary I did the back up CWM I'll go that route first if that doesnt work, I'll go back to the beginning. Thank you again for the help
I could not find the backup in CWM so I flashed fxz following the instruction on the link you provided and the info. I'm back to 2.3.6 and it is rooted. Thats as far as I'm going for now, thanks for the help you all provided.
I see at /system/etc/init.d 2 files with sd-card optimization. 03sdtweak and 99override. Is there right or needed to delete one of them?
I highly suggest getting Titanium, for the cases where you don't have a back up, because I lost all my free apps and I don't even remember what all I had. I'm getting things back as I need them.

^ shows everything you've installed from the Android Market. You should have records somewhere if you got things from the Amazon Appstore.
I haven't tried it myself but if you've made a backup in CWM you have the option to only restore apps/data.
Well I decided to give SuperCharged V5 with update 1, and when I disconnected form the charger this morning it was stuck in the boot animation. It has been stuck in that position for the last 30 minutes.
I connected it to PC and it doesnt show as being connected. I've done a search and can't find anything on how to fix it.
I did a battery pull, took SD card out to see if I could maybe transfer something from it to desktop, but everything that was on it is gone.
Don't know what happened.
Can someone point me in the right direction?? In the mean time I'll keep looking.
Ozzie Im in a similar situation. I"m in a bootloop as well (Supercharged Logo just keeps rolling on the screen). I can't get into the Android OS, and I also can't even get into Fastboot to flash back to stock. At this time it appears its bricked. I have been trying to fix this the past 12 hours.
Are you in the same situation??!

I am sorry to say, but if you can't get into fastboot it's probably bricked
so i installed V5 and update 2 and i am getting the force closes and my phone won't show up when i plug the usb into my computer
and i can't delete or edit files in my files and i can't open any websites or connect to airdroid on wifi, or use data so i can't get any files onto my phone
help...
flashing the stock fxz worked
Man...and I was gonna do this...flash the supercharged ROM. Nevermind.
after i flashed the 2.3.5 fxz like the bootstrapping thread instructed, i installed the ota update and rooted my phone again and then i tried the custom rom again just for fun
but this time i did v5 and then update 1. then instead of doing update 2, i flashed the image of the rom that's linked right under update 2 in the supercharged thread
it works flawlessly for me now
so i would just recommend that

Try this, I used it when I erased my xbox's savegames on accident.
OR (and I forgot I even had this)... Download Undelete from the Market. It does require root, though.
Hello, if you have a backup, then do not worry, just what you need to restore the backed up data can be, if the phone's data if you accidentally deleted, I used a piece of software that can help you get back, you can try:http://www.freeiphonedatarecovery.com/

Ok I'm getting really tired of seeing new members post in old topics. I've pointed this out I think to you also. Why do you feel the need to do this? There is off topic for this EXACT reason
And fyi that's a link to iPhone data recovery. This is clearly an android/Windows phone site
From my CM11 S3

[Q] I can't believe I deleted my s3's [system] folder...

My s3 was mounted on my pc, for some reason I wanted to delete everything but instead of doing a normal factory reset like a normal human being I figured I'd just save myself the trouble and delete everything, I figured the system would be locked. Yeah if you're still reading this without laughing then I commend you. But now I have an s3 that wont do anything. NOTHING.. If it's even possible and If you would like to help me what can I do? I honestly think I screwed up BAD, no **** right? Like I did have a backup but that was for CWM but I doubt that would help... I've done some dumb stuff but this is literally the dumbest **** like it's the same as deleting system32.. If you would like to guide me and scold me for doing such an idiotic thing please do so. The phone was rooted before but I don't even know what to say..
My phone is a sprint sph lph-710... When I connect it to my pc I can hear the connected sound from windows. I just need to know how to get the bootloader back and then I can flash a stock s3 rom via odin... Thanks if you're willing to help me..
You deleted /system or all the stuff?
If you only wiped system you should be able to boot and enter download mode....
