This solution uses a font I created by doing a LOT of copy and paste from several different fonts. The following apps are required for best results:
- Emoji Codec Pro (pay app - well worth it)
- MultiLing Keyboard (free app - best keyboard I've used - counterpart to Emoji Codec)
- FontChanger - (free app)
and the attached font.
I'm assuming your phone is rooted and you have a file browser that lets you write to your SDCARD.
Instructions:
- Install apps
- NOTE: a folder called ".fontchanger" will be on your SDCARD
- Copy the attached font to ".fontchanger" folder
- Open FontChanger app and select the new font.
- Reboot and done.
- Use the MultiLing Keyboard to enter emojis. They will be black and white in the text box, but they will be shown in color if your Emoji plugin supports them. I use Handcent, and most of the Emojis show in color. The ones not included in Handcent plugin are in black and white.
NOTE: These emojis are black and white, but at least they are now a part of your operating system.
NOTE: I'm an American user so I didn't copy over all the Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean symbols (yet). My work came from some of the fonts on this forum, as well as from this site: http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/fonts-east-asian.html#babelstonehan
NOTE: At first I had problems with some of the emoji solutions on this forum. Aside from some characters not showing up, I also noticed that the font in many of my menus was enlarged and cut off on top. I have fixed this as well as adding every emoji used by Emoji Codec Pro.
FINAL NOTE: I've noticed that some of the emojis in Emoji Codec Pro do not correspond with what you see when you type. I've double checked many of the character mappings so I know they are accurate. Please let me know if you find a character mapping that is definitely not accurate. Please include the character code (decimal or hex). Thanks!
I'd be glad to know how this turns out for you all. Please post your results if you get a chance.
I have a habit of using direct dial/direct message shortcuts instead of using the widgets available in play store because I believe it saves battery as well as RAM usage. But since I flash new ROM (of different flavors like ASOP, MIUI, JOYOS) every now and then it was difficult for me restore the data and I had to create entire shortcuts all over again. Also I have a habit of changing launchers very often. In this case also creating contact shortcut was a boring task. Hence myself and my team came up with this simple app to create shortcuts in a simple way.You can find more details on play store itself.
You can download this directly from google play store at
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.klausit.apptainment.android.apps.directcut#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwiY29tLmtsYXVzaXQuYXBwdGFpbm1lbnQuYW5kcm9pZC5hcHBzLmRpcmVjdGN1dCJd
working on
1. Backup and restore
2. More themes
Please give your feedback.
Good App
Thanks for the app. i was looking for the similar app for a long time. Good :good:
Please provide your valuable feedback for the improvement of the app.
Very useful app. I remember there was a similar app (dont remember the name though) for Android 2.1 and below. I am waiting for the other features mentioned by the OP as well. I would like to see an option for changing the number of columns I can have. At present it only 3. Thank you for the app
I checked this application and:
* interesting
* look not very nice
* not intuitive
But good luck!
Thanks Hiandroid for the feedback,
Definitely we will add the feature of changing contacts columns in the coming version.

Terrible UI - why just don't stick with nice and clean default/holo android look?
I'm rooted and running stock Sammy Rom and want to change the system Font without using an app which hogs memory. I'd like to add new fonts to the existing list under display. I've read this can be done using the system/display folder but I can't find it. What are the technicalities of adding fonts?
It'd also be nice to be able to tweak/scale the font size (in pixels) and with more options than the stand list. Is this also possible?
Edit: Dohhhh, didn't even see the 'Get Fonts Online' option in the settings menu. What a plank......I'd delete the question if I could.
Saying that I'd still like to install Google Now's 'Roboto' italic natively rather than through a font changer. It's not listed in the Play Store as a 'Flipfont'.
Hi everybody !
I've ported MIUI 7 to my Archos 45 Hélium 4G, but some bugs are presents:
- Heads-Up ( or floating notifications ) dislocated --> Resolved by changing DPI 240 to 210
- Dislocations in interface --> Resolved by changing DPI
- Dislocations in some apps like Calculator or ugly dialer --> No ideas how to resolve it
- Themes don't work properly (like black dialer) --> No ideas too
- Notification toggles are orange instead of white --> No ideas at all
- Changing DPI to a higher value changes style of apps ( better ) --> Guess...
I hope that some experts would help me for this, it's very important for me !
Thanks in advance
I would suggest posting this in an MIUI forum or your device forum. I would suggest installing AOSP apps or apps from the Play Store for better compatibility
Hi BrosseLi,
I would like to use the work you did on the Archos Helium in the forum ArchosLounge in the following post : 45-et-50-Helium-ROM-MIUI-v7-KitKat-(-Stable-traduite-fonctionelle- in archoslounge.net
Unfortunately, the last update you posted (OTA 5.11.27 ===> 5.12.2) is no more available in Google Drive.
Do you have it now? could you add it in this topic, I will update this topic with yours previous works.
If not, could you give me how you proceed to generate it?
I'm in France so you can answer me in French through MP, I will translate your answer to contribute the XDA community!
Thanks a lot,
Helium45b

Hello , I come here to show the Keyboard Modified @Qu3ntin0 THANKS !
I have done some modifications to my taste and I would like to share with you!
** I recommend using the apk Emoji switcher available in the play store to get the Emoji iPhone to your android .
It also makes backup of your current source of emoji, which gives more security in case something goes wrong. **
if you do not know about it is that, see - http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/mod-google-keyboard-updated-ios-9-1-t3232213
I removed some problems that were bothering me and added the emoji color palette at the end of each emoji block , not to have to keep going back the block at the beginning or end, the blades are at all ! As I said I did to my taste and only tested it on my cell phone that runs Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat . This version of the apk is the version for Armv7a and modified for my use ... :good:
Only I tested it on my phone ...
For Putting color on Emoji is now only Place the Emoji and put the palette after the emoji and it is with color!
I'm no expert in programming , just like learning
Attached some problems and my solution
And Apk in My Google Drive

Accept suggestions for improvement ...
Build #2 Some Modifications
* Removed the Color Palette All Emojis blocks and Placed in the Final block , as I do not use the emoji palette that can do manually , I decided to put there.
