i'm kinda new to the "rooting+customisation of mobiles" but i have managed a couple in the past and currently have a Sony Xperia M2 D2303 which i need some help with (any and all help will be greatly appreciated !!)
I would really like a straightforward "start to finish" "TUTORIAL" on how to backup in FULL to external Computer the original Android system or image (and or firmware) ?
I have managed to ROOT my Xperia M2 through the use of KINGOROOT and have managed to BACKUP what i think was all the phones system files and folders including internal(emulated) SD Card...and also the contents of my External SD Card (32GB) to my computer....BUT as was happening before i ROOTED...the phone seems to be filling up after a few APP updates and wants to move APPS and FILES to SD CARD...BUT NOW IT JUST FAILS - EVERY TIME !!
>> CAN ANYONE HELP or EXPLAIN how to FIX this please ...?
Thanx in advance to all who reply with any help or pointers !
You don't need backup of stock system, you can flash ftf with Flashtool and your phone is as new.
For rooting you can use:
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?ur...share_tid=3390663&share_fid=3793&share_type=t
EagleRootTool 2016/05/31 (Root any Xperia M2 in 5.1.1, LBL & UBL)
In setting storage at the bottom you have option to transfer files and apps to sd card.
Good Luck!

Hello i need help on how to root my xperia miro (st23i) my firmware is 11.0.A.5.5 and ICS 4.0.4 ios, i tried reading this thread >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2014188 but it says that i need to have my earlier firmware version to be rooted, but since i bought my phone last weeks it's already 11.0.A.5.5 firmware, and also i don't know how to downgrade, so can anyone please explain to me briefly how to do it from downgrading to rooting of firmware 11.0.A.5.5? thanks please help thanks
frankly what i needed is on how to transfer apps from phone/internal memory to SD Card and that leads me to this, the rooting of android device, so please anyone can help me thanks
There's an easy rooting method for Tipo/Miro/J which works with all firmwares (doesn't require downgrading) -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36155148
The utility (UnlockRoot Pro) is windows-only and doesn't require purchasing for rooting.
I rooted my girlfriend's Miro (11.0.A.5.5) yesterday using it so I can confirm it does work.

I had the same problem when I first tried this utility.
Are you sure you didn't put your phone in "PC Companion" mode? It needs to be in MSC mode (instructions HERE)
Also you need to enable USB debugging.
in short:
1. turn on USB debugging
2. switch to MSC mode
3. connect to Windows PC and install drivers
4. root with UnlockRootPro
i want to know how to install nfs mostwanted in xperia tipo.. it requires atleast 1.85gb free and my tipo has only 489mb free in internal memory but i have 3 gb in ext. memory.. i have heard that directory binder can do that so plzz anyone tell how to do that..
If you already have all mw datafiles, directorybind will work. If you dont have the data yet, use switch external to internal vold.fstab to directly download the files via phone.
Now using:
Sony Xperia tipo ST21i
stock 4.0.4
11.0.A.4.22
(rooted, locked bootloader)
Current problem:
Cant get past installing flash drivers in xp.

hey bro,i have 8gb ext card ......and i have changed it to internal ...........and installed the game its working fine..........but after that there is no space available to install any other app...showing by system .........but phisically it has more 5.5gb available.......what to do..........system showing 7.4/total memory used.......screen shots below
Check mine. The ideal way to counter this issue should be: 1. Take the microsd out and format using card reader. 2. Clean the phone using settings privacy reset all. 3. Re-root the phone. 4. Do vold.fstab trick. 5. Download / install games and apps. 96mb on asphalt 5? Just delete some songs or videos. Check your screenshots (pic 2). Its already 7.4gb used.

game is not working using directory bind.. and tell me step by step how to swap internal and ext. storage. Is it safe? and after swapping if i want to change storages as before will it work how to do that.. plzz help me
Just make your vold.fstab look like this. Switch /mnt/sdcard to /mnt/ext_card. You can do it over and over again. Just play it safe by installing root file explorer on phone, not on sd and always backup your vold.fstab just in case. Do this, restart the phone, and check your new internal size.
Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i
when i try to save the file it is not saving...
Do you have root access? You certainly cant edit it in system/etc so copy and edit in sd (whatever location is fine) then copy it back, overwrite, put permission 644.
Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i
yes i have root access and now i have done editing the file but overwriting is getting failed. how to change permissions..
What file explorer you use? I use xplore with superuser + mount writable.
Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i
es file explorer
Es? There should be mount system somewhere inside es menu. I didnt install es yet.
Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i
DONE!!! but a problem occured apps like temple run 2 , fruit ninja are not running they showing app not found..
Of course theres error. Its on ext_card now (the 2gb). Just reinstall.

I have a sony ericsson wt19i aka live with walkman phone, igot it rooted successfully with eroot and i installed apps like ram expander etc...etc.. and i thought of swapping my internal memory with my sd cards memory so i saw a video and i followed the steps but by mistake i wrote wrong command in my vold.fstab file in which i had to just replace the words extsd and sdcard but when i opened that vold.fstab file with the es explorer text editor whatever it is i found that the stuff written in my flie and the one in the video aren't the same so i thought of writing all those things which were written in that guy's video n when i did write those and reebooted my phone the sony boot icon comes then the walkman boot animation also comes then my screen goes blank and i didn't install any rom manager thing on it.So,is there any solution for this because i don't to spend any money to repair it and you people have the best android forum in the world so please help me guys.
Thanks in advance

Way To Increase Internal Storage is HERE
Custom ROM for Xperia C is HERE
(Wait till Sunday, another Android 5.0.1 ROM is coming for Xperia C)
After integrating updates into system my device memory is full, and I can't integrate more apps updates. so this method is okay if you want to free some space.
And your rom is themed rom not custom rom.
Thanks for reply

Increase Apps storage space of Xperia C
Follow the steps:-
1. Important : First of all Take Full CWM backup of Xperia C, by booting into recovery and selecting Backup and Restore and then selecting backup using power button. This is needed because in the process of Increasing App storage space of Xperia C, your full data will be lost and therefore you need CWM Backup to restore to the point you took the backup.
2. Now download Increase Apps Storage Space of Xperia C attached file
3. Boot into recovery and flash the downloaded file using Install ZIP from SD card.
4. Once installation is finished, then restart your Xperia C.
5. Xperia C will take almost 10 minutes in rebooting, Please Do not get panic, as we have already tested the same and found it working on Xperia C.
6. Once Xperia C starts, then simply turn off the phone and again boot into recovery and restore the backup you created earlier using CWM. By this you will restore all the data you had earlier.

have you installed custom recovery. If not then please install cwm or carliv and then try.
If you have already installed one then flash the above file. If you have any other problem then search my thread in general section.
