Way To Increase Internal Storage is HERE
Custom ROM for Xperia C is HERE
(Wait till Sunday, another Android 5.0.1 ROM is coming for Xperia C)
After integrating updates into system my device memory is full, and I can't integrate more apps updates. so this method is okay if you want to free some space.
And your rom is themed rom not custom rom.
Thanks for reply

Increase Apps storage space of Xperia C
Follow the steps:-
1. Important : First of all Take Full CWM backup of Xperia C, by booting into recovery and selecting Backup and Restore and then selecting backup using power button. This is needed because in the process of Increasing App storage space of Xperia C, your full data will be lost and therefore you need CWM Backup to restore to the point you took the backup.
2. Now download Increase Apps Storage Space of Xperia C attached file
3. Boot into recovery and flash the downloaded file using Install ZIP from SD card.
4. Once installation is finished, then restart your Xperia C.
5. Xperia C will take almost 10 minutes in rebooting, Please Do not get panic, as we have already tested the same and found it working on Xperia C.
6. Once Xperia C starts, then simply turn off the phone and again boot into recovery and restore the backup you created earlier using CWM. By this you will restore all the data you had earlier.

have you installed custom recovery. If not then please install cwm or carliv and then try.
If you have already installed one then flash the above file. If you have any other problem then search my thread in general section.

first of all all the tools and steps in this post is not mine . i had tried to bring all these things in to one thread
note:first thing first ,follow the steps from A,B,.....D
A-rooting
1-download framroot
2-install framroot
3-open framroot
4-u have to select install supersu
5-then select gandalf exploit wait for few seconds a pop up message comes sucess ..........
6-do nothing the phone will reboot itself when the phone turns on u will see super su is installed and u have ur xperia m rooted
note: some time ur phone will b rooted with the first attempt but i had tried these steps 3 times to get rooted my xperia m for the first time first time . but some time u will get rooted ur phone with single attempt so dont worry
B-busybox
1-download busybox
2-install busybox and open it wait for some time and grand super su request
3-wait for some time busybox loads tweaks after loading completes there is a install button on bottom left corner click install then choose normal
4-busy box installs tweaks after compleation of installation sucess popup message comes
5-installation of busy box is sucessfull
note:some time the phone will reboot in between the busybox installation dont worry follow from the 3rd steps. this is because of the system folder read write error
C-reboot fix (sucessfull system read/write)
1-download reboot fix.rar
2-unrar it on ur pc
3-turn on usb debugging on ur phone and connect to ur pc(sony pc companion should b installed in ur pc)
4-run supersu.bat
5-follow the instructions on the pc screen
note:without sucessful busybox installation the reboot fix will not work try these reboot fix steps several times if u r not sucessful

1-download extsd2internalsd_xz.txt and scriptmanager
2-install scriptmanager
3-copy the .txt file to /data folder

note:if the reboot fix is not sucessful ur phone will constantly reboot after the 7th step then u have to uninstall the script manager to solve this
this is how i done all these thanks for all the all orginal developers who found these tweaks

Ok so it finally worked after a few attempts. Do i need to uninstall all my apps and re-install them to get them on the 'external sd' as my 2gb partition is still full
Can we partition the SD card so that some of it appears as external storage and allows apps such as app2sd to move the data stored on the internal storage to move to external storage and free up space that way instead??

Anybody that can confirm I can root the Xperia M C1905 model with the latest .67 firmware wth framaroot 1.6.0?
This app will allow you to change your phone's data partition size.
Since most people have a MicroSD card for storing their files on, the internal sdcard is just a waste of space and can be put to good use for storing apps;
This app allows you to do so.
Requirements:
A MT6589 device
Root access
A custom recovery
YOU ARE DOING THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK
(Although no serious harm can be done when correctly using this tool)
Instructions:
Make a backup of your files in your recovery (if you want to preserve them) and make sure they are stored on the external sdcard.
Download, install and start the Meteos app for your specific ROM size and choose your desired Data partition size.
Press "Reboot into Recovery" and choose "'Wipe data/Factory Reset" on CWM or Wipe internal storage on TWRP.
Restore your backup.
Profit.
Download link: http://ge.tt/8yzn27k/v/0?c
Here is what I had to do:
1: Copy ALL contents of the "SD card" to my PC
2: Install this app on the phone
3: Reboot into recovery, make backup of phone
4: Reboot phone, connect to PC, and copy the backup to the PC
5: Reboot into recovery, factory reset/wipe data
6: Boot phone
7: Connect to PC, copy ALL contents back to the "SD card"
8: Reboot into recovery, restore from backup
9: All is back to normal, except, now I have 3.94G Internal storage, and 9.83G Phone storage

Will this work on a Blue Life Play 2?
Doesn't anyone know if this will work on a Blu Life Play 2?
I just unlock my device bootloader and root it with vroot , i am really newbie in android because i am ios user before.
I just want to ask , what else i can do other than gain root privilege?
I have sony xperia J / st26i , and it's only have 512 ram, but i check the background process and only 120-140 ram available.
After rooting, what i can do to get/free more ram so i can play game stable?
what is cyanogen mod ?
what is custom roms ?
what is system recovery ?
Is it possible to downgrade firmware?
if i want to upgrade firmware , do i need to lock the bootloader?
please give me your opinion , what i must do to get more ram
sorry for these question, just really noobs in android world
You should download more ram...nah, joke
1.If you have unlocked bootloader and root, you can do anything in android now.
2.Android is built differently than windows and the rule more ram=better. It just doesn't like to waste ram, so it uses it to something and it's still smooth most of the time(for me on slim cm10 it was 150-220 free, now on stock based rom it's 50-90 and it feels even smoother) If you want the games to run smoother you can flash a kernel with overclocking capabilities, but it shortens the lifespan of SoC, produces more heat and drains more battery, but if you are modifying your phone do you care about those things or performance?( I'm currently on 1.8ghz oc heheh)
But what you can do to free more ram are those things:
-uninstall apps you don't use
-use "greenify" to hibernate apps that always run in the background. Facebook in the background really slows down J
- STAY AWAY FROM TASK KILLERS
3.Cyanogenmod - custom rom for android phones based on aosp(stock android made by google). It's basically just stock android with additional functions.
4.Custom rom - it's simply a rom that isn't made by the manufacturer of the phone(it isn't stock), like cyanogenmod
5.System recovery - really it's just what it sounds like, although custom recovery is more common - clockworkmod or team win recovery project. They are essential if you want to flash a custom rom or install some mods or do other things such as formatting the system, wiping cache or simply making a backup of the system
6.It is possible to downgrade firmware - you just download the desired firmware and flash it
7.Probably no, but you don't really need to worry about this - J has two firmwares - 4.0.4 and 4.1.2. and it won't get any more official updates - you can flash them with flashtool without worrying about it and there is really no need to use 4.0.4
8.As i said before - use greenify to hibernate apps.
thanks for the detailed answer.
looks like i don't need to use custom roms, but i want to have backup of system with CWM or TWRP , any link for detailed guide for that? since i don't want to brick it or anything, CWM or TWRP is better for sony xperia J / st26i?
There's something bothering me for a while , i have phone memory around 700mb+ and internal storage 2gb, and microsd 4gb [removable] the problem is i can't move my application to microsd, but i can read that microsd is detected. it just there's no option to move it there, is something wrong with my phone? i only have the option to move it to internal storage and clear data, force stop, uninstall , but no option to move it to my microsd 4gb , or i need third apps ? , i use apps called app manager III , but it's still dont have the option move to the microsd.

If you want to move apps to 4 GB you wud need to swap ur internal 2gb with microsd 4 gb. But it has some performance issues and hence not recommended. However I have done that !! Swapped my 8gb micro with 2 gb internal. You can refer to the thread.

Keep trying various apps, one should work.
CWM is more common, but you have to do kernel swapping if you want to do a backup on a stock rom
1.Make sure you have ~1gb of free memory on the internal memory
2.Flash kernel with integrated cwm (custom one, like riches kernel, but be aware that system won't boot up - kernels meant for cm10 don't work with stock roms and vice versa)
3.After you finish flashing, boot up the phone and when the illumination bar is lit up (i don't remember what color it is lol, probably yellow but it doesn't matter)keep pressing vol - button until it changes color to blue and you enter recovery menu. Use vol + and - buttons to move up and down and power button to confirm. Go into "backup and restore" and choose "backup" Wait until it finishes and then go back and simply pull the battery and put it again
4.Flash back the stock kernel, boot up the phone and after it's done plug it to your pc and the backup will be in the folder clockworkmod.
And you're done!
Do the kernel swapping again if you need to restore the backup
And kernel flashing is simple - download the program flashtool, install it and then go to the "drivers" folder and launch the .exe in there and choose only fastboot and flashmode drivers. Then reboot the pc if necessary and launch the flashtool program adequate to your pc (32 bit or 64 bit) Turn off the phone, put the usb cable into pc first, hold the vol - and plug in the phone - small led near the front camera should be blue and the flashtool should display "device connected in fastboot mode. Click on the thunder icon, select "fastboot mode" and then "select kernel to flash" - you select the kernel you want to flash(change the filesystem to the one of the kernel) and then it should flash. Check the log if everything is successful and then disconnect the cable.
And i've just noticed that apparently vengeance kernel has integrated cwm and is for stock roms, so probably you can avoid kernel swapping and flash it once, but have it your way
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/general/xperia-jst26i-roms-kernels-mods-how-tos-t2237164 - here you can find the stock kernel and vengeance, Also there under the recovery is a cwm kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ent/cm10-miro-tipo-j-e-riches-kernel-t2507787 - or here is the riches kernel
http://www.flashtool.net/download.php - here you have the flashtool
Check other tutorials if you feel lost. I suggest watching a tutorial vid on youtube.
1. Don't change your SD card with your micro SD, whatever people may say. It is dangerous, especially for someone who is just starting to mess around with their phone.
Don't. The risks are bigger than the advantage.
2. In Android you can't natively(or with apps) move apps to the micro SD. You could, but I believe the function was removed in Android 2.3(correct me if I'm wrong.
You could use link2sd to do it, but that requires you to partition your micro SD.
You can Google "link2sd" for further information or you can always ask here.

okay, now i got memory storage problem
i download game, install game, update game, all stored in phone memory not internal storage, when i move to internal storage from 280mb size , it only moved 30mb+ to internal storage, and the rest stuck in phone memory..
So is there no way to move the game completely to internal storage ?
and when i open the playstore , it's often show connection timed out , there's no problem with the wireless, i can browsing fine, just always connection time out in playstore.
Hi there
I've got a Sony Xperia C (C2305) and it's got a constant problem with disk space. I have installed a 32GB microSD but many of the app's insist on remaining on the 1GB partition (Device Memory) which now means app's are starting to bloat, etc. and I can't even run updates on app's like Whatsapp or Google+ because it says there's insufficient disk space for the download.
I am optimistic and hopeful that if I root / custom ROM the device I can get some life out of the phone.
When I did the Sony Unlock Bootloader check, my phone says under Service Info / Configuration "Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed: No" which I think means I cannot use the Sony Developer tool to unlock the bootloader but I don't know if this also means it is a hopeless cause entirely.
I'd appreciate any insight into whether it is advisable to root / custom ROM my phone (and if it's even possible, given the above information) and whether or not this will enable me a greater deal of flexibility with installing app's on the SD card? 1GB internal is apparently not enough but if I can (with a custom ROM) move Gmail etc. to the SD card then I don't see any long-term challenges with this fix...
Thanks in advance

Firstly, I hit the "thanks" button.
Secondly, I just followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59153643&postcount=171 to root and custom ROM my phone - timing was a little off because I'd have preferred to keep my original Sony ROM and run your fix. I may still need to do it now that I've done the new ROM because some app's still refuse to move to SD on their own.
The title of the app implies it creates a link, rather than moves the app - I will look into it though.
Many thanks!

The same of app sounds like linking but I use this app and many other people also use this app. It moves any App permanently from your desired location to your desired location.
Just flash this by cwm and your internal memory would become 2gb.

Hi again - sorry for the late response; moved home and had no internet access for ages!!
I find Link2SD cannot move all apps from Internal Storage to SD card... for example:
Google+ tries to move for a while, then it says:
"Failure
pkg: /data/app/
com.google.android.apps.plus-1.apk
Failure
[INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_INSTALL_LOCATION]"
I find there are several apps (mostly Google apps) that seem to not be able to move to SD Card?
Another example is with Gmail:
If I hit "Link to SD card" it says
Second partition not found
/dev/block/: device not found
Make sure you have two partitions on your SD card and both are primary.
I'm guessing that means I need to partition my SD card but I'm not sure how I should do that for Android (or can I do something silly like use Windows DIsk Management for this) ?
Is it true that some applications just won't allow you to move them to SD card? I find the limited device memory on the Xperia C crippling. I keep running out of memory and can't even install a 16k app and I hardly have anything on there - the major app's like Gmail and Inbox are using up a large chunk of space.

Thanks, that sounds like a dream - but forgive me, how is it possible that the internal memory will become 2gb with this flash? You're a junior poster so how can I be sure this is safe to use? Can anyone vouch for this?
I've done some google hunting and it seems legit. but I would just like to be sure

Actually, I may have answered my own question by fiddling a bit with Link2SD - there's an option to convert an app (e.g. Google+) to a user app. I am still learning Android but it seems AFAIK that a system app is read-only and in /system/app and that's why it cannot be moved.
So by first following your original advice (@iSiddharth) and selecting the option "Integrate update into system", I think I am now removing the rollback feature of a system app (i.e. it is now a single app instead of a system app plus a separate update). Next, if I convert it to a user app, I can then - after a device reboot - move the app to the SD card (since it is now considered a user app instead of a system app).
At least, I hope my understanding is more or less correct and I'm not messing up my apps!!! I'm leaving all mission critical apps that are in /system where they are in case removing read-only for them could run me into trouble later.
And if I follow this for all of the apps that I need to, I can free up internal memory - AND if that patch / flash from @Rsameer
is legit, I can also get more local memory (+1GB).
maybe this will help you

Bro it's safe. Don't worry. I do not post something that I haven't tried myself. And here's a screenshot from my xc.
And also anyone whose posts are gr8r than 100 becomes senior member. I don't use xda quite often and post few messages.

Hey guys!
Once again sorry for late reply; just had a baby addition into our new home so I've been kinda busy
@Rsameer @Magdy Yassen I have followed the steps and flashed it but now the new ROM hasn't got Google Account Manager, Settings UI, or CWM any more so I can't figure out how to restore my backup? I'm sitting with the new image but I am stuck?
The steps say
"Once Xperia C starts, then simply turn off the phone and again boot into recovery and restore the backup you created earlier using CWM. By this you will restore all the data you had earlier."
but how do I boot into recovery now?

Alright, I've worked it out - perhaps a little too hasty in my reply ... the instructions I had said press power and UP button but that wasn't working. I eventually decided to try Power and DOWN button and it worked! I've restored my backup and I am back in business!
Thanks guys - I have successfully merged /sdcard1 and /data together
theres a method

Hi there
I've got a Sony Xperia C (C2305) and it's got a constant problem with disk space.
Thanks in advance

theres a method to increase internal mem of xc
google Increase Internal mem XC
IF you are facing the problem of. "" “Insufficient storage Space” Issue on Playstore while or simply adding few extra apps to device."
But the problem is now solved by re partitioning the Internal Memory and thus decreasing the Internal Memory and henceforth increasing App storage space on Xperia C.
Note: If you increase App or Device storage space of Xperia C then your Internal Memory becomes 210
MB, therefore if you do not have memory card yet, you should not proceed with this tutorial.
Procedure:
1 First of all Take Full CWM
backup of Xperia C,
2. Flash ghe file given below.
3. Xperia C will take almost 10 minutes in
rebooting,
4. Once Xperia C starts, then simply turn off
the phone and again boot into recovery and
restore the backup you created earlier using
CWM.

Sorry for the late reply as I was busy with my boards. No restoring the backup would just restore data the app memory would remain 2 gb. Hope I was able to help you.
Done Successfully..thank you..!!
Did this thing successfully..!! Now have total 2GB as an internal memory. No worry about installing lot of apps. Thanks to developer:good:. Specially to informationlord.com who has given step by step procedure with snapshots, solutions to each problem that may occur during the process with every tiny detail. I suggestion to those who are going to try this is that they should go to every line they've written on informationlord.com:cyclops: Thanks to developers again for making me proud user of Xperia C. Now this phone is perfect for me.
Really need to restart after installing Increase internal storage or can already do the restore without leaving the CWM? Here restarted the xperia c returned to the mode of manufacture but had not lost root. installed again and installed CWM and oh yes I could do the restoration. I think we missed explain this detail .or is it wrong steps?
How to restore the original partitions?
