E8 Sprint to Int Baseband? - HTC One E8

Hi there,
One seller on Ebay lied to me and sold me an E8 Sprint instead an international version, well so I decided to keep it since is so expensive to return it (seller wants to return it to China!) I'm thinking that I could change the baseband because normally this cellphones shares the same hardware just limited due software, can someone tell me if that could be done?
I can brick the device if I test it?

[Q] ATT or TMO on DG2?

I purchased a DG2 in hopes of unlocking for tmo or att in the usa. Does anyone know how to do this? I have allready unlocked it. It shows ATT and Tmo at the top when I view the lock screen. I have allready selected gsm and ATT as the network. Bought it for a friend and I am really frustrated. I personally use a vibrant and I am not new to development. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Should have done some research before buying the phone. As of now, there is no known method to make a D2G work on any US GSM carrier. There is one company that claims to have a hardware unlock method, but they don't offer it to the public yet, and their projected price is $100. They also require you to revert your phone to an older firmware, and the unlock removes all capabilities for updates. Not worth it at all, IMHO. Some people have suggested trying a turbo SIM, but nobody has posted an update about whether or not that actually works.
So, short answer: You can't make your phone work on ATT or TMO.

[Q] Help please!

hello,i'm a new member here and this is my first post.Since my Galaxy ace broke i'm looking to find a new phone and i think i'm going with the desire s.I found this guy on ebay who sells his used desire s as faulty and claims it can't make or receive calls inside the u.k but after i asked him he said that it will work ok outside the u.k.Is that possible or is he lying.I really need some help on whether i should or shouldn't buy this phone.Thank you in advance and sorry for my english!
Well you can try to ask the guy where, more precisely, the problem comes from...
If it's a hardware issue (antenna?), i don't think the phone will be able to receive or send calls, neither in the UK, nor anywhere else. On the other hand, if it's a ROM / settings / software issue, it will probably be possible to fix it by installing a new ROM...
However if you need to change your phone, it's just my opinion but I'd rather go to a more recent model like the One S or One X... Not the same price though I agree.
Hope this helps
It could be the stolen phone and blocked by networks in the uk
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
try flashing the newest Radio Image.
Flashing a new radio won't do a thing if the phone is registered as lost or stolen, which is going to be the case unfortunately.
EDIT: If you get the IMEI number from him you can check it at http://www.checkmend.com/uk/ for a small fee.
If it is not getting signal in the UK only then it is because the phone has been lost/stolen and the owner has rang up the network and they have put a block on it
I would say its stolen and the original owner has reported it to there provider who has blocked the phone.
If you buy it you could be buying stolen goods, mrbishi is right get the IMEI number and check it.

Will an AT&T Lumia 1020 work in Germany?

A friend of mine is flying over beginning of August and would be able to bring back a phone for me, does anyone know if the AT&T Lumia 1020 will work in Europe? Or does it have any drawbacks?
AT&T branded phones will be SIM-locked and won't work on other networks. You'll need to get it SIM-unlocked. It may be possible to do this when buying from AT&T, but if you can get it elsewhere I would do so. Expansys (online) is a great supplier of SIM-unlocked international phones...
was hoping to get it earlier
Too bad navifirmn is down or I could have flashed a Europe ROM to it...
But good to know the HW is the same!
thanks!

I just use the CareSuite External mod for NCS. I downloaded my ffu from Data Package Manager 2012.18.0 (the latest requires a login.) If someone starts posting the product codes for it then it should be easy to get. The product codes can be swapped between other 1020s, but the different versions are limited to single product codes. I'm still trying to piece this whole ffu swapping thing together on my tutorial.
At least with the Lumia 920 the US variant was a different hardware model than the EU variant (RM-820 vs RM-821). You could not simply flash the other one. With respects to supported bands the 1020 should work in european 2G and 3G networks but LTE bands likely won't be compatible.
I dont see a reason why your phone cant work. Yes it will work as long as you unlock it.
already solved, got an EU model
FYI, according to Nokia Hotline the guarantee for US models doesn't count in EU, phone would need to send it in to USA for repair.

[Completed] T-Mobile Blocked my IMEI on used phone

Hi Im new here and needed some clarification regarding an issue with my IMEI on my T mobile Note 2. I bought it used back in June off of a facebook buy and sell group to fix it up and sell it. At the time I bought it, it had a clean IMEI, and the people who sold me the phone told me they were the original owners. a few weeks ago, I again checked the imei, and it was still clean.
Now Im about to sell the phone, but I check one more time and now its blacklisted on T mobile and Metro, but clean on ATT and Verizon according ti imeidata.net. I check tmobiles website and it says its been reported lost. Im going to try to contact the people who sold it to me, and if they wont help me, Ill be contacting Tmobile and Asurion. After doing some research about what else I can do, Ive came up with a few options, but I still need some advice.
1. Sell as is and cut my losses
2. Sell on ebay to someone outside of US
3. Sell for parts
If I sell it to someone outside the country, how do I know it will work wherever the buyer is? I have no intention if screwing anyone over and want to make sure they get what they pay for.
How can I protect myself from this happening in the future? Is there a way to get the IMEI numbers of future phones signed over to my name, even if Im not a customer of that phones carrier?
Also, if imeidata.net says its only blacklisted on Tmobile/metro, can it be used on other American networks?
I really appreciate any help with this. Thanks.
One more thing I forgot to mention...when I bought it, it was running android 4.1.2. I downgraded it to 4.1.1 to unlock it and its still running 4.1.1 incase the unlock procedure didnt work and I need to try again. Not sure if this is relevant to the imei issue but Im just putting it out there.
Hi,
If it's blocked, it's blocked. No one can help you with that legally. Sorry.
Whether it works in other carriers.... I would doubt it. Usually blacklists are across all carriers in North America.
And as far as protecting yourself in the future, you can't really. Buying a used phone is always going to be a gamble. Nothing you can do about that except try to buy from a reputable source or individual.
Good luck!

Help with Ebay buy: G930V flashed to G930U vs a true G930U

Hello
I recently bought an S7 off Ebay. The seller had already sold over 900 units and had good feedback, so I went ahead and bought one. I'm very suspicious of something though. The IMEI on the back cover matches what Android is reporting, however the back cover shows model SM-G930V, not SM-G930U(which is what the listing stated). This leads me to believe it's actually a G930V that has been flashed to G930U.
Here's the thing. I have Cricket, which uses the AT&T network. However, when I'm sitting in the break room at work, I have one coworker with AT&T, one with Cricket(AT&T), and they both get 2 bars on their phone(one has an Iphone 7 and the other a Huawei Honor 6X). I however get no signal at all, and they're sitting right next to me.
So if the seller flashed the G930V to G930U, would it behave like a true G930U with regard to its AT&T network signal strength, or will there be some limitations? The seller offers free return shipping and I'm kind of tempted to return it if it doesn't behave like a true G930U, but I don't want to if it's not necessary. I appreciate all the feedback.

The phone was originally for the Verizon network and been flashed to be Unbranded to take any SIM BUT Verizon and AT&T use different network connection standards, different radio hardware. I'm surprised it working at all on Cricket.
This happens alot on Ebay in the US, you have to understand the difference in connection stands before you buy. Your mobile will never work correctly on Cricket (AT&T). ...AT&T= GSM. Verizon = CDMA. The phone has the hardware to work on CDMA.
Send it back and get a G930W

Thanks man. I won't lie, this kind of makes me angry. I don't think this Ebay seller should be selling a factory G930V phone that have been flashed to G930U, as a G930U. It doesn't say this anywhere in the listing. I feel like this item was misrepresented.

It was since you guys in the US are nailed to a network. In Europe all phones work on all networks.
