Hi all,
I really need to change my HTC TYTN II imei. Can anyone help me on this? Is there any software I can get from this forum to change my imei myself? Hope you all can guide me on this.
Changing your IMEI is seriously illegal in several countries.

Why you want to change imei, did you steal it,and you dont want the oparator tracking you.to change imei is ilegal.
Anything in this forum/site that is deemed illegal such as software or hacks will get you banned and the thread removed. Do you understand what the IMEI is used for? I can see if your device got hacked as many places such as Brazil had this problem with the TDMA/CDMA network. GSM is more secure but still not perfect. If you think you got hacked then loose the device and talk to your service provider right away as changing the International Mobile Equipment Identity will not help!
If you are on GSM and use a SIM card, most all wireless providers will not require you to register your IMEI. How many iPhones are in Canada on the Rogers network? And has Rogers nailed anyone for having one? Your SIM is what GSM networks use to ID you and your usage, not the phone. I would not be using an AT&T Tilt if IMEI would black list me from my provider and force me to use one of their (somewhat) outdated and poor selection of full featured phones...

I see an old NES Conrta fan here
I tried that and I still don't have unlimited lives.. er,... minutes on my phone
ya, still play it now and then. I was hoping someone would try this on their phone then post that's it's not working for them.
Which I then would have replied
you must first downgrade your rom to windows mobile 4.9
then upgrade your radio to version 1.66
remove your battery
reinsert your battery
try the code again
..hehe jokes

it wont work if you haven't unlocked first!!!
proevoguy, u must install hardSPL first
after that you must downgrade to WinMobile 4.7
, then search registry for IMEI
if you haven't install hardSPL, the key is hidden
mmm why is this thread is not locked??
lol
People want to change imei doesn't mean he/she is using a stolen phone. I want to change my imei just because I don't want AT&T to know I am using a PDA phone w/ their non-pda data plan

I was actually want the same thing because AT&t's plan for this phone is like 64.99 a month, which is just outrageous.
for those that care, i used an 8525 for 7 months before it broke and att never said a word about the fact that i didn't have a pda plan, when i took the phone in they asked if i wanted to register my new phone with them without changing my plan and it didn't cost me a dime, i was previously on a nokia 6030i as far as they knew

Same for me and Rogers. They had the Motorola 320, and Nokia 6820b in their database. Those 2 I got for next to nothing as I renewed my plan both times. The phone after those, I bought direct from HP as I was outsourced by them and got a good discount when buying the HW6955 (HTC Sable) through them and not Rogers (kept my old plan and the phone was factory unlocked too). Next is my current phone: AT&T Tilt, again bought the phone from some place other than Rogers and kept my old plan. If you got the phone for free or discounted, you will be forced into a new plan and the plan will always match the type of your phone. That is why you never buy from your cellphone provider. My 3 dollar internet plan I added long ago, only covered text based sites which matched my very old Motorola 320 So I axed that 3 dollar service from my plan. The guy was surprised to find out the last 2 phones were not on his list With what our providers have to offer for phones, Canada is way behind everyone else (can you say September for iPhone? And that is a maybe). Rogers added Tytn to their fleet of phones when everyone else was getting ready for the TyTN II. They still offer the original TyTn and still no plans for a Kaiser. We will get the Diamond but only after the rest of the world has warn them out. So in short: buy your phone in full and avoid a contract renewal. In the long run, you will still save money and avoid being put in their database.
yeah. It is very slow in Canada. However, I phoned Fido for their additional $7 dollars all you can browse service plan, it is required to registered your IMEI with Fido. Or I should said it this way, Fido only allows the IMEI on their list to sign up for that plan. That means without changing the IMEI, you are not eligible for that plan. I know some of the people change the IMEI on their Iphone just to use that data plan.
well the poster should
explain why they want to change their IMEI no reason just makes it all seem aloof to me!

And that is not "stealing" how?
I have often wondered - I think that it is the RIAA that made it illegal to "break copy protection schemes" - in other words to remove code that was designed to protect a program or music or software. In this forum we "remove" bits that keep us from installing ROMs - technically this would put us in violation of this?
We get away with it because?
1. it is our purchased phone and we can do with it what we want?
2. we don't sell the software that we make (ROMS)
I am pretty sure that is we change the IMEI numbers and enable someone to hurt provider's revenue stream that this will be the straw that breaks the camels back and they will go after the culprits.
My two bits worth...
proevoguy - the forum will generally not discuss IMEI changing as it is highly illegal in most countries. Please search for "get you sore" for some info on why most people won't assist you on this. Personally I'm not against the technical discussion of IMEI changing, but as it is such a dangerous subject, it's best not to touch it.
I'm going to lock the thread, but leave it visible, so if anyone wants to help you privately they can. Just don't forget to lube up first if you get caught with an IMEI changed phone.

Hey all,
i think i have an good question...
i was thinking to buy an secondhand HTC Touch HD/Pro or Diamond..
now my question, if the phone i will buy has been reported as stolen,
then the police will send sms floods to bring it back (working on imei)..
can it be true that when i flash the rom of the phone will change and will disable the sms flod of the police...
this is not that i want to buy an stolen phone, but because i dont want my own phone on sms flood, or when i lose my phone, it get reflashed and never get back.
greets,
mark
p.s. my english isnt good, sorry for it, i hope you want u understand me.
Well, to be honest with you... a new rom might disable the SMS (if the feature is not included in the rom), but if the messages are coming into your phone because of the IMEI, I don't think flashing your phone will do you any good. The flash will not change and/or remove the IMEI. In fact, changing this number is illegal in most countries.
Hope this answers your question.
okee,
i though it would change my imei, because i have an imei Number whats different with the one on my box.
when i try *#06# ..
this is on an qtek S200...
can it be that the imei is flashed with another thing/program?
and is it normally, that an htc touch diamond will be sold for 80 euros in the netherlands, secondhand ..?
Hello,
I'm looking to buy an Android phone off of someone in my local area and need some questions answered before I go any further. I don't know what phone I want yet, but I'm just worried as to if the phone is going to be stolen or not. Because I don't want it to be registered stolen and locked from the carrier few days later or something. Is there anyway I can prevent this from happening? I called Wind Mobile (That's what I'm planning to get either the phone fully unlocked or at least locked to Wind Mobile) and asked if they can see if the phone is stolen using the IMEI number, and they told me no. Which is odd because I did some research and some suggest to call the original carrier with the IMEI number to see if it's registered stolen. But since that's out of the picture. Is there any other way I can see if the phone is stolen? I'm thinking ask for a receipt of purchase of some kind, but do receipts show the serial number or something to show that it is that specific phone that was bought? Some people are also saying they have Unbranded phones which I know means that it is straight from a manufacturer to the public. So does that mean it is unlocked to all carriers? Is there still an original carrier? And can it still be registered as stolen to the company and remotely locked? I know even unlocked phones can still be registered stolen to the original carrier it was once locked to, but don't know about unbranded since there was no carrier in the beginning. (To my knowledge) Thanks for the help. Sorry for the long post, just need these questions off my back.
A proof if purchase would probably work, and also look at when the device was registered to make sure the receipt isn't forged

First off, thank you for making a brilliant forum! Now that I dont get any further by searching for information I need som help from you guys.
Thing is: I have two sensations. Both are s-off, rooted, superCID and have the latest coindroid installed. Both are originally tmobile phones which were bought unlocked some while ago. They have both been used successfully in europe until now that im in the US.
For various reasons i have three simcards for these phones. And in one of them t-mobile doesnt seem to work at all. Neither before software modifications or after. The other phone with similar mods have no problems.
The other simcards are a norwegian one and another pay-as-you-go simcard which has been used since t-mobile doesnt work.
Since both phones are rooted and s-off I guess there is a setting somewhere. Where is this particular setting? Anybody that could come a newbie to the rescue?
Thanks!
no setting if phone dont ask for a unlock code or has been unlocked i am going to say bad/banned imi number call t-Mobile and ask them if your phone is black listed
The phone is blocked by tmobile it appears. Bought it off amazon nine months ago. The phone was sold as new and "unlocked" back then and w/o warranty, but not as stolen phone. Im angry right now.
Neither Tmobile or HTC are very helpful on the phone. Costumer service at Tmobile keeps failing to put me over to anyone who can help.
Any tips on how to proceed further? Showing up at one of their shops and stay there until someone is able to help?
Since the phone is without warranty its very tempting to do illegal stuff to it right now.

Hi Im new here and needed some clarification regarding an issue with my IMEI on my T mobile Note 2. I bought it used back in June off of a facebook buy and sell group to fix it up and sell it. At the time I bought it, it had a clean IMEI, and the people who sold me the phone told me they were the original owners. a few weeks ago, I again checked the imei, and it was still clean.
Now Im about to sell the phone, but I check one more time and now its blacklisted on T mobile and Metro, but clean on ATT and Verizon according ti imeidata.net. I check tmobiles website and it says its been reported lost. Im going to try to contact the people who sold it to me, and if they wont help me, Ill be contacting Tmobile and Asurion. After doing some research about what else I can do, Ive came up with a few options, but I still need some advice.
1. Sell as is and cut my losses
2. Sell on ebay to someone outside of US
3. Sell for parts
If I sell it to someone outside the country, how do I know it will work wherever the buyer is? I have no intention if screwing anyone over and want to make sure they get what they pay for.
How can I protect myself from this happening in the future? Is there a way to get the IMEI numbers of future phones signed over to my name, even if Im not a customer of that phones carrier?
Also, if imeidata.net says its only blacklisted on Tmobile/metro, can it be used on other American networks?
I really appreciate any help with this. Thanks.
One more thing I forgot to mention...when I bought it, it was running android 4.1.2. I downgraded it to 4.1.1 to unlock it and its still running 4.1.1 incase the unlock procedure didnt work and I need to try again. Not sure if this is relevant to the imei issue but Im just putting it out there.
Hi,
If it's blocked, it's blocked. No one can help you with that legally. Sorry.
Whether it works in other carriers.... I would doubt it. Usually blacklists are across all carriers in North America.
And as far as protecting yourself in the future, you can't really. Buying a used phone is always going to be a gamble. Nothing you can do about that except try to buy from a reputable source or individual.
Good luck!
