I recently updated my HTC One A9 to the new Marshmallow 6.01 version and now the wifi does not work at all (missing wifi module (8)) and the battery is at 4000%. My software number is 1.56.709.70, i believe this is the taiwan variant but it is unlocked. How do I fix this? Please help, do I flash an ruu or something? How do I know which ruu works for this phone?
if your A9 is S-ON you have to search for a signed RUU with your software number (1.56.709.70).
You may also try to factory-reset your phone in download mode
If nothing helps you can unlock and S-Off your phone - after that you are able to flash any RUU

I rooted and S-offed my G/F's Desire to unbranded the UK vodafone version so that she was on stock, and thus would get updates like normal, i did this by flashing a RUU 1.47 - thus removing root but leaving S-off.
Her dippy brother thought he knew what he was doing and flashed the new 2.10 RUU so that she'd have sense 3.0.
It Apparently all went well, but then just hangs on the white HTC screen.
Can anyone Offer any help on how to fix this?
Edit: Fixed it, just flashed the 1.47 RUU again - sorted
hey try this
Mate there is a software for flashing HTC phone via PC. I think you don't have cwm NCIS u flashed Ruu. So from the link get that software and install HTC drivers in PC. install that software and flash as cwm.forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638
Hi,
I'm reseller new phones and i buy 20 pcs One X handset branded by Orange network.
So when i turn on handset i just have only two languages and it's very bad ... i try find method to flash it with any oryginal or custom rom without results. I try by CMD and command with fastboot , oryginal RUU , ARUwizard and still nothing ...
So my question is : It's possible to flash Roger for unbranding if phone have S-ON ? i try with locked and unlocked bootloader ...
I know we can't do S-off in One X for now ... I'm few years in business so i'm not fresh meet
Any usefull link or info for reading / testing will be greatfull.
You sure those are the Snapgragon S4 (dual core) version of the One X, known as the One XL in many places? Don't know that this version has been Orange branded.
If its the international Tegra3 (quad core) version, flashing the Rogers stock ROM will not work, and might also brick the phones.
Even on the right version, in order to flash another carrier's RUU, you will need to change the CID. S-On is okay. But the CID either has to correspond to the RUU, or SuperCID. Bootloader also needs to be either locked or relocked. RUU will not flash with bootloader unlocked.
I know there are several threads like this one but I prefer not to write another RUU request while you're answering to another user
So, I got a HTC One S S3 yesterday... I began to unlock it because I wanted to change its CID. I found that in the S3 version the CID can't be changed (still) when I had already installed the TWRP Recovery.
Now I'd like to go back to stock, but there is not a RUU compatible with my device: It has VODAP102 as CID, but the RUU for Vodafone AT here doesn't work. I found the kernel source for the same software version I have in htcdev.com, my question is: is it possible to build a RUU or at least a boot.img from it?
The sources can be found in htcdev /devcenter/downloads (sorry but being new I can't post direct links!), HTC One S as Device, Vodafone as Carrier and UK -
1.11.161.133 as software version. Actually I am in Italy, but the software and kernel version are exactly the same.
Thank you in advance.
Bump to first page and a little addendum:
I've read again all the possibilities I have with this phone, and if I have understood accurately then I'm forced to go back to stock, roms like the ThickDroid seem to require a non-branded CID, but that's the point... it is the CID that's compelling me to maintain this original Vodafone software, otherwise I would have already installed the HTC "basic" rom.
Am I missing something?
Thank you again!
Have you tried looking on HTCRUU.COM?
Check your radio id on the bootloader screen then flash the appropriate ROM

Yes I checked, but they have just unbranded RUUs, here in the forum there's one RUU for Vodafone but the region isn't the same as mine.
I've read that it is possible to flash an OTA update deleting the string that checks the CID - I'll have to take a look about that (moreover, it seems very difficult to find .zip OTA updates for this phone...).
Nevertheless I'd like to find this RUU update too - it is an important option too. So... bump to first page.
Hi everyone!
After trying out a custom rom, I have decided to flash the stock RUU on my HTC one M8Sw (China Unicom).
So far there is no issue with that but somehow the HTC seems to still be rooted as it prompts for approval after launching any app's first time.
My phone is currently S-OFF with bootloader relocked.
My target is to return my handheld with stock RUU and without root access.
Did I miss something?
Thanks in advance for the help

I had exactly the same question in mind - did you use sunshine or any alternate method?
I have used Sunshine and paid $25
Hello everybody,
I can't update my phone HTC One A9 to nougat using RUU_HIA_AERO_WHL_N70_SENSE80GP_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_2.18.651.2.exe, an error 10 occurs when updating. After contacting HTC Support, they tell me that my phone have three changes on three parts (the bootloader status (formerly UNLOCKED, now RELOCKED), (2) the security status (S-OFF) and (3) the Recovery tool (TWRP). Since all three have been changed i must proceed restoring the stock features step by step. The first thing they recommend is to restore the Android Recovery tool to the stock recovery.
For the bootloader is OK , it is now relocked, but i cant restore the recovery.
I need your help, my phone is not stable at all.
thanks in advace.

Hello every body
more than 1 month after posting here and i cant find any help from our experts. it seems my problem is so tough.
after reinstalling Htc sync manager and trying to update with RUU it give error 132 signature error.
i am starting to hate HTC. After 8 years of fidelity I think it s time to change my beloved company.
Unlock bootloader again
Change cid to correct version
You may have to do updates manually up to latest to be able to flash 2.18 RUU
Boot phone into download mode
Run the RUU If get an error try suggested manual updates
Good luck

The first post made me lol, HTC CS as bad as usual, they don't know their own product.
Re-locking the bootloader wasn't necessary
Flashing back the stock recovery neither
You are getting error 132 because you are trying to flash a Nougat ruu (2.x.xxx.x) but your phone still runing the Marshmallow firmware (1.x.xxx.x). Normally this is not a problem to update HTC phones using a RUU but this particular model of HTC is problematic because they changed signature key between version 1.x and 2.x which mean even if you are trying to flash the right RUU version for your phone, you'll get a signature error if flashing from marshmallow to nougat.
This is easily fixable, manually update your firmware to Nougat (so your phone will have the new key) using fastboot then flash the Nougat RUU
