(Review) Poetic Affinity Case - Clear - Nexus 6P Accessories

Initial impressions of this case are positive. I like the clear design and the case has rubberized corners to protect against drops which is the most important thing when picking out a phone case. This one is a solid case and I would trust my phone in it on a daily basis.
Pros:
GREAT grip around the sides (lots of rubber on the case)
Case does not impede the buttons at all. The buttons actually have less resistance on this case than the adopted case which I like.
Clear case shows off the phone
Very solid construction
Cons:
Slightly thicker than I like, and I emphasize slightly.
Branding for the case is a bit big.
This is currently my favorite case for the Nexus 6p. If you are looking for a case, this is a great choice IMO.

Looks really nice! I'm going to order one today. I had not seen this case before. Thanks!

I had one for the Moto X pure and now for the 6p, pretty nice?

Could we see some pics of the case on your phone please?

Here you go, great case.

how is the TPU on it? does it get yellow after a while of use?.. that's the only problem i have with clear cases, every time i use them they end up turning yellow after a while.. looks hella ugly haha.

Yeah that would def suck, but I haven't noticed any yellow, it gets scratched up a bit, but most clear cases will have that happen, but you can hardly notice it.
Iv had this same case for the Moto X pure , and now the 6p, definitely hasnt turned yellow on either

I would say almost 3 months. Some clear cases iv used in the past have turned yellow. With this particular case though it hasn't. I owned the Moto X Pure Edition before the 6p, I also had this case for that phone and it didnt turn yellow either.
Hope this helps you man.

Only bummer is this is not available in India and 5$ is shipping which is 50% of the price.
Do you have any recommendations for a case with good looks and decent safety?

Sorry that @poetic doesn't ship to India.
My other case I use is the Spigen Rugged armor, also a perfect mix of protection without being too bulky.
A few more which I don't have but I'd like to have are the DiZtronic full matte, the RhinoShield, or even the TUDIA Ultra Slim Full-Matte ARCH TPU Bumper.

Great to hear on ur preference for Spigen.. I just bought it and arriving tomorrow

I've this case for months and I was afraid of it yellowing as well but so far it hasn't yellowed at all. Probably because it's PC and not TPU which always yellows over time.

Had the affinity on my note 5 for almost a year. Handled drops very well. Color stayed clear. very stylish case. Can't go wrong.

No pic?

I have this Poetic case and can definitely recommend it. It's a good-looking design, has comfortable gripping areas, and shows off the Nexus nicely. I agree that the branding is a bit much, but not distracting in any way, and doesn't cover the Nexus branding on the phone.

I have the case.
I like it a lot. I only wish it came in black or smoked.

Loyal Diztronic user and have my S4 wrapped in one right now. Very sleek.
I have always liked the Incipio Dual Pro cases particularly the button feedback on those. But, it makes the S4 look like a brick.

oh yes ive seen that version of incipio. i like cases with the hard outter shell and the softer rubberized inner shell. thats the reason i bought the slim armor! slimmer, sleeker looking, and still great protection!
When I had my iphone I always used SPG cases so pretty sure I will be getting them again for S4
im a fan of the cheap $3.50 soft rubber cases... i got one on my s3 since last sept. dropped my phone probably 3 times on bare cement from 2-4ft height and not a single scratch on the phone. not to mention no screen protector..

Received the Rearth ringke slim today. Nice materials, but took it off after 5 minutes and put diztronic back on. The s4 looks blacked out with it on and handles better than the Rearth.

I would highly recommend the Incipio DualPro case, or really any of their cases. I have the DualPro and I loved it the moment I pulled it out of the box. Very smooth feel to it, but very sturdy as it comes with a rubber like case that goes on first, and then a hardened case that goes on top of that. It's not bulky like most dual protection cases, it doesn't add a whole lot in weight, can't tell at all honestly. For $29.99, it's a great case for a great phone! If I had to get a case other than the DualPro from them, I would recommend the Frequency case, just a typical TPU case, but also a great product.
I'm obviously new at posting stuff on here, so I can't post a link to their site, just go to incipio.com and I'm sure you guys can figure it out from there
I prefer Trident for my main case. I have one on my S3. It really protects well & looks cool. I'm also giving spigen a shot.

Otterbox Black Defender
Got the case yesterday. Absolutely stunning quality. The S4 is easier to hold while using the phone and gaming. Case itself seem to have good fit and it has no potential gaps for dust or dirt sticking between the phone and the case. Also the screen protector is amongst the best there is, it just aligns perfectly and the feel of the screen is pretty much as without it.
The only con for someone would be the size, but for me in need of a case that really protects while on a motorcycle and in the garage, this is it!
I will order the Glacier (White / Gunmetal Gray) version when released also.
I think my choice is pretty obvious, although we sadly are not in your poll
I personally love SGP's screen protectors. However, I've bought their cases numerous times in the past only to be disappointed. They have a very talented CAD guy that makes all their products look specular, but the quality was just not there when I actually got the cases themselves. That said, I have not used their S4 cases yet.
I wonder why they go by SGP if their name is Spigen. Shouldn't it be SPG?

Trident Aegis Cases
I always get these cases as I think they are the best overall quality for protection and its not too bulky like the otterbox. Had on my S2, S3 and just ordered one off amazon for like 19 bucks. Cant beat that! my s2 and s3 are still in mint condition cause of that case!

The same here. I was not a case fan (making slim devices so bulk or useless protections actually) but after my GS3 took a light hit with shattered screen, I found only a hybrid (soft material with hardened shell) case should be the way to go. After a few hours on forums and YT review, I ordered a Tough.
Has a good grip, feels really tough (didn't tried a 200€ crash test though) even if the soft layer collects dust, it's not as bad as silicon shells and the phone don't get stuck to the pocket when you grab it.
Then, still owning my brave & tough S2 (not so easy to break one, what it endured!) and before stock went down, I bought one for it. Nice one.
Then I went for a GS4 and already had its Tough cover when I received it.
Because of the GS4 design, Case Mate had to lessen the lip/edge around the screen and to cut off the hard shell over both side buttons but all is nicely done and never clutter face buttons (as it sometimes happened with S3) nor affects the screen sides touch.
Because of the straight frame, more rectangular GS4 design, I feel it less bulky in the front jean pocket than GS3 one that had to come around the pebble bezel.
Urban Armor Gear w/ Fly Grip on S4 (still fits Smart Dock), rocked the Aegis on my Note 2 prev
I rock the trident kraken ams case. Awesome protection and good price. One of my favorite featured is being ablr to take the kickstand off and put on a windshield mount or the bike mount. They have like 8 diff accessories to attach to the case.

Best looking Nexus 4 case

Hey there XDA,
What do you think is the best looking phone case for the Nexus 4 purely aesthetically?
The look of my Ringke Fusion Case is kind of starting to bore me. Although it saved my phone from breaking around 6 times already.

Looks great
Ringke Fusion hybrid, and I just change the back to my liking. I use the template it comes with and add whatever design I want to the back. My wife has a **** ton of scrap paper for her crafts, and I use some of the textured metallic designs she has. It pairs well with the slim design of the case and adds a lot of customizability. Kinda like the above pics, but you can make it whatever you want.

imho, the best looking case would be 'Nillkin Hard Case for Nexus 4'
-clean looking
-good grip over the phone
-good feel in the hand
-all in black, no shinies
those are my criteria
I like the Diztronic TPU just because it follows the N4's curves while providing protection from drops. You do have to kinda watch the back so it doesn't get scratched though.

I own the ringke fusion, ringke slim, and nillkin hard case.
Out of those three i prefer the nillkin case. It feels better in the hand than the ringke slim (smoother edges).

Review: UAG Clear Hard Case for LG v10

Just got this in today. So far very impressed.
There were some concerns about them coming with scratches on them near the Sim bolt holes. They are there. This is likely a issue with the manufacturing process, but I think are far less noticeable on the clear version.
The feel is great like all uag cases. The grooves are natural places for your fingers and provide decent grip.
The cutouts on the side are to me not a Fingerprint reader solution as I find it hard to fit my finger there between the case and my glass spigen protector. Regardless, finger print reader is working for me far better than the OBLIQ case and the clear thin tpu cases I have. After re-calibrating it, I normally get it on the first try.
Overall very impressed, solid case without the bulk and well designed. I tend to swipe pages near the middle of the screen naturally and this right where the cutouts are making it feel caseless in that aspect.
Here are the pics, pretty tactical and bad ass looking.

Please, I don't ever want to relive that Note 4 nightmare. I must have spent $100-$150 on failed glass protectors on the Note 4.
At least The Note 5 and Galaxy S6 did not give me any problems.
I picked up the Zagg for the V10 and the thing was about 1/16" short on all 4 sides. Took it back for a refund before I wasted another $35.
I've used the Spigen Glas.Tr Slim in the past when they were a $34.99 protector and they were perfect every time. Got a couple more V10 Spigen V10's coming tomorrow and the clear UAG.
I received the case (clear). The side bars are partially revealed which is supposed to help fingerprint scanner. In the real world, it works 70% of the time without modification.
I had the UAG case for the Galaxy S4 (loved it) and then the LG G4 (didn't love it).
The clear cases seem a lot less grippy/tactile than the opaque versions, the surface finish is smoother which is not my preference.
Also, the rubber edge inserts on the side of my G4 case began to peel away from the main body, which sucked. I think it was because the phone had so many compound curves and thin edges, that the case design was sort of compromised. The slab shape of the V10 (and the corresponding UAG case) looks a lot more robust.
But, I picked up the OBLIQ case and I'm happy with it. Little less protection, but nice and slim, and low key design that mimics the original look. Plus it's super grippy.

I have them both and unless you have very dry skin, the glossy finish holds on to your skin great. Coupled with the grooves in the back, the uag far exceeds the OBLIQ in grip in my own personal slide out of my hand angle test. Lol.
The "grip" on the OBLIQ kinda makes it more slick in my opinion. Both good cases and the OBLIQ is a tad slimmer. Really depends on what you are needing. Last night I wore slacks and went case-less. It was actually pretty nice. I forget how sweet the phone looks.
If I had to choose. The uag would win by a land slide for me in overall grip, looks, and protection.
My 2 cents.
Review Video added to OP.
Just for ****s and grins, here's a non scientific grip/slide test vs the OBLIQ. ****ty quality, shot with a Droid mini.

There is a company named calicase that does cases similar to peel. Super thin. I think it's like .35mm.
Hopefully it comes to the pixel as well. Had it for the notev7 and s6
Orzly Airframe Case. It is a slim, yet hard and protective type of case. My favorite colour for it has to be the Black and silver one!

The cases are slowly trickling out. I prefer the slim shells. But larger hard cases definitely offer better protection.
I've put together a short video of some of the Hard Cases currently offered:https://youtu.be/dVU4eX6kkhw
Cool video
Sub'ing, I definitely want a PC thin case for mine as well.
Still, no one really thin showed up.. Waiting.. Add Calicase to the list.
Nillkin accessories for new #GooglePixel and Pixel XL is on the way. I was able to reach someone at Nillkin who confirmed it, but can't say if the polycarbonate frosted will be produced...

I like this case but the shipping date isn't until some time in November and I can't wait that long so frustrating!

Hopefully! I have a Ringke PC slim on my 5X now. Was wanting that but they're taking too long
I'm looking for the Spigen Airskin or similar for the Pixel series. I have one on my work phone, and it's the best for a bit of protection, especially from scratches. I've dropped it a few times on hard surfaces, and the case did prevent any damage to the phone itself. It's only 0.4mm thick.

I know! I had the Rinke on my Nexus 6. It's the best thin hard case I have ever used.

Review: Spigen Slim Armor for Pixel XL

I bought the Spigen Slim Armor in Gunmetal for my Pixel XL. I hadn't seen anyone post up real pics of this case installed yet so I figured I'd share. I definitely wouldn't break a sweat if I dropped my phone with this case on. It feels very sold and looks good in my opinion. I wrote an in-depth review with loads of pics if you'd like to check it out over on my site, here. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Google Pixel XL Stop Motion Unboxing Video
Got the Spigen Rugged Armor case, lovin it!
The rugged armor looked to be a little to bulky for me. But I was considering it.
I got the black slim armor case. Love it. The kickstand may be a little weak. Other than that... Great case!

I was concerned about that, but the images get smaller when you make the window smaller

Wait a minute... Even though the wording is contradictory, I thought the Rugged Armor is amaller/thinner than the slim armor?

I meant the tough armor. My mistake. The tough armor was too bulky for me.
I've also updated the post to include my new video review.
I tried all 3 (Rugged, Slim, and Tough). Tough Armor is the best by far and Slim Armor was my least favorite. Sent the other two back.
Does the slim have the speaker holes pointed forward?

I have the Spigen RA and I love it. I miss the fact that it doesn't have a kickstand but the slimness and feel is great. Great in the hand and not bulky. Highly recommended it.
I was thinking of buying a Rugged Armor to test out. I really love Spigen. Great stuff.

I have the rugged armor on my phone and it's great. The buttons on the side are very tactile. The cutout for the fingerprint feels natural.
I've been using spigen since my nexus 6, after 4 tries with other cases. I had the case for over a year.
This case for my Pixel will be the last one I'll have to buy.

Hey guys,
I got the slim armor too and i like it.
I've got one question though.
If i remove the lower part of the case, the plastic clip (stand) just falls out.
Is that normal ?
It's absolutely no biggie, but i was just wondering.
Yes it's normal. The stand just sits in the groove of the outer shell.

I have the rugged armor for the XL and even though I'm loving it in terms of build quality and grip, I have to return it because the cutouts for the camera and the one for the laser autofocus are way too small.
Those cutouts always end up full of lint in a matter of hours in my pocket, and the phone autofocus stops working or does weird things.
I can wipe the camera lens easily, but the autofocus cutout is so small, it's a pain in the butt to clean.
I'm waiting on a case with a larger single cutout for the whole camera and sensors that I hope will alleviate those problems.
I guess this case can work for some, it just depends on where you store your phone (no, not there :silly
