Loyal Diztronic user and have my S4 wrapped in one right now. Very sleek.
I have always liked the Incipio Dual Pro cases particularly the button feedback on those. But, it makes the S4 look like a brick.

oh yes ive seen that version of incipio. i like cases with the hard outter shell and the softer rubberized inner shell. thats the reason i bought the slim armor! slimmer, sleeker looking, and still great protection!

When I had my iphone I always used SPG cases so pretty sure I will be getting them again for S4

im a fan of the cheap $3.50 soft rubber cases... i got one on my s3 since last sept. dropped my phone probably 3 times on bare cement from 2-4ft height and not a single scratch on the phone. not to mention no screen protector..

Received the Rearth ringke slim today. Nice materials, but took it off after 5 minutes and put diztronic back on. The s4 looks blacked out with it on and handles better than the Rearth.

I would highly recommend the Incipio DualPro case, or really any of their cases. I have the DualPro and I loved it the moment I pulled it out of the box. Very smooth feel to it, but very sturdy as it comes with a rubber like case that goes on first, and then a hardened case that goes on top of that. It's not bulky like most dual protection cases, it doesn't add a whole lot in weight, can't tell at all honestly. For $29.99, it's a great case for a great phone! If I had to get a case other than the DualPro from them, I would recommend the Frequency case, just a typical TPU case, but also a great product.
I'm obviously new at posting stuff on here, so I can't post a link to their site, just go to incipio.com and I'm sure you guys can figure it out from there

I prefer Trident for my main case. I have one on my S3. It really protects well & looks cool. I'm also giving spigen a shot.

Casemate toughcase. Had it on the SGS2, 3, and 4. Have yet to run into an otterbox guy that didn't switch after comparing. What does that tell you?

I just picked up the Dante Red - Neo Hybrid case by SGP. I think it its a beauty!

Otterbox Black Defender
Got the case yesterday. Absolutely stunning quality. The S4 is easier to hold while using the phone and gaming. Case itself seem to have good fit and it has no potential gaps for dust or dirt sticking between the phone and the case. Also the screen protector is amongst the best there is, it just aligns perfectly and the feel of the screen is pretty much as without it.
The only con for someone would be the size, but for me in need of a case that really protects while on a motorcycle and in the garage, this is it!
I will order the Glacier (White / Gunmetal Gray) version when released also.

I think my choice is pretty obvious, although we sadly are not in your poll
I personally love SGP's screen protectors. However, I've bought their cases numerous times in the past only to be disappointed. They have a very talented CAD guy that makes all their products look specular, but the quality was just not there when I actually got the cases themselves. That said, I have not used their S4 cases yet.
I wonder why they go by SGP if their name is Spigen. Shouldn't it be SPG?

Trident Aegis Cases
I always get these cases as I think they are the best overall quality for protection and its not too bulky like the otterbox. Had on my S2, S3 and just ordered one off amazon for like 19 bucks. Cant beat that! my s2 and s3 are still in mint condition cause of that case!

The same here. I was not a case fan (making slim devices so bulk or useless protections actually) but after my GS3 took a light hit with shattered screen, I found only a hybrid (soft material with hardened shell) case should be the way to go. After a few hours on forums and YT review, I ordered a Tough.
Has a good grip, feels really tough (didn't tried a 200€ crash test though) even if the soft layer collects dust, it's not as bad as silicon shells and the phone don't get stuck to the pocket when you grab it.
Then, still owning my brave & tough S2 (not so easy to break one, what it endured!) and before stock went down, I bought one for it. Nice one.
Then I went for a GS4 and already had its Tough cover when I received it.
Because of the GS4 design, Case Mate had to lessen the lip/edge around the screen and to cut off the hard shell over both side buttons but all is nicely done and never clutter face buttons (as it sometimes happened with S3) nor affects the screen sides touch.
Because of the straight frame, more rectangular GS4 design, I feel it less bulky in the front jean pocket than GS3 one that had to come around the pebble bezel.

Urban Armor Gear w/ Fly Grip on S4 (still fits Smart Dock), rocked the Aegis on my Note 2 prev

I rock the trident kraken ams case. Awesome protection and good price. One of my favorite featured is being ablr to take the kickstand off and put on a windshield mount or the bike mount. They have like 8 diff accessories to attach to the case.

Ballistic Smooth Case

I brought this case a few weeks ago and I'm amazed to see no one here have talk about it yet.
This case is incredible! i used to own a 3DO Flex but I never became a fan of it, But I kept it because I couldn't find anything with similar grade of protection and a slim profile. Until I found the Ballistic Smooth.
The Ballistic Smooth case is getting very popular among iPhone Users (at least where I live). I saw it for the first time on a co-worker's iPhone and it definitively catched my eye. The case looks Slim while sturdy. The 4 corners are bigger than the rest of the case and have inside a replaceable silicone bumper for added protection.
It comes with 4 set of silicon inserts in different colors. Orange (which is the default installed one) Black, Gray, and Blue. The Blue One plays nicely with my phone since I own the Tmo USA One S (gradient Gray version)
The case is not hard plastic, it feels more like some kind of TPU and has a finish that is very smooth to the touch, it really feels like no other case I have owned (a lot of Otter Boxs, cheap TPU cases, few Body Glove and few 3DO)

If someone want pics taken with my camera I will try to take some later.
Their Website is asking $30 for the Case but I found it on Amazon for $15 + free shipping.
Anybody else here own it?
Just ordered one! That's super cheap, and Ballistic is a great name! Plus, I love having multiple cases for my phones, I can swap them around whenever I want, and it's kind of like having a new phone all the time!
I'm very happy with it's bigger brother, Ballistic SG, it's better than the Otterbox that I have.
Does the smooth pick up much dust/lint?
Verstuurd van mijn HTC One S met Tapatalk
I have the SG as well, love it, but wondered if this wasn't similar to the first layer of the SG with just the corner inserts added.
No Dust / Lint, it also very good dealing with body oils. the case is almost 3 weeks old and it still look like new. I accidentally left the phone fell and the cover worked like a charm.
Got it today, this case is AWESOME. Best one I've tried yet of 4, the others being the Diztronic, the GreatShield, and the Body Glove. This is by far the best. The TPU is VERY heavy-duty, not super flexy and thin like the others. And I LOVE the silicone corners, and the fact that it comes with 3 other colors. The big, raised corners give it a lot more drop protection and peace of mind than any of the others do, and the texture of it feels so much more solid and grippy in my hands, doesn't feel like it's going to slide away on me. The material is a lot darker grey than it looks in the pictures, which I'm actually fine with.
I'm ordering another one of these right now.

tks to the OP as i'm glad to find this thread. i started off with a diztronic thin case then moved on to a no-name 2-pc thick case from ebay. for $15, this case rocks and is stylish to boot. it could use a little more grip imo but still fine just the way it is now. i especially like it paired with the teal corner pads to compliment the gray/teal TMOUS HOS
the case also has a somewhat slim profile so doesn't add much bulk if any.
thanks for the little review! I've been lookin' at cases for awhile and really liked this one when I saw it but didn't get around to ordering one. I have the body glove 2 piece hard plastic case that came with it when my wife and I got the phones from T Mobile but I don't really like it much. I only like to use it at work. my wife has dropped hers and it has protected the phone but the little plastic clips have broken off on the corner it hit on. so the front piece is not very secure anymore.
15 bucks for a quality case is just about a steal. we have a prime membership too so it's even better!

Great thread, caused me to order myself a charcoal grey version last night. I currently use the diztronic matte black and also used an otterbox commuter case (bulkiest and ugliest case for this phone), and when I saw those cyan corner bumpers I had to have this case.
I've bought a handful of cases (about 6 or so) past month, and I gotta say, this one is my favorite. Power button is a bit tough to press, but I like the overall texture of the skin.
My favorite part about this case is that the back of the phone's 4 corners are raised so that the speaker doesn't get muffled when laying on a flat surface.
Being able to chance colors on the 4 corner silicone tips are very much appreciated.
Very nice case but the buttons bug me. I wish they had made the buttons out of silicone as on the Ballistic SG.

Let us know how you like it when it arrives.
I like the extra corner protection. The case system seems like something from Aliens.
I had this case on my S3 for a few days before returning it, only because I didn't like the way the belt clip attached to the outer case. It's too hard to get it clipped in when the belt piece is still on your belt and you're trying to put the phone back in it. Also, I wasn't crazy about the clip piece being close to the screen. If this had a holster like Otterbox or a Seidio case I had for the S3, that would be much better IMO. Aside from the belt clip, the case itself is a solid Otterbox competitor, assuming build quality is the same for the S4 as it was for the S3.
I like the Trident Aegis case instead- just got one for my S4 and it offers the same protection without the bulky corners. I've had the Trident Aegis cases on my S2, S3 and now S4 and I must say its probably one of my favorite lines of cases.
Using the clip became 2nd nature after 2-3 days. I liked it because you could tell if the phone was on board without doing anything. What I didn't like is the ear opening cut off half the speaker and they didn't care.

Also, I discovered that the Kraken fits in the Arkon Galaxy Note 2 armband; I'm positive an Otterbox Defender case would fit also:

If you look on the back, the top corners protrude, so the upper 2/3 of the case are in contact with a flat surface when you lay it flat. If you push down on the bottom, it will tilt, however.

No. It is poly carbonate but has a small bit of texture and some louvers on the back (for heat maybe?). If you use the case without the back on it (Perseus) then it will have more of a silicone feel. Can't really compare this case to the Seidio Active because the Kraken is a Mil Spec case. Much more stout.
If anyone is interested I did a short video review of this case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288370

THIN case

Whats the thinnest case you have found for the S4? I've been looking at various cases, and they are all so thick ( I usually go naked.. ) but I would like to put something over it for drop protection ( so no, skins don't work ). And don't suggest any of the crap offered by SPIGEN, I'm done with that worthless company ( ALL support issues with them ).
ITSkins has the ghost and Zero.3, but neither is available STILL ( they where suppose to be on the 15th ) and you can't pre-order them either....
Everything else i find just says "Thin" or some other wonderful adj, I'd like a number and facts. Thin is subjective....

After everything I have read about Spigen, I am very hesitant to buy one of their products. The casemate looks pretty nice, but I don't like the openings on the top and bottom. I want a thin/light case, but I want a little bit of fall protection in it.
I've just got this one, loving it so far.

Serious recommendation: I was in the same boat, and didn't think I would find anything I liked. I happened to be browsing at BestBuy while my wife picked out case. I noticed some RocketFish branded cases that look really slim. Asked if I could try one on my phone and it fit like a glove, barely added any size to it, but definitely makes it feel like I'm not going to accidentally fling the phone across the roam just taking it out of my pocket.
I also have the Ringke Rearth ultra slim case - which was not only the thinnest I've seen, but also very cheap!
I keep the Spigen Neo-Hybrid case on my phone though - I had an S3 get nicked up at the bottom where the ultra thin rearth case didn't cover. Outside of the neo-hybrid I think the rearth cases are my favorites - considering I bought one for my S4 immediately and had one for my S3 I'd feel confident suggesting it.
I purchased both the Ringke Rearth Slim and the Spigen Neo Hybrid. While the Spigen looks nice it really does add a lot of width to the phone. The Ringke is easily the slimmest case that I have used for any phone. Not to mention it only cost $2. The matte black has also been great for adding grip. My only complaint is that the Ringke case is very difficult to remove.
I have a Spigen Ultrafit. Its pretty darn thin.
I like the matte finish.
Spigen Ultrafit
Edit: it is just thick enough the effectively recess the buttons to protect them from drops, plus it works with a tempered glass screen protector. AND...its only $10 shipped with Prime.

It would have to hit a very uneven surface...the corners are protected. You would have to drop in on gravel or a curb or something like a car door sill. If you drop in on tile or flat concrete it is impossible to hit the edge because of the gap created by the corners. I prefer minimal protection. My main concern is really protecting the corners back and front since those are what are going to hit 99% of the time. And the buttons...you can break the board connections (trust me I know, lol) if the phone lands on its buttons. I actually was thinking of going naked since the battery door can be replaced so easily and it is the entire back. Just a screen protector and a replaceable back. I have insurance. Also, I am a middle aged dad...I am not in the situations that you would drop a phone that often.
All that being said I will probably get another case at some point just because, lol.
I have the Body Glove phone case. Made of soft rubber for a nice all around grip. I purchased it at Walmart for $15. Link is for image of the case.

I have the Ringke. It is very thin. I don't feel like it would do anything to prevent the screen from cracking. It would prevent scratches to the back though.
I now have a Chinese knock off neo hybrid. Add with the genuine. .. Pretty thin on the back but it does make the phone wider. I do feel like this will help obsorb shock in a fall.

UAG vs Spigen Neo Hybrid

I'm having trouble deciding between the UAG and the Neo Hybrid. Does anyone have both of these cases that can do a comparison?
It looks like the UAG is a little thicker, but would have better grip and protection.
The Neo Hybrid seems slimmer, but people have mentioned it makes the phone feel wide and not many usb cables fit.
Would love to see both side by side!

I bought UAG because neo hybrid might be slim and looks good to, but the protection is very low for my needs
Does the UAG add much bulkiness? I think what its going to come down to for me is the thickness of each case. I couldn't find the dimensions but emailed support at both companies so hopefully I'll know soon.

I had both cases for my S3 and both had pros and cons.
The UAG is no doubt tougher and more reliable but in that it also made the buttons next to impossible to press. I'm a very athletic guy and have strong hands but it was just a pain for everyday use. The thing I liked about it though is it looked very tough and attractive and got lots of manly compliments lol.
The Spigen was pretty solid but fit terrible!! The volume buttons were not spaced right, its hard to explain but you never knew if you were pressing the volume up or down. Best thing about the Spigen is it was very thin and I'm still sure it would have held up in many hard drops. Hopefully they have the fitment issue fixed for the S4 version.
I have already ordered the Spigen for my S4 since all the video tutorials on youtube seemed to fit perfect. I'll report back with pictures when I get it!
I have the spigen and man this case is the best. The quality is second to none and yes I love that it doesn't add any bulk to my phone keeps it slim. For protection I feel very confident that I can drop my phone about waist high and this case will do just fine. I also had the it uag for my s3 and looks like the s4 version is identical so even tho I don't have the s4 version I'm not going to buy one cause this spigen case is the bomb and I'm going to order another one for a different color as I have the yellow one and now want the red one as well,.

Only thing I'm noticing about the Neo Hybrid is that with it off, the phone feels like the perfect width in my hands (texting, browsing, etc...) But when I put it on the phone feels a bit too wide, almost awkward. Just my 2 cents...
i haf both cases and i have to said i like uag better. neo is good to look at but it too wide for my liking. the usb port opening is a problem too, fit e stock sammy cable but not the rest of those usb cables ard. Protection wise, doubled it will survive a fall, the rubber lip off e glass is super thin. The power button is also too easily activated when put in side pocket.
furthermore the 'sharp' edges is uncomfortable if u are those who 'pocket' ur phone instead of keeping it in bag. Bottom line tat case make my phone felt like a note2 wif a smaller screen.

I will be reviewing Neo in a day or two (received sample from Spigen). Once I finish the review, I will take side-by-side pictures and will offer you my opinion since I already reviewed UAG in details (refer to the link in my signature).

i say get both and switch back and forth whenever you feel like it. that's what im doing, can't go wrong with that, I like options and when you limit yourself to one case... well you can't have options
I ordered UAG case I love it's looks and it's definitely more protective then neo hybrid anyone used the phone without case for like 2 weeks and then put UAG case on? The size now of naked s4 is just super for me. Did u get used to it fast?

Prices on the UAG have historically been driven down almost immediately when the listings on Amazon get fully stocked (usually just a few weeks) so I decided to start with the Neo Hybrid and wait to get the UAG once the price drops.

Here is a comparison of UAG vs Slim Armor and Neo Hybrid. Pictures speak very clear, UAG is thicker, but also offers more protection. Neo and Slim are obviously slimmer.

Here, how the same 3 cases will look with Spigen GlasTr laid down on top of the screen. Fits Slim and Neo, but not UAG. Furthermore, GlasTr is 0.4mm which is a bit too thick even for Spigen cases. I would probably recommend using GlasT (0.23 mm) which is thinner. Thicker glass should go with bigger bumper cases, if you find one that fits GlasTr. I'm going to post soon a more detailed review of Neo Hybrid, Aluminum replacement buttons, and GlasTr.
What screen protector are you rocking?

If you referring to pictures above, that one is Spigen GlasTr tempered glass. I only laid it down because I'm using display model of S4 for my review (not a real phone). On my Note 2 I have Seidio VITREO tempered glass which is INSANE in quality, but seems they are not making it for S4.

Vectron, thanks for the pictures. Which case do you like best? If you had to pick one and weren't going to use any glass what would it be?
has anyone tried these cases they look similar to UAG but alot cheaper.

There is a separate thread about these already, and it's at the top of the forum, don't even have to do a search. I personally already offered my opinion about it - it's a cheaper copy cat. I can't comment on quality, so let someone else comment who has both cases. I don't have any intent to order it just for review purpose. Just my personal opinion...
Really like my UAG case. I have both the Slim Armor and the UAG. The Slim Armor is great as well, but not as protective as the UAG. For the protection it provides, I really don't feel the UAG is that bulky. Overall it's thinner than my GNex was with a case, so I'm happy.

I'm personally after a better protection, so UAG hands down. Spigen cases are awesome and I'm very happy they stepped up their typical minimal slim design to offer a much better drop protection. But still, in my personal opinion based on my personal requirements - I choose UAG over Spigen because I need a more rugged protection.

Recommendation for a very thin "rubber" slip on case for the Note 4?

I'm not a fan of bulky cases that add alot of girth to an already large phone. Also don't like silicone as it's too much friction going in and out of my pocket.
When I purchased my LG G3 at Best Buy I picked up their "house brand" most inexpensive case/condom for the phone and it is fantastic. Just thick enough to provide edge and corner protection from a mild fall but not so thick as to add alot of bulk to it. The G3 was also a very difficult phone to hold... almost too thin at the edges. This gave it a nice grippy edge to hold on to, but it wasn't silicone so it still slid in and out of my pocket.
Going to all the major retailers now is nothing but iphone iphone iphone and MAYBE a few S5 and S6 cases. Bestbuy, Target, Walmart, etc.
I have Amazon prime but this is something I'd like to see in person, maybe take out of the box before buying.
So any recommendations? Hope I have explained the type of case I'm looking for. I really don't want to ding up my new beautiful aluminum sides or god forbid shatter the glass. The edges are just a bit too slippery for my liking.
Thanks!
-Jon
I bought the Spigen Neo Hybrid case for around $14 on Amazon and I love it. It's thin and has a premium feel to it.

Awesome thank you very much that is exactly what I was looking for.
Looks like it is too late for my recommendation, but I really like the Samsung Protective Case made by Samsung:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...&tag=httpwwwdolphc-20&linkId=OMBRYAX56M45VB35
I have the Diztronic case as well, and don't like it as much because it is slippery, has less protection, and doesn't look as good as the Samsung one.
I second this guy...
I have a Spigen Neo Hybrid, a Spigen tough armor and an orange UAG case.
out of all I found out how well made the Samsung protective case is, also the feel in hand is great, not bulky very durable and it does protect the phone very good.
it has become my daily favorite case.
I still use the UAG case from time to time for looks but still bulky.
and well the Spigen cases I only used them for a while.

in my country, bosnia, cases like this are 3$
I received my diztronic case today. Exactly what i was looking for. Only downside so far is it makes it very difficult to activate one handed mode. I actually use that feature daily.
I imagine any case will do this though. Thank you very much for the recommendation!

The first case I ordered was the Samsung OEM listed above. I used it for two weeks and decided to also order the Diztronic one I linked to. Between them, I use the Diztronic most of the time and actually like how it feels more than the Samsung one. But the Samsung is harder and does provide a little more protection.
I used this approach on my Note 2. Mask off your screen with masking tape. Apply 3 layers of electrical tape to al 4 corners of your device, neatly and evenly trimmed to act as "bumpers". Spray light even coats of Plastidip, 6 coats should do. If you don't like it or it becomes damaged you can peel it off. Apply your bumpers 1 layer at a time . Run a razor around the edge of the battery cover when dry, you can easily remove the battery cover whenever. Thinnest phone case you can imagine, and grippy. Minimal protection though

Yah I bought the Samsung OEM case in blue and I bought a Casology Bumper case in carbon Fiber. Both are superb but the samsung one is a bit thinner. Bot cases, though feel like you have the phone without a case. I like the corner bumpers as well on the Samsung Protective Case. It provides a very slim design without compromising protection.
Using black/grey version of Samsung's protective case. It is very good & slim. From back, the phone looks like Note 4 Active! Only thing I miss is a kickstand.

How is it when taking it out of your pocket? Is it smooth or is it like those silicone cases that are hard to take out? I recently got a Note 4 and I'm also looking for a case that's thin. Also, has anyone ever bought a S Pen from amazon or ebay and recommend it? I bought my Note 4 used and it didn't have the S Pen. Samsung website has them for $30 and it seems pretty expensive for a stylus.

Just get the stylus from Ebay. They have the original ones and theyre like 2 for $5 with rubber tips and everything. As for the Samsung Case, it provides decent protection and is very easy to take out of one's pocket. The silicon around the sides gives it grip but doesn't makenit clumsy to take out as the back is plastic and much more smooth.

Thanks, I think I'll order the Samsung case then. I haven't seen another case that looks as thin and protective as the Samsung one.
Any good suggestions for a very slim case?

I have several Spigens, Ringkes, Verus cases, OEM wireless flip case. The TPU above is the one I keep going back to. Only 0.6mm thick, makes the phone feel "caseless".
