Question on firmware flashing - Samsung Gear S2

Can we cross flash a Samsung Gear S2 3G Verizion (R730V) with ATT firmware (R730A)?
Reason I'm asking is because I don't see the latest version of the firmware for Verizon yet but ATT already has theirs.
Looks like ATT firmware can be found at the following site:
http://a2phone.ir/index.php?file=/S...UCU2BPF6_R730AATT2BPF6_USA ATT_4File Firmware

No

Why does it not work. It is the same hardeware, isn't it?
I had the same idea to flash a S2 Sport 3G with the firmware of the S2 classic 3G (vodafone). No chance?

Canadian Firmware Flash?

I have an international unlocked version of the S7 and was wondering if I could flash the 930W8 Canadian firmware to this phone?
Unless there's a better answer out there...
As long as you're running the same Exynos processor, it's usually safe to cross-flash variants' /system (AP/PDA) partitions. You will definitely want to avoid flashing the CSC, and unless you're trying to access the Canadian carriers' frequencies avoid flashing the modem (CP) as well.
Make certain that you've got the correct firmware handy just in case of a brick.
I've used G900F roms for years on my old G900W8 (S5, not S7). Just don't cross-pollinate the stuff that touches hardware (i.e. modem).

The reason why is because I had previously gotten an AMERICAN SIM ONLY S7 from Amazon and I don't know what firmware it had on it. I was thinking it might have been 930W8 firmware. I started another thread about it, but short answer is that the AMERICAN SIM ONLY S7 ran a lot smoother than the one I have now. I have the international unlocked 930F now.

Go over to echoerom.com and get that rom. It's extremely smooth and fast. I have a Canadian s7 using that rom.

i am really wonder if it is possible to flash 930F firmware from a 930W8 phone, since i am helping my friend to fix a boot loop s7(w8) but i don't want to completely kill the phone.

How are you able to access the ROM. I tried and I'm denied. Also is there a specific kernel your using because it looks like the Canadian variant isn't compatible

OK I've tried every which way to get my hands on a Canadian stock firmware and it isn't happening. I cannot believe there is no way to Odin back to stock. Any ideas would be great

The US version uses SD820 whereas Canada uses the Exynos. You will likely soft-brick or even hard brick your device AFAIK.
By the way, the BEST way to get stock firmware pretty much directly from Samsung is using a tool called SamFirm. Google "samfirm xda" and it should be the first link.

g930w8 - mistakenly given?

I am with Rogers in Canada and was upgrading my plan that included a good deal on a s7 if I wanted it - they dropped the phone off at my office but I believe it's the Bell version - is that correct SM-G930W8? I've not opened the box as I plan to sell it - should I ask for the Rogers version, is it better for some reason? Thanks
Sorry, I'm a Nexus guy, don't know the Samsung phones really at all
w8 is the canadian version, when you pop in a carriers sim it'll download their appropriate bloatware.
SM-G930W8 - Canadian Note 7 (all carriers have the same phone).

Kinda, but im sure if you flash a w8 kernel the rom will work since all the roms are made for exynos. Your other option is the 930f which is the international version, but that's no reason to get rid of the w8.

Anyoneknow where I can get metro s7 Odin firmware

I have been having hard time finding stock firmware for metro s7 930t1
(THE LATEST )
The Few the links/posts on here I found from Dropbox or Android file host fail to flash back to metro . Since I flashed to tmobile firmware on day 1.
They were captured by smart switch and claimed to be good Tar files! For metro s7.
I don't know if my baseband on current tmobile firmware is to far ahead to flash back to any of the metro Odin tar files ?
Anyone have links or idea on where I can find it ?
For starters I'm on vzw 7.0 firmware on my 930t Flat ,feel kinda certain I'll have to flash tmobile first in order to flash metros?

i snagged with smart switch G930T1UVS3APD2 and G930T1UVU4APIA, but never bothered with the latest that has the november security patch G930T1UVU4APK1. Does the latest t-mobile firmware work for you?
Yeah I use the latest tmobile...
I think to downgrade you need the earliest compatible bootloader baseband I'm afraid if metros latest isn't available then I can't go back to a certain tmobile firmware in order to downgrade back to metro uvu4apia
Sent from my SM-G930V using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It's like metro never released there version of tmobiles latest equal update so by having tmobile latest I can't go back to metros version
Sent from my SM-G930V using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Here is the latest Metro, I can snag it with smart switch if you want. I belive it is just as current as the tmobile one.i have the G930T1UVU4APIA one as well
Great bro... OK then can you pm a download link

I'm still downloading so I'm not sure what's inside the zip yet.
A home_csc file does not wipe
A csc file will wipe your device

There's no home_csc in the zip.
If anyone needs just the USERDATA (I already had the T-Mobile zip), here's a link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eLPcD0yQFDSE-nEVHRQ_gCQ1dG5QmQk7/view?usp=sharing

Then either you can choose to use the home_csc and wipe, or not use any csc, and keep your data. I typically just leave it blank to be honest when I want to keep data.

Yes and no. WiFi Calling and all of the bloat will be there and it will work as long as AT&T doesn't realize you are using a device you didn't purchase from them. Once they realize you didn't buy your device from them, they will disable your line from using WiFi Calling.

I'm not sure. I was never an AT&T customer.
After giving my girlfriend my S9 Plus and her fighting with AT&T over the WiFi Calling b/s, because they would keep disabling it on her after switching back to her S5 Active to get it re-enabled. I finally got her to switch over to T-Mobile.

I had T-Mobile for over 3 years. I just switched to Cricket Wireless that uses ATT towers because at my new job I got earlier this year, T-Mobile had very bad service.

I can't complain about the service I have had with T-Mobile. In Virginia, it is better than most other providers. Blacksburg now has band 71 deployment and Hampton has pretty good band 12 service. In upstate New York and Canada, I haven't had any complaints either. Going up and down the east coast earlier this year, I didn't have any complaints, even after traveling through West Virginia. Obviously, other areas may vary.
On AT&T though, my girlfriend had no service in her Hampton apartment, no service inside of NASA Langley, and no service at her parents home in Itmann, WV. However, on T-Mobile, she at least has good service at home and at work now, including inside of the buildings.
Well I flashed this ATT on my unlocked 650U1 and nothing ATT showed up, not even boot logo. It showed the correct model as G965U and version BRJ5. Loaded everything in odin. Any suggestions?

The latest for the G955U is DRL7.
The ZSAB update is for the G955U1.
You will need to flash over to the G955U1 CL2 firmware in order to get to ZSAB. You will lose wifi calling and voice over LTE if you do so. (on AT&T)

No, AT&T requires its users to be on their branded phones. T-mobile is a lot more lenient when it comes to phones.
