TF300TG looking for TWRP with access to external Sdcard - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a TF300TG, bootloader 10.6.2.11 unlocked with asus tool.
I have tried various TWRP-Versions including 2.6.0.0, 2.6.30, 2.8.5.0. and Kang TWRP 2.8.7.2
2.6.3.0 is not working since it cant mount anything
2.6.0.0, 2.8.5.0, Kang TWRP 2.8.7.2 are working but I have no access to the external sdcard also I have access to the card in the file manager after booting into JB 4.2.1
I would like to know if there is a version of TWRP wich allows me to access my external card and where to download it.
I would love to use it for Backup and recovery.
Thanks in advance for your help
Tom

Please try on your own risk "Kang TWRP [email protected]" https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347781183.
This TWRP is developed especially for TF300T. But it should work with TF33TG as well if you are on the boot loader of the last ASUS stock rom "Jelly Bean".

Thanks ebonit, but no change. No access to external sdcard in Twrp including TWRP File Manager, but access when bootet into JB.
However KangTWRP seems to work, but without access to sdcard. What strikes me is that I have access to the card once bootet into JB 4.2.1
Further hinds welcome

Looks like a very bad SD card, well formated and working in Windows and Android but NOT in TWRP. Problem is solved with new Card.
Thanks for your help.

[Q] ClockworkMod Recovery 6 - no sdcard, no internal dirs! Help?

Bear with me, a noob in the woods....
Installed older version of CWM (5.2.8 maybe?) and it worked fine except no access to external sdcard. It did, however, let me browse around the tablet's internal folders and so I could install from there. But... because I wanted to do restores onto an external 8meg sdcard I have (and one I have proven the Asus can write to happily with OS loaded)... I decided to update CWM to ver 6.0.1.2. I did the update via the old version in a recovery session. But now, I get no options at all for directories I can access. Or am I being dense here? the sdcard will not mount and is not accessible. (Even tried reformatting it.)
I would like to install either a version of TWRP or a version of CWM that will let me access both internal directories and external sdcard.
The good news? I can still boot to my EOS (ver 79) customized ver of Jelly Bean. So I have the working OS... just no way to change my Recovery system into something useable. To replace it, it has to work to let me replace it! (Catch 22 big-time.)
Thanks for any help.

Micro SD Card not detected in Recovery (Team Win Recovery Project TWRP v2.2.0)

What I did:
- I accidentally wiped all data in tablet - ROM, etc. Only left is Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) v2.2.0 recovery console
- I put Android.zip (installation files) into Micro SD Card
- I boot into recovery (TWRP)
- TWRP does not read/detect the SD Card
- There is no files in /sdcard except one; /sdcard/TWRP/.twrps
I also
- installed adb on PC
- did 'adb devices' - no device detected when connect between tablet and PC
How?
Hello, I happy to know that I'm not the only one to have this problem.
I know it's my mistake and I'll be more carefull about doing these stuff.
I have the same problem as you, I wiped all data and only left TWRP(v2.1.5).
I tried to connect the TF300T to the laptop but I can't access to the root of the tablet (no device appeared in the window Computer).
I have all the drivers installed, also the adb, but in the "cmd" (win+R), there's no devices connected, so I can't put the original Rom to reinstall it.
So, as the TF300T has a micro sd card reader I put the zip Rom into a micro sd, but once in the recovery (TWRP) I can't access to the external sd, it doesn't appear.
Does anybody have a suggestion or have a similar problem?
First I would flash the latest twrp, (2.4.1.0) then d still a no go format sd card via fat32 (I personally like EXFAT) but only 2.4.1.0 can read that format.
Sent from my SGH-T999
"So I put my phone into airplane mode and threw it... worst transformer ever. -.-" -My friend
After v2.4.1.0 I began to see my card where before I could not, so I guess they improved this
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2
Same thing happening to me, I accidentally wiped system and my pad will not read the sdcard to flash a rom. Im on TWRP 2.4.1.0. Anyone have any suggestions please?
Edit: Tried a different SD Card (non SDHC) and its reading it. Lesson learned haha.
how should i update twrp , my pc do not recognize my phone anymore
How about we just tell it like it is. The people at TWRP don't care, as long as it wasn't THEIR device that this affects. Considering the last post on this was from March, I can say it seems they don't GAF. This just shows, though less visually appealing, sometime CWM surpasses TWRP without even trying.

My problem started when I upgraded my version of TWRP from 3.0.2 to version 3.1.1.0 that failed to recognize the sd card to install root and / or to store backup in sd, after much research I found no practical solution, and decided to do downgrade to version 3.0.3 of TWRP and my problem has been fixed
i have still the same issue cause it is unable to connect
because of drivers of my pc
there is a small not working sign on driver
i have updated that but not worked

[ROOT][TWRP RECOVERY] Onda V972 Quad-core | Allwinner A31

Hello, Everybody!
CAUTION : I'm not responsible for any damage to your device.Use at your own risk
I want to introduce to you a Team Win Recovery Project 2.4.1.0 for Onda V972.
I think it will be usefull and for Onda V812, and V971, maybe other A31 tablets.
That TWRP works on 32 Gb version of Onda V972.
Installation TWRP Recovery on Onda V972
Before installing TWRP, you need to get root. All latest stock firmware comes with root, you need only install Superuser or SuperSU from Play Market
Download the Onda_V972_TWRP.zip from that post and extract it to any folder on your computer.
Copy all three files from your computer internal disk (ONDA_MID on you computer and /sdcard on tablet)
Install the application Terminal on the tablet and run it.
From the terminal emulator enter the following command:
Code:
su
Press Enter. Allow access to the application or SuperSU SuperUser
Code:
busybox sh /sdcard/install-recovery.sh
Press Enter. This command installs new recovery to your tablet.
Code:
busybox sh /sdcard/reboot-recovery.sh
Press Enter. This will load the device mode recovery.
You can also use the standard way of loading in recovery - While the tablet is off press Home button and holding it press the Power button untill 4 core logo appears.
If something goes wrong, you need to flash the firmware via Stock PhoenixSuit and during flashing select "YES" to the question about formatting.
It is not bug free version, there is a error: Unable to mount '/recovery' I will try to fix all bugs.
I repeat: Use it on your own risk!
Credits:
Thanks to Dees_Troy and all TWRP team for great work!
Thanks to darkrickpr from slatedroid for base TWRP
Thanks to hariprasadiit for his CWM port and his post.
Thanks, i love you

Probably yes, a mistake was made.
If you load the default recovery, the installation on TWRP was not successful.
Did you get done after command busybox sh install-recovery.sh?
Do you got root?
Please, do screenshots of installation process and post them here.

Hi, Steve!
I take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent work SuperNova!
As regards that TWRP, I told, that it`s like an alpha version with a lot of bugs, and not everything working propertly. I just tested installing custom rom (SuperNova 3.1 and Iberica v.2) and it`s worked. And on my forum I asked people who have 32 Gb version of tablet if they can to install custom on their tablet, and they confirmed, that it`s work pretty good.
Just want to clarify a bit more on that as is currently working of that alpha version of TWRP.
When you boot into TWRP without external microSD card your internal memory (/sdcard on tablet and ONDA_MID on computer) will be Internal Storage in Mount menu of TWRP
When you boot into TWRP with external microSD card it will mount like a Internal Storage again, and there is no tablet real /sdcard mounted.
I also would like to note that in the Mount menu, item Mount SDCard will not work! Never! Now we are working on fix that problem.
But now, I made a new version, lets call it TWRP_Onda_v972_ver02 and it can mount both ext-sd and internal memory. But ext-sd you need to mount manualy, and we are working on that too.
In new version:
Internal Storage is a internal tablet memory (/sdcard on tablet and ONDA_MID on computer) Mounts at /sdcard
SD-Ext is a External microSD card, don`t forget to mount it manualy. Mounts at /sd-ext
Many thanks, my friend.
Now I can do the next Supernova wirh Aroma Installer :good:.
Greetings.

Hi, aryanitinkumar!
New recovery always overwrite the earlier one, so there is no big manual about installing new TWRP on old TWRP.
Today I compiled a new TWRP version for Onda V972 based on lastest stable TWRP 2.4.4.0
The internal and external memory mounts properly.
The internal memory is mounted in /sdcard
External memory is installed in the /external_sd
You can store backups on both the internal and the external memory.
External card mounted automatically.
Checked the backup and restore - worked great!
But now I publised on 4pda.ru to 32Gb version owners test it on their tablets. If everything will be good, I will publish it here!

Hi everybody, I do need some help. A few days ago, the tablet badly cusched. After restarting it, I noticed some application were missing, so I restarted again and got the green Emergency screen...
I wiped the tablet with PhoenixSuit and reinstalled the rom and everything went fine, but now every time I restart the tablet it looks like \cache and \data are wiped. That is, if I change settings or install any application and restart the tablet, these are all missing as if the tablet has just been flashed new. This happens with every rom I tried to flash. I confirm that I have no problem in accessing the recover (both stock and CWM).
As you can guess the tablet in these conditions is useless, any suggestion will be very appreciated!

Well. On my main forum 4pda.ru nobody wanted to test latest stable version of TWRP. Apparently everyone is busy updating the firmware to version 2.0. So, I decided to publish TWRP stable version here. But, please note, I have no positive results of using this version of TWRP for 32 GB version of the tablet.

[Q] Asus TF101 on roach-tf101-r2

Good Afternoon, Windows user here,
I've been trying to install Ubuntu on my TF101, installing CWM-recovery on top of my rom, katkiss 4.3
I didn't realise that roach didn't let you access external SD cards...
Here is my question:
How can i either access SD cards from roach-r2, or how can i flash a different Recovery that can access external SD cards.
I have the android sdk, but when i tried to adb push, my device wasn't there (it did show up in Device Manager). the drivers i installed were from This Thread.
Also, what would you recommend for a windows user to install Ubuntu on their TF101
Thanks a lot, good evening.

[Q] Not sure where im @?

Hi I'm a little bit confused and lost between stock recovery, cwm, rom manager and my new SD card.
I browsed 100s of threads and watch alot of good and some not so good videos but 'im still not sure what my best next moves are and why some things dont work.

I wanted to use apps like Titanium BackUpPro and Avast so I rooted my phone flashing CWM v3.55 via Odin and have been using it with out any problems for a while.
Then I decided that I would like to flash a custom rom like cm and I downloaded Rom Manager thinking it to be the right tool... ?
I let Rom Manager flash the latest version of CWM recovery 6.0.4.6 ...
but when I look on the apps on my phone I find CWM v3.55-Chainfire ? and
if I try to update I get directed to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238
When booting in rcovery mode my phone enters the android system recovery e3 and I get an Error message:
E:faild to mount /data (invalid agrument)
What exactly does this mean ???
Should I try flashing CWM 6 non toutch via Odin or flash back stock ROM?
I thought I would try backing up to an ext SD card so I orderd a SanDisc mircosd 64GB card but the problem still remains.
I still cant back up my ROM using ROM Manager or CWM
Why ? What happend?
I tried formating the SD card with ROM Magager but SD card fails to load. I tried formating with gparted fat32. Still wont load...
The ext SD card shows up in the file exlporer on my phone just fine but
I can't seem to be able to get Rom Manager to recognize it and CWM recovery isn't working.
So instead of backin up my exsiting ROM to the SD card maybe it would be a better idea to install CWM and CM to the SD card
and keep my ROM on the internal SD as it is???
I tried creating a bootable ext sd card with CWM and CM like here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_acclaim
but when it comes to booting the phone in recovery mode I still get the E:faild to mount /data (invalid agrument) message....?
How do I boot from ext sd card?
Whats my next best move?
I have a working rooted ROM on my local SD card with all my apps backed up in clowd. But my recovery mode issue remains to be resolved.
and I have a 64GB ext SD card with CWM and CM on it but I can't install with Rom Manager? because SD card fails to load.
Thanks for trying to follow so far!!!!

2- Downlad SuperSu root from: http://vk.com/doc167892454_171297436?hash=877f29ccdb4e944a70&dl=28aabb49a7217e1962, copy to your device, go to recovery mode and do 'install zip from...'
Second option:
1- Download CF-Auto Root from http://download.chainfire.eu/229/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.zip, extract and flash it with odin (that should enable root permissions in your device).
2- Download CWM Manager from PlayStore and do a flash, or better- flash the Philz recovery as above (you don't neet the root file)

Yep, follow it,
And yes- both backup and exSD use (called sdCard0 in the recovery), here's the developer's thread & guide:

Easy way to flash CWM or Touch wiz is to download EZ-Recovery from the play store, open the app scroll to recovery, click recovery and choose which one you want and click flash. Done. I personally like TW.
