I received a dual sim S8+ model SM-G955FD (CSC XXV) that somehow was flashed with an Italian (CSC-ITV) SM-G955F single-sim ROM ..
It works fine, even dual-sim functionality, so on itself no real issue. Even a recent OTA update went fine and did not break anything.
But I would like to flash it back to the original SM-G955FD rom for XXV. I have downloaded the proper file and flashed everything via Odin (AP, BL, CSC, CP) but somehow it now has become a SM-G955F (CSC-PHN) ..
Am getting a bit confused now .. How do I get the sodded thing back to its original CSC with Odin? The S8+ is not rooted, and Knox is not tripped.
Any help would be welcome

I'll try to explain in a simple way...
That your CSC now is PHN is CORRECT!
Since introduction of the Note 7, Samsung is using for most European countries (and some other countries) the Multi-CSC OXM.
In The Multi-CSC OXM, these CSC's are included:
ACR AFG AFR ARO ATO AUT BGL BNG BRI BTC BTU CAC CAM CHO COO DBT DKR ECT EGY EON ETL EUR GLB ILO INS ITV KSA LAO LUX LYS MID MM1 MWD MYM NEE NPL ORX PAK PHE PHN ROM SEB SEE SEK SER SIN SKZ SLK SMA STH THL THR TMC TPA TPH TTT TUN TUR WTL XEF XEH XEO XEU XFA XFE XME XSG XSP XTC XXV ZTO
As you can see, PHN & XXV (original CSC of your device) are BOTH included in the Multi-CSC OXM
Because you flashed the firmware with CSC_OXM (NOT HOME_CSC_OXM) your device was resetted. The initial set-up sees, that your SIM-card is NOT from Vietnam (XXV) so it'll use the best CSC for your SIM-card, in this case PHN.
When you have a look at the "Softwaregegevens"-screen, scroll down to "Software serviceprovider" you probably see "PHN/PHN/XXV" which is CORRECT! (The last XXV can't be changed, because this is the product-code of your device).
Because your device is using the "correct" CSC-file now (PHN), probably VoLTE & VoWiFi (when available) will work now too, as well as "NL Alert"...
You'll also (probably) receive automatically OTA-updates...
I hope, this made it some clear to you...
PS: the SM-G955FD will be released in The Netherlands too
PS2: the ROM's for the SM-G955F & SM-G955FD models are the same
Thanks for the clarification ... There is however one strange thing that remains unexplained. Phone Info identifies my phone as a SM-G955F, not a SM-G955FD ... is that perhaps because Phone Info is not able to correctly read out the phone details?

Correct...
Phone Info doesn't read the correct CSC information also...
I hope I'm allowed to piggy back this thread for a quick question relating to this.
I have the XXV dual Sim. And VMC is the CSC I need to use. I had to install it via twrp and works great.
But how do I figure out which one to flash from Odin? I'd like to see which one it'll pick closest relating to my Sim card. XAC is the Canadian but it's not included in the multi.
Can you help clarify this for me? I'm starting to understand this.
Similar question for me. Is there a way to install Canadian (Fido) CSC on an unrooted stock SMG955FD. Knox is important to me but so is wifi calling.
Help please.
thanks.

Model SM-G955FD
Model name Galaxy S8+
Country Taiwan (BRI)
Version Android 7.0
Product code BRI
PDA G955FXXU1AQJ1
CSC G955FOXM1AQJ1
When I look at the "Softwaregegevens"-screen, at "Software serviceprovider" i see "BRI/TPH/BRI"
Can i flash this one ? :
Model SM-G955F
Model name Galaxy S8+
Country PORTUGAL(TPH)
Version Android 7.0
Product code TPH
PDA G955FXXU1AQH3
CSC G955FOXM1AQH3
It'll change "Software serviceprovider" to "TPH/TPH/TPH"?
THANKS
Hi,
I bought an s930fd from Hong Kong to use in Australia on the Telstra network. Currently it has:
PDA/AP Version G930FXXS1DQHM
CSC Version G930FOJV1DQEB
MODEM/CP Version G930FXXU1DQE8
Region XSG — United Arab Emirates
I don't care about the dual SIM feature. Also, the phone will eventually be flashed to Lineageos 15.1 so I won't be using OTA upgrades.
Do I need to flash to:
PDA/AP Version G930FXXS2DRCF
CSC Version G930FTEL2DRBA
MODEM/CP Version G930FXXU2DRAC
Region TEL — Australia
for it to work on the Telstra network? Or could I use:
PDA/AP Version G930FXXS2DRCE
CSC Version G930FXSA2DRAC
MODEM/CP Version G930FXXU2DRAC
Region XSA — Australia
which I assume has all the right modem information and other settings to work in Australia on any network?
You don't need to if you don't want to, since internationally most networks work the same.
Mine was also originally from UAE, the firmware it came with it worked fine with Optus without any additional flashing. I'm now on the UK BTU because it's what my custom ROM came with and it's also fine.
I would say go with XSA if you're going to flash since that's the unbranded firmware and should work on all Aus networks, but won't come with Telstra bloatware.
The main benefit for carrier specific is carrier specific features like VoLTE.
OK. Given Telstra runs VoLTE, then does XSA provide it or do I need to go to the specific TEL flash?
Cheers
I think you need the TEL flash, as far as I know VoLTE settings are carrier specific
Does anyone know if its possible to convert Taiwan BRI firmware to Australian XSA firmware?
I'd like to use the Australian version of Samsung Pay and use 5G, as it does not work on my phone.
Thanks.
Nope, wrong model phone.
You can flash N9860 only CSCs
So I bought a galaxy z flip 3 from Samsung UK via the Samsung website but under settings the region, CSC is eux not BTU for the UK what does this mean?
It means you have a European edition. That's the blanket code.

On new phones, Samsung is done with country specific csc's on unlocked phones. All EU phones have the same csc, except the ones purchased through carrier.
Hello everyone,
Any idea on how to change the CSC of Galaxy Watch 5 models (incl. SM-R925). It appears that Samsung has blocked *#272*719434266344# or *#272*IMEI# methods to change the CSC. And it doesn't appear any stock firmware of GW5 is available yet to flash it with NetOdin in order to change its CSC/Region.
For reference, LTE network on the new Galaxy Watches is regionally locked. Meaning, if you buy the US version of Galaxy Watch 5 LTE model, it is unlikely you could activate it on networks outside of the US, including Canadian carriers. Unless, you somehow change its CSC and region. ( Carrier service cannot be activated outside of the United States on a watch sold for use in the United States. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00082122/#:~:text=Activate service,-When you connect&text=Note: Carrier service cannot be,a phone to activate service. )
Any hints or clues on how to change the CSC would be appreciated?

#csc #galaxy_watch #galaxy_watch_5 #samsung #samsung_galaxy #watch5pro #samsung_firmware #samsung_galaxy_watch #wearos #wearos3

And in US Firmware only US CSC scripts...

Thank you for looking into it. You are completely correct sir. Even if we could pull up the line with ADB, with GW5 US LTE (OYM) firmware, you are limited to those few options within US carriers as you explained.
However, if I could flash its stock rom with a stock rom of another region (e.g. replace SM-R925U1 firmware with SM-R925F) with NetOdin, then we could most likely change to the CSC of choice as well (in my case XAC which is Canadian generic). And since GW4 or GW5 are all universally using the same SoC, flashing different roms shouldn't be an issue.
The problem is I cannot find its stock firmware or combination files anywhere!!! Maybe it is because it's still so new, but even for GW4, it is difficult to find all versions. Unlike Galaxy phones, GW roms are not uploaded often.
For Combination Firmware you maybe not searched hard enough...

Thank you for your detailed replies. Only one question: suppose I could get hold of the stock firmware of F (international version), could I flash it with U, using NetOdin? Since GW5 (or even GW4) are all using the same SoC (hence same modem), I cannot think of any risks here to have bricks. Am I missing something here?
