Soft bricked S6 - please help! - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an S6 that I believe is soft bricked. It will only boot to the android recovery screen. I have access to the downloader as well as the recovery. The error I've been getting is "dm-verity verification failed... Need to check DRK first..."
Model Number: SM-G920VZKAVZW (Verizon)
Current ROM: 6.0.1
Not rooted
My wife received an OTA update to 6.0.1 the other day. Since then the phone had been very slow. I did a wipe cache partition. Now on bootup I get the "dm-verity" error. To make matters worse, there are a lot of unbacked up photos and such that I'm desperately trying to keep if at all possible.
I downloaded the stock 6.0.1 firmware from sam-mobile that matched what I had on the phone (the top of the recovery screen had listed out 6.0.1 and the PDA number so I matched it up). I flashed via Odin and got Pass at the end. On bootup I was sent back to the recovery screen with an error I believe still saying dm-verity check but then "failed setting up dirty target". I rebooted again and I'm back to the standard dm-verity / check DRK error.
Any suggestions on what I can do and still keep my user data? Thanks!!

S4 bootloop help! Are you smart enough to fix this?

I have an S4 SGH-I337 I'm trying to fix for a friend. It's stuck in a boot loop, but I'm still able to get into "Recovery Mode" and "Download Mode". The phone is not "USB Debugging" enabled, and is bootloader locked ATT... I assume. Owner says its still stock and he didn't try to flash or unlock it in any way. I've installed Odin v.3.10.7 and tried to flash a stock ROM from Sammobile.com, but got the message : Failed (Auth). When I tried another ROM I found on a blog about fixing a soft-bricked s4, I was able to get a PASS on Odin. I rebooted into recovery and cleared cache/factory reset after it finished but still have a bootloop. I tried adding a PIT file to the process and still bootloop. Why doesn't the ROM from samobile.com work if it's a stock ROM? Are there any other files I can flash like a new bootloader or whatever, or just the two I tried? Is it possible the hardware is fried? I'm not ready to give up yet.

Stuck on boot after 6.0.1 booatloder/MODEM installation using ODIN. TWRP inaccessable

Hello, good sirs.
I do believe I messed up my G920F phone.
Here are the details:
Using ODIN I installed bootloader/modem referred to in http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-0-t3094423
ODIN tells me it's a success, and phone reboots.
Now it's stuck here, at SAMSUNG Galaxy S6 screen, with a nice little text on top saying "recovery is not seandroid enforcing". I am able to enter download-mode, but TWRP I can not.
Prior to this, I used the XtreStoLite 5.1.1 ROM. Now I wanted to flash 6.0.1.
I tried flashing unikernel to resolve this, no result.
I tried flashing back 5.1.1 bootloader/modem - and ODIN fails to do so.
Am I pretty ****ed or is there a way to fix this?
I had the same problem as yours. Tried everything and no luck. But after I flashed the stock marshmallow ROM for the SECOND time, my phone was back to normal magically...
BTW, mine is 920I.
Just flash this via Odin; (If you're using G920F)
http://arter97.com/browse/S6/kernel/13.1/g920fi/arter97-recovery-g920fi-13.1-twrp_3.0.2-0.tar.md5
#2 I never got around to installing the ROM, even once, though. Our situations are a bit different. ^^
#3 "md5 error! Binary is invalid." is the error I get when attempting to load the file.
I have also tried with a .tar file of a 2.8.7.1 version of TWRP, which worked, but didn't help me get into TWRP -- the boot screen stays ingrained on the screen like a childhood trauma.
I have the exact same problem right here right now !
Help please ? For both of us ?
I had same issue yesterday, G920F, 6.0.1., used Smart Switch emergency initialization, and reflashed twrp/kernel via odin
any fixes for a 920T (tmobile) user? I have the same problem, phone is stuck on "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" but doesn't go past that screen.

[Completed] Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G902T) STILL Soft Bricked Even After Flashing Stock Firmware

First off, I cannot boot into recovery so this isn't an option for me right now.
Phone: T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T)
Firmware: Lollipop 5.0.2 or 5.1.1
**Not sure because I factory reset it this morning after updating to 5.1.1 yesterday.
Brick happened later in the day today.**
Rom: Successfully flashed TWRP this morning before brick occurred
Rooted: Yes, with Xposed Framework installed as well
So I rooted my S6 yesterday with no issue, then flashed TWRP today so that I could install Xposed. That went well until I downloaded a few modules in Xposed, rebooted my phone and the System UI kept crashing and wouldn't open. I entered recovery mode and attempted a factory reset through TWRP. Rebooted and got stuck at the Samsung logo with the "IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING" message above it still, so the wipe clearly wasn't successful. After that I realized my phone was bricked/in a bootloop or whatever so I kept trying to wipe it in various ways in TWRP. I even went into advanced wipe mode and selected every option (system, data, dalvick, cache, etc...even internal storage unfortunately, which I think screwed me).
Finally gave up and went into Odin (using latest version, 3.12) and flashed the SAME stock firmware I did the last time this happened (it worked then but not this time). Basically no matter how many times I try to flash stock firmware, Odin either gets stuck or fails. Tried both a G920T firmware tar.md5 file for 5.0.2 AND 5.1.1 and the 5.1.1 says passed every time but STILL does not get past the Samsung Logo screen ("SEANDROID NOT ENFORCING" message is gone now though, so I figure it did something) and the 5.0.2 firmware files just say fail every time. For some reason every time this happens all I can do is force restart the phone and enter download mode via HOME+VOL DOWN+POWER buttons but it just stays on the logo screen when I hold down the HOME+VOL UP+POWER buttons to enter recovery.
So I'm pretty much in a pickle. I'm at a total loss. I've done everything I know to do for the last 6 hours, including deleting the .md5 from the firmware files and all that mess. Can't find a .pit file in the firmware zip after it's extracted either and I've seen some threads say that I need one. I'm afraid this phone is a goner, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thank you in advance!
Hi !
I just want to be sure that you`ve followed the exact steps described here

Good luck !

SM-G930x Retail Phone Secure Check Fail : (PIT), help please?

So I got a hold of a retail G930x and was successfully able to install TWRP and factory reset with a stock image, only problem was that I never turned off the FRP lock, and when the phone was restarted while updating SuperSU my recovery was blocked. OK, no problem, just flash a stock ROM through Odin mode right? Well for some reason G930AATT1APB5, and G930FXXU1APB4, do not seem to work. At one point I was able to partialy boot into the stock recovery, but at another flash attempt my computer blue screened and I received the error message "An error has occured while updating the device software. Use Emergency recovery function in the smart switch PC software", but Smart Switch returns an error message of "Device Not Supported". I can still boot into Download mode and attempt flashes, but I can't seem to find a working ROM for this phone or a solution to the stock Recovery issue (which is most likely corrupted by now). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
edit:
edit: so I flashed a recovery image file from ROM.G93xF.XXU1DQFM-v18.0.by.ambasadii.zip and was able to get to the stock recover screen. Unfortunately i get an error message saying "Failed to mount E: /system (Invalid Argument)
Update from external storage is disabled.

S8 (sm-g950f) wont boot, reset, wipe and is stuck

Hello,
My phone(Samsung galaxy s8) just had a crash and is stuck on the blue screen with "Installing update". After several seconds the screen goes away and boots straight into the recovery mode.
The log that i see in the recovery is :
Fail to open recovery_cause(No such file or directory)
Failed to mount /efs
Unknown volume for path /odm
dm-verity verification failed
I tried to install the stock firmware (I cant link to the webpage but im 100% sure its the correct one) but it wont boot and goes to the "Installing update" again and after that to the recovery.
I tried installing twrp but it wont install due a FRP lock. i read that you should wipe your data and factory reset. Also tried that but again no succes.
Can someone please help me.
Thanks in advance

I'm going to take a guess here, you had the device rooted and then you tried to apply an OTA stock update while the device was rooted? Tyically, stock OTA updates can't be applied to devices that have been rooted because the updates require the device to have an unmodified system partition(no root) and they require stock recovery instead of custom recovery. There are "some" devices that can apply stock updates while rooted, but those are few and far between.
If that is what you did, you need to do some searching for repairing failed OTA updates on rooted devices.
