I understand that no difference besides LTE bands and Honor or Huawei label on the back, but the biggest thing is price, Huawei is much more expensive than Honor, so which is better for me for today?
Thank you all for answers.
This depends on the region you live. I use ths special LTE often.
Although 703 is offered on eBay, there is no permission to use it in some countries, because of missing CE conformity.
My device: 701->703 B201 xposed
There is a difference,703 use not the B20 (800MHz) Band.
Use in Europe, better you buy the 701 but stuck on Android 5.0
But you can the 701 convert in 703 and have Android 6.0 with B20

Hello friends,
I have an FDD-LTE MI4 and I live in Brazil.
I realized that the MI4 only works in the bands 1 and 3 of LTE, whereas in Brazil using the band 7, is there any way to unlock the other bands in MI4? I saw that this procedure is possible in other cells, but found nothing about the MI4.
I await response, and now thanks.

Pity no one has idea about this one. More xiaomi are vailable now throw sellers but it seems the LTE bands will not satisfy much countries.
I am in France and as you, if I buy I will not benefit from LTE...
I heard non-mtk models do support other bands but are locked because of licenses, don't know if true
Is there any chance to get the B28 Lte band working on 64gb or 128gb chinese model by flashing the international modem firmware?
Only the 32gb international 1 sim model has this B28 band avalaible. I need the dual sim stuff and the B28 band...
In France this band will start to be used by providers from april. My provider will use principaly this band for LTE.
If anybody has an idea, i'm listening to it
no idea, wed first have to figure out of the LTE band support is hardware or software-based before we can answer this question
Yep, that's what i ment by this question... If anybody already knows if it's the same hardware for LTE support than in the L09 or not.
Hope we'll find out.
ideally, we could potentially manipulate the modem.img as to unlock any and all available bands supported by the hardware modem
That would be great... but i'm a newbie in the dev world... So i have no idea about how to process to test things...
And i'm still waiting my mate 8. Hope i'll get it next week.
Hello,
I am also interested in this subject, it would be a good solution to unlock this frequency ....
Hi ? can install chinis software on international
yep, it should work
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10 using Tapatalk
Any news on this subject?
Just to let you know it seems that our mate 8 NXT L29 support the B28 band. Huawei made an update in february. You can see it here : http://m.huawei.com/be-frmobile/consumer/support/faqs/detail/index.htm?id=74232
Any news?? On B28

Hi all,
Looking at replacing my Nexus 5X with an Honor 8 from the US (FRD-L04). I split my time between the USA and Australia, and as such I need good band support in both countries.
In the USA, I use T-Mobile which looks as though it'll be fine.
In Australia, I use Telstra. They use the following frequencies:
LTE
Name Interface
B1 (2100) LTE
B3 (1800 +) LTE
B28 (700 APT) LTE
Supported LTE Protocols
Name Generation
LTE 4G
LTE-A 4G

I am a bit confused, because in some places it indicates that the phone does not support the LTE bands in Australia. But according to the HiHonor website, it supports all but one of them.
Any guidance on this? Thanks.
I've posted there details within the forum before, but here you go.
USA Honor 8 radio bands

Foot note; L04 & L14 same just L14 is 64GB

Hmm, see here is the problem.
According to frequencycheck, L14 supports B1 and 3, but not 28 and L04 supports neither.
But yet according to Honor themselves and even BestBuy, the phone should support everything I need for both Telstra and T-Mobile (except Band 28 which is no big deal for me).
So, which is correct? I'm sure you can see my confusion.

Trust the manufacturer. Honor official site will have correct info
I can confirm FrequencyCheck is incorrect. I can also, however, say I wouldn't want a phone without band 28 in your situation. The lower frequency should have much better coverage.

Hello could you please help me in deciding which of the three models to buy?
In Europe is much easier to find a 701L or a 702L than a 703L but I would be gratefull to know their advantages/disadvantages overall so that I can search for the most suitable one!

If you want less trouble then go with the 702L. You'll have Google Apps already installed and no Chinese Apps. The 703L is best if you live in China.

Does the 701 have Google Apps already installed? I'd prefer the 702 but the only one currently available for sale is the 701. Thanks!
If you get 1 X2 today, It will be a an old rom surely Android 5, and as Huawei online database is down, you will have to manually install a more recent rom. It means that any model you'll get, we'll guide you to have Android 6 or 7 with gapss and many other improvements.
So defiantly pick up any module if lte frequencies doesn't change anything for you. The cheaper

Thank you so much for your help!
I've bought a 701L from eBay today (there was no 702L/703L available); hopefully it will ship on Monday.
Am I correct in saying that the only Android 7 ROM for the X2 does not support the camera? I will have to use this phone to make video calls for work, so I'd have to have camera support.
B230 looks like the most recent Android 6 build for the X2. Can I install this on my 701L? The relevant thread seems to be unclear on whether this is possible.
Cheers!

Hello guys,
Unfortunately we still didn't get the Poco X2 for European markets. Here we are needing B8 and B20 for 4G at least. So if I buy the Redmi K30 from Tradingshenzhen and flash the Poco X2 ROM, will I get those frequencies as well?
Also if I buy at tradingshenzhen they also let me choose global ROM which is more expensive. I think they just unlock the bootloader and flash Poco X2 ROM themselves. Don't need it because we can do the same anyway, right?
AFAIK bands are part of the hardware whereas the software just optimizes the use case in that given region (i.e. it does not enable newer bands just by flashing s/w) - you may do further research on this.
Redmi K30 does support LTE B8 (900). Go to FrequencyCheck website to check if it does support your carrier in your country.
