I was wondering, if m is mate then p might be partner. That said, which one is better in overall usage if we just remove handling from equation. I have a mate 8 L29 looking forward to buying P9 plus. Share your thoughts please.
i guess it depends where your focus is. mate 8 has the larger screen real estate and larger battery, whereas P9 has a tad more cpu power (+8-9%) and the better dual camera setup.

Hello i wanted to know who's one is better than one plus 3 and honor 8 i want performances for 3d games photo selfie battery life and video recording i need to keep it for 2 years or i had another idea is to wait that the s7 price goes under 400 euros
what is the best idea for you
thanks
It was a very tough choice for me. I wanted a OnePlus 3 but needed a new phone asap and there was a 3 week delay. I got the honor 8 and have no regrets. The screen size is biggest difference. Also here is a link to a dual sim s7 from a company i trust. I got my honor 8 from them. I went with the honor because i got it for like $250 after all the bonuses factored into the price. Also I got it overnight shipped. I have ZERO regrets and love the phone

Honor 8 is a good one on camera and I always have good battery life on HUAWEI (I own a Honor 4x). Kirin 950 is powerful enough to run most games.
The only downside you may encounter is that so far Kirin is closed source and you may not receive future system upgrade (like from Android 5.1 to 6, to 7...) if HUAWEI doesn't provide them. For OnePlus 3, developers can work on it and bring you new system upgrades...

Thx but honor 8 will do not have Android 7 emui 5 but here i read that ROM custom are coming soon...
I was making the same decision the other week; in the end I went with the Honor 8 over the OnePlus 3 mainly due to the display. The oneplus 3 has a pentile screen, and based on reviews it's not the greatest screen. Personally, I didn't want to be stuck with a mediocre screen on a phone that I'll be keeping for ~2 yrs.
Plus, I'm hoping to use the Honor 8 to get better at building custom roms; the adventure of trying something new is exciting, versus the relative ease of building for the oneplus 3.

Yup, photo quality is good. It's a responsive phone, it could probably be better with a lighter skin (custom roms!) and some tweaks to the kernel.

thanks so i will order for nme he is better than oneplus 3 now ^^
i heard that honor 8 had bad video recording is it true ?
So I know what the differences are spec wise and I imagine the Mate 9 would come out on top assuming they went through the exact same usage pattern.
But has anyone been able to compare the two under real life usage?
Thanks
I have seen a few review charts showing the Mate 9 has noticeably better battery life than the Mate 9 Pro.
I have both the mate 9 and porsche design mate 9. These are very comparable but the pd just edges it.
Honor 6X flaunts with its Dual Camera in CES 2017.
Le Eco releasing its Cool 1 Dual mobile with similar Dual camera setup in India.
The thing is Le Eco features 13+13 MP camera unlike Honor 6X 13+2 MP camera.
So which one is best at this segment ?
How Honor 6X takes over Le Eco competition in Budget dual camera segment?
cool 1 doesnt look too good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiyzNbOUPNs
After looking for both camera samples, the 6x takes the lead
Honor/Huawei can give competition anytime for camera department in the similar segment (price group).

In terms of battery Cool 1 looks good. Hoping that 6X will shine in camera department and doesn't lose with others in its OS.

If the Price is same as Cool 1 then due to Cool 1 battery, Cool 1 will get boosted.
Pricing matters now in India.
I thought that Honor 6X will not only compete in that competition, it will win.
However, comparing 6X with Moto G4 Plus, G4 plus does good job in Video department and does similar to 6X in Photo.
So if it is priced in Note 3 Range, it will be the best. If priced at G4 plus range, it wont fit the place like Honor 8 did.

Honor 6X gives upto 10 hours SOT..using it since couple of weeks now. If do some modification, custom roms or little bit of tweak then can get more for sure.
Honor 6X Takes the lead
I have already seen a couple of shots that were taken with both the Honor 6X and the Coolpad Cool 1, but looks like the images from the Honor 6X are sharper than Cool 1. Also, the saturation is fine on the Honor 6X. However, as I haven't tested both myself can't just conclude which one is better. As far as pricing is concerned, I guess Honor 6X is going to be a more costlier in India than Cool 1, so if any consumer has a limited budget of around Rs. 15,000 than probably he may go for Cool 1.
Finally got a comparison Video for Cool 1 vs Honor 6X.
https://www.youtube.com/results?q=cool+1+dual+vs+honor+6x&sp=EgIIAw%3D%3D
Also seems that Cool 1 Dual has dual tone flash rather than the single tone flash in 6X.
5X was having the Dual tone flash. Sadly they removed it too...
Now Cool 1 is in better position offering everything at 11k while Honor 6x is available for 13K. So Cool 1 wins in terms of price, battery, everything. Its camera is also good and same as Honor 6x but the difference is overexposure in cool 1 which can be sort out by using pro mode and through software updates in future.

I am getting Coolpad cool 1 soon.
I will send the best opinion based on my testing as I also just want to judge both
Consider Moto G5 Plus as well
Tried the Coolpad Cool 1, it's good actually. As of now at this budget, Moto G5 Plus is one of the best in terms of both camera and performance. Coolpad Cool 1 is also almost same, with the perks of dual camera. Honor 6X is a little behind in terms of performance, though its camera is better than Cool 1.
I'm trying to decide whether to purchase the mate 9 or wait and see whether there'll be a follow-up to the p8 max, a huge phone... Was the p8 max successful enough that they might consider making a p10 max? I like the mate 9 but wish it had a larger screen.... How much the mate 9 screen size is an upgrade over a standard 5.5 inch phone are you able to see any real advantages especially browsing pages online?

Hadn't heard about it until today. Never seen one in the wild or even in the shops around Europe so I'm assuming it didn't sell much.

To me it makes a huge difference. Having come from owning iPhones I think it's amazing that you can have a device (Mate 9) the size of an iPhone Plus but with a 5.9 screen instead of the iPhone's 5.5 inch. Brilliant engineering. If you reduce the font size you can fit quite an amount of information in this screen. I'm sold.

I was coming from Nexus 6p and note 5. It's a big difference plus the phone is not massive compared to the 2 previous mates.
You can always look at the honor note 8 if you want something huge. Plus it has a 6.6 qhd screen.
First, forgive me if this isnt the correct place to post this question. I am in the market for a new phone. I currently have a 6s+ and it is tapping out. I am with Metro PCS so I buy my phones outright. If money weren't an issue I would do the Mate 10 or Note 8, but it is and so here I am. Please give me opinions on the best phone to get from my list. My biggest concerns would be making sure the camera is on par with what I have and the processor. I think the Mate 9 has a better/faster processor but not sure if it is much difference from the other two. Also I don't see the difference in the Honor 7x and the Mate 10 lite spec wise.
Thanks
as you can see at my profile, i own both models Honor 7 and Mate 9.
I prefer Mate 9 because of the bigger screen and the better battery and performance.
The Mate 9 will get OREO update in the near future!!!
Unfortunately the firmware of Honor 7 is no longer updated!!!
So the fw is affected of the BT & W-Lan security issue.
This can be fixed only if Phone is rooted and running with a custom rom.
At my opinion, the LG G5 (changable battery!)or G6 are also very interesting and inexpensive phones.
