No Android Pay? - Moto Maxx Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I didn't see anything with a search, so maybe this is just an issue on my phone. I bought a XT1225 that was previsouly rooted and has the Brazil soak test on it to M6.0.1. The phone does not appear to be rooted anylonger, at least according to a root checker app. When Trying to set up a credit card for Android Pay, I get an error saying "Google is unable to verify that your device or the software running on it is Android compatible."
Any clue how to get Pay to work?

Try flashing the released version of factory Marshmallow.
Just FYI: if you want Android Pay, you can't have root nor xposed modules. For me, it's not worth it. Easier for me to just take out a debit/credit card.

Hey Bierce,
I'm not sure if I am or not. The device was rooted about 6 months ago but I did nothing with it and I think the updates might have screwed it up.
Long story short:
Rooted about 8 months ago, I get the unlocked padlock during boot but I never loaded a rom
Downloaded terminal app today, got the $ instead of the #
Tried to root again via Casual and now its FUBAR (old military term, google it)
$25 via paypal to whoever walks me through this.

Rooting Samsung Galaxy Core Prime (G360T)

Hey everyone,
So this is pretty straight foreward, I'm attempting to root my Galaxy Core Prime (G360T, from T-Mobile in US) and I have had absolutely zero luck finding ANYTHING related that model number.
I've found plenty of stuff here, but it is all related to the G360H, G, and even the T1 (i think?) I've tried Kingo, Odin, and a few other things and I'm getting absolutely no where.
I'm wondering if anyone out here has had any luck with rooting this device in particular, or if maybe there is something I'm missing? I'm pretty new to the idea of rooting devices but I'm a proficient technically so I'm not exactly sure what is going on.
Is it T-Mobile software or something blocking the ability to root? I can't believe there is that much of a difference between my phone and say the G360H.
Thanks in advanced for the help, as I'm totally clueless at this point.

There are many of us using the MetroPCS version G360T1 that will gladly try any root method you get going. Feel free to contact directly if you need some testing help. While waiting for root, I tried Package Disabler Pro 3.7 that was released September 15. It works fine on the G360T1, although it says "Custom" under "Device status" in "About Device -> Status." Haven't gone to Download Mode to see if the triangle is set or not, but I'm guessing the flash counter has been tripped. I'm not worried about it too much, and it may have been tripped with some other attempt to root the device. Still, this app was just what I needed to disable all the junkware and still have a smooth working Lollipop 5.1.1 while waiting for the real goodies.

The thing is i got g3601 and its running kitkat and no update availble on it ??? so i am porting 5.1 for it.Recovery has been patched up and working kinda fine but need to fix alot of issues.normally i dont develop for mid range mobiles but my brother got one so that is why i started with this one.my first projects are z3 + and xperia lines.I will let you know when it is completed for testing.
Hmm, I thought this was for SM-G360T and the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime that is out for T-Mobile and running Lollipop 5.x. Is the G3601 a typo or different model? The MetroPCS G360T1 will work fine with the firmware and files from T-Mobile G360T because they are the same device and even same network provider. Anyway, it looks like someone was kind enough to modify the kernel source code the Samsung posted just a week or two ago. Here is the news, but be warned that it will trip the KNOX flag:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-core/development/kernel-root-root-sm-g360t1-5-1-1-t3203522
I put my G360T1 in download mode and it still says official and no warning triangle. I mentioned that it said custom in the About Phone page after doing other terminal entries and running Package Disabler Pro 3.7. Some may want to wait to root the device until there is a deodex'd rom out there to run xposed framework. I like the slimed down stock 5.1.1 and there are a bunch of garbage programs hogging the decent entry level device resources. More news to come...

I have rooted the g360t using the files from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-core/development/kernel-root-root-sm-g360t1-5-1-1-t3203522 which are for the g360t1 variant and it went well but you have to go to developer options and activate OEM unlocking for it to work and I did it with Odin version 1.85.

My specs:
Model #: SM-360T
Android Version: 5.1.1
Baseband Version: G360TUVU1AOF9
I migrated from Nokia 521 - Windows 8.1 phone to this Android device because of the litany of apps I could use for productivity. I am highly disappointed that I am unable to revoke permissions of applications to resources I think they don't need. So, I basically use phone to make calls and text. If someone has successfully rooted THIS smartphone version, please advise. I'm a little technical, too.
Try this: https://autoroot.chainfire.eu. find your model and download the file you need, unzip it then put your phone in download mode and use odin 3.7 to send it to the phone. That outta be enough. I have not rooted this particular device in a while but I have rooted plenty of others using that method and it works like a charm every time. I just did a quick look up and your model is listed there. Give it a try and post your results.
Thank you so much, Geevil!!!
Appreciate your response.

Yes King Root is bad. Pretty much like malware for your device. Don't use cf-auto-root either, as it's kind of a generic root and doesn't really function properly. I'm helping people constantly fix their devices after either tryung King or CF. Use Trapkernel to root the SM-G360T1 & SM-G360T. It's quick and easy and roots the device with no problems.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62859013 Here is the recovery you should use too in case anyone's wondering. You flash it the same way as root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=66266209
I recommend using version 3.0.1-0 though, as version 3.0.2-0 has had problem flashing certain roms for some reason.
Thanks bogarty, I was able to root and flash custom recovery on my phone with both links you provided here.. I have the T-Mobile version (SM-G360T) but everything went well
Dont know if ppl still trying to root this device but I just found out that you can download the rooting file trough chainfire for this model. HereĀ“s the link: https://download.chainfire.eu/767/C...to-Root-cprimeltetmo-cprimeltetmo-smg360t.zip
Why do that when there is a root method for this device.
Follow this thread here for all your root needs for this device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...should work just fine for the tmobile version
will this allow me to use a at&t sim card in my SM-G360T phone instead of T-Mobile

Rooted OC3 update to OG9 & Samsung Pay

I am rooted on OC3 with KNOX intact. Is there currently a way to upgrade to OG9 while keeping root and not tripping KNOX?
My main motivation is in using Samsung Pay.
With Android pay, I can uninstall superuser (unroot) and Android pay works. then if i need to do something that requires root access, i can re-install SU and do what i need. will something similar work with Samsung Pay?
will i simply be able to sideload the Samsung pay APK and Framework APK? or will i have to upgrade to OG9? is there a way to upgrade to OG9 and keep root & KNOX?
what are those of you in my same situation planning on doing?
thanks!
In the same boat. **** up the creek without a paddle.

Same as you: Stock (OC3), rooted, Knox intact.
I had successfully installed Android pay. Disabled root with SuperSU. Activated my cards. Re-enabled root. And I was able to make android pay purchases! I was a happy camper....for about 1 day.
Now every time I go to pay I get the message: "This card cannot be used right now." I have tried everything I can think of short of permanently removing root or removing SuperSU itself: different cards, disabling root, rebooting, etc
I was just in the Play Store looking at root cloaking. Has anyone had any success with non-xposed root cloaking? I was looking at the app: Rootcloak Plus / Cydia Substrate. Don't know if that would work on our devices or if that would screw up knox. Anyone know anything about it? I don't have an up-to-date backup so I'm not going to try it just yet.
Here is to hoping someone finds a solution....
do yo have a link for the samsung pay APKs? all the ones i have seen on XDA will not install.
also, did you install the framework or just the samsung pay APK?
thanks!
Samsung pay finally showed up for me on Google play. It downloaded and installed. When I open Samsung pay I get a message that says a software update is required. When I click the update button, Samsung pay closes and I get a pop up that says unfortunately Samsung pay had stopped. Will installing the Samsung pay framework fix this?
From all I've seen, you have to be on OG9 for Pay to work. You could try installing the framework as well, and see if that works. It would be installed automatically in OG9.
for me, samsung pay was more important than root. it was one of the main reasons i got the phone as i tend to forget my wallet a lot...lol. as mentioned by others, when trying to install samsung pay when rooted, it would ask to update. so i unrooted via SU and updated to OG9. as of now, samsung pay is installed and working. however, does any know if i can still get root? i read somewhere that you just have update the ping pong root app and reapply. however, i've also read that ping pong root will not work with 0G9.

There is currently no way to get root on OG9.
OE2 is the last rootable firmware version.
Is there anyway to downgrade OG9 to OE2? Accidently upgraded..

rooted unlocked H950 5.1.1 : "Android Pay error: unable to verify that device is And"
Hey all,
I got an unlocked AT&T LG G Flex 2 running Lollipop, popped a T-Mobile SIM in, rooted it, removed AT&T bloatware and some of LG. All is dandy except that when trying to add a card to Android Pay I get "Android Pay error: unable to verify that device is Android compatible".
I have read that for a number of people with other devices disabling root in SuperSU before adding a card works; then you can re-enable root. But that didn't help.
Did anyone run into that and/or would have suggestions?
I tried various things & nothing worked
Try xposed module so you can block the Android pay from knowing the device is rooted.

Tripped Knox, need help to get Google Pay

Hello All,
I've bought a new samsung s7, but tripped the knox while trying to root it, that's part of the process but after I did a factory reset with smart switch, everything was back to normal (except the void warranty of course) but the problem is when I try to install google pay, I get ; "Your device isn 't compatible with this version". More info:
- Root Check, says that my device isn't rooted AND that it passes the safetynet check
- I'm using it in France but the CSC indicates Poland
- I don't mind flashing another ROM or stock for another European country (thinking about getting the one from Germany as it is on Oreo already).
Can you please help me solve this and get google pay?
Thanks a lot!

I do not see France on the country list for Google pay, my S7 is rooted with magisk, and I do have Google pay working fine with my bank in the UK, check first if your bank is registered with Google pay before, do not know if the CSC could be important
