Problem:
Every couple of weeks, the calendar I use suddenly goes blank. The problem is always that "Calendar Storage" has lost its data. If I use Titanium Backup to restore the most recent backup of Calendar Storage, I get my calendar data back. But because of the way tibu works that is sometimes 3 days old.
How can I figure out what is erasing the data in Calendar Storage and fix the problem?
Thank you.
I really need help here. Calendar storage now blanks out all data every few hours!
I would like to reinstall the calendar storage app for lollipop 5.1.1 because it is obviously corrupted somehow. Is there a repository somewhere I can re-download it from and reinstall it? The calendar has become useless. Every time I restore the data from tibu, a couple of hours later everything is blank again.
Please help!
It is gotten so bad that if I keep the calendar app open I can see the data disappearing as I watch. There is something very wrong. It only affects the calendar. All other apps work fine.
I restored a nandroid from a month ago before all this happened but that didn't help.
Please help.

Hi, I've had a weird problem where Go SMS Pro seems to have disappeared from my phone. I clicked the icon for it on my LauncherPro dock last night only for it to tell me "could not launch the requested activity." I looked in my app drawer and lo and behold, Go SMS Pro was gone! I tried reinstalling it from the market but once it finished downloading nothing happened, and when I tried restoring it from titanium backup it made my phone reboot. Using root explorer, I found that the app still had data on my phone in several directories, but according to Android the app is not installed at all (so I can't uninstall to remove all that data and start fresh).
What I think may have caused the problem is that I used Apps2SD to move Go SMS Pro to my phone so that I could get the widget to work properly. Could something have been corrupted that way? Also I flashed Infused v1.5.0 yesterday, but I don't think that's the problem; I wiped data and cache, although maybe restoring the app+data from TiBu after flashing messed something up. I didn't have any problems until after I moved it with Apps2SD though.
Basically I want to be able to use Go SMS again (I prefer it to the stock messaging app), so I figure I have to delete all the old data from it from my phone. If anyone with a better working knowledge than me of Android's infrastructure could help me figure out which directories I need to delete data from if I want to be able to do a clean reinstall, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
I hit the button and nothing.... just stays in the email. tried clearing the cache and data. uninstalled gmail and reinstalled.... and loaded a new rom version (senseless extreme... but this is something that suddenly started..... was working fine for a few weeks)
Any ideas?? sending from the computer works fine, as well as saving the draft on the phone, and receiving, and all that fun stuff.
have you tried removing the account and re-adding it?
I remember somewhere else someone suggested what you have already cleared and account data.
It worked once for me with Desire HD but I suspect its all the when it comes to software
i would assume that loading the new rom and in turn signing into my account again would be about the same thing... going to try a clean load today and see if i can narrow it down
Has anyone figured this out yet? I have been having the same problem for months. The only way I have found to fix it is to reload the ROM (or load a new one).
I have cleared data, cache etc. I have disable and re-enabled syncing. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Gmail app from the market and nothing. I rely on Gmail for work so I really need this app to work. I hate having to flash my phone each time this crops up...
Have you cleared defaults? That's what got mine going again after titanium backup didn't restore everything correctly.
Just curious...? After you flash these ROMs, are you using Titanium Backup to restore any system or account data? This I know can cause multiple issues and GMail is very dependent on Accounts.
The "I can't send anything in GMail, but I can still receive messages." issue happened to me twice with my Sensation and I was able to resolve it both times by just clearing data from the application in: Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > GMail. I know you mentioned doing this and it not helping, but I just wanted to be clear on my experience with such a problem.
I'm on an Epic Touch 4G. However, I also had this issue with my prior Evo 4g.
If I do a Nandroid restore, gMail stops send emails. It continues to receive emails, but does not sync with gmails servers when I delete, archive or relabel an email. The only solution I have found is to delete the gMail data, and redo all my settings. Then everything works fine. By the way, restoring the settings from Titanium does not solve the problem. I've even tried delete the gmail data, then restoring the settings (and the entire App with settings), and I still get this behavior.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm having the same exact issue after nandroid. Won't let me remove the the gmail account be
cause it's my primary account. How do you delete gmail data?

thanks for that!
Unfortunately, I find this continues to happen. Even though I'm now on a Samsung Galaxy SIII. Something about nandroid restores breaks gmail. I have to clear data every time, and re do all gmail settings b/c if I restore them from Titanium Backup, the problem is not solved. So strange.
Same issue here.
It also happen for other applications.
What happen when you do a nandroid restore?

I just got this on my GSII with CM KK. I did an "uninstall updates" and it started working again and I didn't have to recreate anything. Then went to play store and updated Gmail.
Hello,
I had ARHD 3.2 and I upgraded to 3.4.
I must do a wipe, because the tablet reboot continuously.
I restored all my apps (backupped with Titanium).
I have a problem with the email client: my email account has been vanished!
I have 5 email account, each with its own configuration, it's very frustrating to reconfigure all!
Regards.
It's very likely gone, you can try restoring again, but most likely gone. Titanium glitches for me sometimes if apps store data in a weird location, maybe this is the case?
Make sure full backup of the app is always checked, too.
It was probably stored in a different location and not backed up.

I tried many times, with no good result.
I have a widget (from asus) that display unread emails, when I restore the email apps the counter says 6 email, when I open the email app, It load about 10 seconds (more than usual) and propose me the wizard to add new email account, and the count come backup to 0.
The apps is the default android email client, i restore only the data because is a system app.
Here's an interesting scenario/observation. It's annoying. I have no idea what it means. And, I would welcome anyone who can explain it to me. (TIA)
My M8, rooted, S-OFF, stock - was behaving very badly. Boot times were glacial. There were random hangs, and programs closing (mostly gapps stuff) at odd times, even during background tasks. I couldn't update programs in a way that would survive a reboot. Sometimes I wouldn't be allowed to update at all. I checked my memory, and WOW! there was 22Gb in "other". I tried everything short of wiping to free memory. But, I didn't really have much that wasn't going to the ext_sd anyway. I deleted and reinstalled messages+. I deleted and reinstalled email (use 3rd party, not gmail or stock app). I don't use other social media, or blinkfeed. I deleted what little lost.dir was around.
I finally gave up. I ran TB and backed up all of my files, SMS/MMS, and data. I made a nandroid backup with TWRP. I tried several different wipe combos and finally just settled on the factory wipe default, because it didn't make a difference.
I opened TB and put all of my progs back, imported my SMS/MMS, and reset my contacts. My email started back up and looks to be identical to where I left off. Now, my "other" memory is hovering at 12Gb and I have plenty of room. It may be that I have to do this kind of restore every 6 months or so.
Any idea what was bloating my "other"?
