New phone with resistive screen?

Hi there
I currently own a Touch Diamond 2 and I like the resistive screen. I like to be able to press with my nails and I feel better using this screen than all the new capacitive screens.
But what are my options? My TD2 is getting a bit worn out (already replaced the digitizer 2 times).
I would like a slightly bigger screen - resistive
Slightly better battery life - if possible
but are there any options? It seems like all phones coming out are capacitive

the HD maybe? or, the Toshi TG01 (if you don't mind switching to Toshi, with all its problems because not being supported by this board?)
They aren't new - but are only slightly worse than their successors (HD2/ TG02).
yeah that's actually not so bad suggestions. but i had the HD2 And i found it too big and the screen irritating. so i don't think i could live with the size and the speed of the HD -and the problems and size of toshi.. maybe to get a TD2 again, just seems weird when there are newer and quicker phones. out there...
Acer neotouch! with 1G cpu, 3.8" wvga! and resistive screen!
i hate capacitive screen too!, maybe it' good when you are young, but when you get older, your fingers is not that nice to you.
your fingers will get sore after awhile on capacitive screen!
hey netnerd! Cool that's a very good bet!! The thing is - I don't think it's released here in Denmark - trying to find out I wish it's bezel had been a tad narrower though - otherwise it looks pretty cool i think!

[Q] Making my own case for Huawei y200

So i broke the lcd and touchscreen on huawei y200 , and i want to repair it.
Huawei y200 has 3.5 inch lcd and touchscreen , is it posible to add 4 or 4,5 inches , and will it funciton if i find the right lcd and touchscreen that has the same connector as on the phone itself, and i want to make my own enclousre for him with a steel plate.
So if it work il make a bigger enclousure ,that will have 4 or 4.5 inch screen.
Info : Huawei original screen is 320 x 480 pixels, 3.5 inches (~165 ppi pixel density)
Hi. If your phone is still disassembled could you please make some pictures (as close as possible) of the parts/are around the connector for the touch. I have one Huawei Y200 with broken touch, but seems someone before me also has do some soldering there and now probably 2 components are missing. I need to find them and to repair it.
Here it is the pictures of my phone with markings of the missing parts https://7f020756c0196483ec34f0310fe6c795263a2e5c.googledrive.com/host/0B2QjEYFkNvr2b2RMMW53aENoWlk/

[Q] LG G Pro 2 camera problem

Hi All - I just recently got my hands on a LG G PRO 2 - F350L and noticed that the rear-camera just does not focus at all. I'm wondering if its a hardware problem. Has anyone come across this focus issue and know of any fix for it?
Thanks!
Nikko.
Did you buy it new? Silly question but have you checked its not in Manual focus mode?

i face this problem and i know it is not a software problem.. cuz i flashed kitkat and lollipop and cm13 and problem still exist.
but i do not know to fix this do we have to replace the whole camera and where can we buy one>?
this problem is due to blurness of lense(dont try to clean lense with water or a cloth use only micro fibre cloth other wise it will become more blurry)
i rep;ace the lens with a different one and now it's all good..but lost the ability of stabilization...

Phones that still have working touchscreen after cracking

If you have cracked your screen on any phone, please post here if the touchscreen was still fully functional or only partially/completely nonresponsive.
There is different ways touchscreens are built, some will completely stop working with even the smallest crack, requiring a very expensive repair, whereas others are not affected.
This will help people make purchasing decisions based on the durability of the screen. If you have a phone in the bottom list, it is highly recommended to use a tempered glass screen protector.
Will work with cracked screen (digitizer is built into lcd and is protected by front glass)
Huawei Ascend Mate 7
Huawei Honor 6
Apple iPhone 3G/3GS
Apple iPhone 4/4s
Apple IPhone 5/5s/5c
Apple iPhone 6/6 Plus
HTC One SV
HTC One M7
Nexus 5
Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Samsung Galaxy S3
Samsung Galaxy S4
Samsung Galaxy S5
Samsung Galaxy S6
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
Xiaomi Redmi 1s
XIaomi Redmi 2
Asus Zenfone 5
LG G4
Nokia Lumia 920
OnePlus Two
Honor 7
Will not fully work with cracked screen (digitizer is built into front glass, cracked glass = cracked digitizer)
Sony Xperia z2
Sony Xperia z3
Sony Xperia z3 compact
Xiaomi Mi3
Xiaomi Mi4
LG G2
LG G3
Nexus 4
OnePlus One
This is pointless. You need to understand how touchscreens are put together.
The first layer is the glass. This is also the digitizer, which recognizes touches. This can be cracked, broken, shattered, etc, and still function.
Under the digitizer is the display. TFT, LCD, AMOLED, whatever. Obviously, a broken screen can damage the display. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
Whether or not the touchscreen still works after taking damage has nothing to do with the brand or model of the phone or the technology behind the display. It's only the degree of damage that applies.

This just isn't true I'm afraid. I've seen completely smashed phones with working touchscreens, but one tiny crack on other phones will render the screen useless.
If you have ever repaired phones you will know about the different constructions. Some have the digitizer bonded to the front glass which will either become partially working or completely nonfunctional after any damage to the glass. Others have the digitizer on its own separate glass layer on the lcd. This can survive much more damage as the front glass protects it.
Bump, nobody here ever cracked their phones screen?

Thanks. That's the good thing about phones constructed this way, they can still be used for a long time and survive repeated accidents without having to pay for a full screen replacement each time.
List updated
Bump, anyone cracked their s6 yet?
bump
The galaxy s4 of my friend had a significant cracks but except for the hassle of cracks the device works fine.
Updated with LG G4. Finally LG have used a more durable display which won't turn your phone into a brick if glass gets cracked.
My friends Nokia Lumia 920 had lot of cracks but still works like a charm.. They build such amazing quality phones

Superficial cracks on touch screens with protective film on outer layer survives most of the time than exposed, unprotected digitizers... so its best to have your beloved phones protected with anything that can lessen shock on its panels. Having a cracked TS is better than a cracked LCD's....

My S4 mini is also still working. I would like to know if the new huawei p8 is so too...
Updated.
i think this depend a lot of how the phone was dropped,on which surface and a lot of more things...my opinion is that the gorilla glass is the safest protector of the touchscreen.
Huawei ascend g630 worked fine after the screen shattered
Past two years I've been through several phones.
Galaxy S4 - completely shattered, dropped hard several times after the fact... Dropped it in a mop bucket full of water. Still working.
LG Optimus G, dropped and shattered... Dropped again a few days later and it stopped working though the display still worked
LG G2
Galaxy S5 fell 10 feet off my deck and shattered. Still worked.
Note 2
Note 3
Lg G4
iPhone 4
iPhone 5 (almost as tough as my S4)
iPhone 6
Nexus 5
I really should start using cases. Probably won't be too long before I shatter the Note 5, stayed tuned.

[Q] Is Star N9330 Digitizer compatible with ZUUM N9330 Cell Phone?

Is Star N9330 Digitizer compatible with ZUUM N9330 Cell Phone?
Hi guys, I purchased a cell phone on Ebay that works perfectly, but the protective glass is broken. I was hoping to purchase the repair part, and fix it. Only problem is that I have not been able to find replacement Glass/Digitizer for my model in particular.
However, after some research, I found a cell phone that looks exactly the same as my phone. Going by the specs, it even has the same screen dimensions. But from what I have read, same dimensions is no guarantee of compatibility. I am posting pictures of my Zuum N9330 (broken, and when is new), and pictures of similar Star N9330 phone. Also a picture of the Star N9330 glass/Digitizer..
My Zuum phone is MT6589.
The posted description for the candidate Glass/Digitizer is: "5.5 inch Star N9330 Original Touch Screen Digitizer/Replacement for N9330 mtk6577 5.5" Touch Panel"
I thought that a possible solution is to purchase it and connect digitizer to phone just to test response. If it works, good. If it doesn't, then detach glass form digitizer, and use only the glass.
Please help with suggestions or comments.
Thank you guys.
Zuum N9330 and Star N9330 digitizer are compatible

Well, I think I found the final answer to my own question. After much Internet search I found a clue on one of the digitizers selling on the Internet. The Information posted is the following:
"Original Star N9389 Front Panel Touch Glass Lens Digitizer Screen Blue for 5.5 inch N9330 FWVGA 854*480 Phone FREE SHIPPING"
The webpage is on Ali Express website. I found it using "digitizer star n9330" as key words on the Bing search engine, to view all images that Bing displays.
This item is no longer available, but the information was valuable.
My last doubt had to do with the screen resolution, and this web page refers to the specific screen resolution of my Zuum cell phone.
I installed the AnTuTu tester application and found out that my LCD resolution is 480 x 854. Therefore, I conclude that both parts must be compatible, or the same.
I'm no expert on cell phone displays, but my guess is that the resolution of the LCD is probably much higher than the resolution of the digitizer. Since the tolerance for touch location on LCD screen does not have to be super accurate. But the fact that the info posted mentions my specific LCD resolution is an additional reason to conclude that both parts are the same.
