[Q] Verizon galaxy s III SCH-1535 just rooted recoveries no data

Verizon Galaxy S III SCH 1535 rooted with casual. Got root access but any custom recovery will not identify OS or any data. Even flashed back to 4.0.4. stock and and stock recovery will not work. I think partitions are different now or got changed some how. I have flash 4.1.1 stock image and got stock recovery back but Twrp or CMW will not work. First time I ever had this issue.

Yes several times. Used ez unlock 1.2 & 1.4 flashing all versions of twrp and cwm.
Flash stock ROOTED ROM through Odin. Use EzUnlock 1.2 (1.3-1.4 is broken). Use GooManager to flash TWRP. Done! Fool-proof.

I need to find stock rooted tar.md5 file as suggested above. I never had so much trouble just trying to get recovery to work. This is a new phone from Asurince. The partitions must be different. I'm not sure what the problem is.

File u need is in the 4th post. Follow the guide. You don't need to Reset flash counter if you are just gonna flash a ROM or custom recovery again

I just don't under stand why this new phone is giving me so much difficulty. I have another GS3 bought back in 2012 and no troubles at all, running Hyperdrive 16 rom works great. I've been trying to get this phone to work for about a week now. I'm not one to give up so easly, but I'm about to turn it in for warrenty. Sorry my spelling sucks. I hate being beat by software. There has to be a way.

Ok good material but a little confusing. So I need to use chome to be able to down load pit file and flash it with oden with reboot, F timer & repartion checked. Than reflash stock rom. Is this correct or I need to do something else?

Just like with this last ota, devs we'll have flashable zips within a day or two. You won't miss anything by being rooted. Flash away my friend.

from what i got is that to do the OTAs i need to flash stock recovery than do update, then re-root and flash custom recovery again. but idk if i have to re-root if i flash the OTA via custom recovery?
Hey when I did the ota update dude didn't even have to flash stock recovery I just followed the instructions flashed via my computer with adb once that happened stock recovery will be back on so then you just have to reflash a custom recovery and that's it.

You can't get the ota with a custom recovery. You need the stock recovery then you take the ota then you can flash the custom recovery again and flash supersu if you lost root. Some lost root and some didn't. I did
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
The purpose is to flash ROMs and if an update comes out, then wait for another ROM based on the update and never lose root. So flash away and enjoy the ride...

To expound on that a bit more, OP - this is assuming you have S-OFF/Unlocked BL so then you are able to re-flash the recovery, and, thus, re-root by flashing Superuser.
At least, that's what I'm thinking is necessary. If not then someone can correct me if needed.... =x

Towelroot didn't work on 4.4.4. Just reflashed 4.4.2 and towelroot is now working again. I guess I will just wait for Lolipop before I trip knox!
I did CF root that was done on NE5. Everything went fine for me. Just to try, I flashed the NE5 4-1 boot. But it hung on Sprint screen. Ran my backup and I'm good. Just have to manually go to rrecovery. No worries. Though, not concerned about knox.

As far as I understand CF Auto Root will work on this. Yes, it trips Knox... but it does give root.

bricked Galaxy s6 edge sprint

Few days ago tried to update my galaxy to 5.1.1. from 5.0.2, just succesfully. Than i installed TWRP and Wicked firmware and from SuperSu downloaded binary for root and restated my phone. It was a last moment i have seen it booted. After that i tried so many times to flash every firmware(original for sprint) in the XDA and Odin failed. Recovery doesnt work and phone doesnt boot at all, Just download mode. Have i any chance to ressurect it?
thats what he saying while trying to boot: Kernel is not seandroid enforcing custom binary locked by FRP lock(this is what blocking flashing)

Why do you want to update twrp when there is nothing wrong with it?
If you do update twrp to a newer version it would not reset anything.
Good luck,
Have a great day!
I'd also like to move onto 3.0.0.0 because MTP does not work on 2.8.7.1. I have tried everything and am unable to move anything off the phone in TWRP.

Nothing will be reset. Just download the version for your device in .IMG format and flash it in TWRP or via Odin. I have no issues with 3.0 and have been using it since it became available.
