No Camera Option in Pokemon Go ? - Xiaomi Mi 4C

Hi all,
i used xiaomi Mi4c for playing Pokemon Go, but i got problem with the game that i didn't have an option to use camera.
FYI, i set the permission all on in app and also set the permission from security to autostart the app. But still can't get camera working in the games...there is no camera option.
Before i used miui 7.5.3 stable rom and now update to 7.5.4 stable rom...still face the same problem.
Anyone could help me find the solution ? Thank's

Ask Pikachu.
Edit : only thing I found is that it needs camera, location and contact permissions. I can't see anything else relevant for you. Sorry.

Works for me on a mi4c running European 7.5 stable

No problem for me. I have a french Rom on miui 8
Envoyé de mon Mi-4c en utilisant Tapatalk

I know you said that you did this, but are you certain that in permission manager (hold down on app preview in multitasking, and you should see it at the bottom of the menu that appears) it is allowed access to the things listed in Keno40's post (green tick). Otherwise do you have root, because I have had incidents where it has caused unexplained failures with apps. Otherwise, although this is a long shot, could your theme affect GO? Anyway, good luck catching Pokemon!
Edit: Also, do other non system apps (eg Snapchat) have access to the camera? This may be a problem with your Rom, or just with GO, and this is an easy way to test that.

Huawei Honor Waterplay Tablet (3GB / 32GB)

Hi,
since I can't find much on the interwebs, maybe a huawei wizz can help me here.
For Christmas I imported the honor waterplay (non LTE 3GB/32GB version) (since it was fairly cheap and, well, IP67... so it can function as a ebook reader while in the bathtub/jaccuzzi) and also has a beefy battery.
The issue I have is: on huawei's website I can not unlock the bootloader, If you use EMUI 5.0 you can select tablets, but the waterplay is not recognized. If you select 5.1 (which the waterplay has) you can only select Smartphones. I contacted Huawei via Mail but 10 days running - no answer. - so is there a way to unlock it so i can flash magisk?
Second Q: Is there a working exploit to get at least root running? adb via usb is not working, on click root apps failed (as well as the windows supported ones like kingo etc.)
thirdly: does anyone know if the waterplays' hardware is similar to a lineage os version of another tablet ? (I'd love to have a L-OS on that, not only for root but some apps loaded with yalp annoy me, they work but always a popup google services are required...)
btw: the tablet is impressive for the money (260€) ereader mode it lasts days (was reading some GoT for hours), playing games is good (my nephew played 4h on christmas and it only lost 40%), overall system is responsive. it has a fingerprint reader which works ok and can be used with gestures. All it misses is a fully google supported rom. Sound with the 4 Speakers is actually good - you can even watch streams/movies without sounding too tinny.
thanks in advance for any suggestions / support
cheers
@ moderators: if this is wrong here, please move it - I did not want to hijack any honor forum for this, since there is no section for the waterplay yet. thanks
Hey Buster... im in the same position as you... love taking it in the shower so i dont miss anything.... but need a rom of some sort to open things up..... we can only hope the guys who know will give us a hand... pinky

You need to have 2 files to enable Google Play service on the Waterplay.
You need the Huawei gms services apk (com.huawei.gmsinstaller.apk Ver. 1.2.0) , and then an google play installer (com.goplaycn.googleinstall.apk Ver. 4.8.1)
Both of these can be found easily using google search.
You need to install the gms service apk first, reboot the tablet and then install the google play installer to get the playstore app on your tablet. You might need to wait a bit after the playstore is installed for the Playstore app to update itself to the correct version before selecting the app.
Once the you select the app it will ask for your google credentials and you can go from there.

I agree!
For me it's the best ROM for LeEco Le S3 X626. Polish translation even in not 100%, it's better than in the stock 28S.
No bugs found after nearly one month of use, Google Apps included & working, Magisk and Xposed also here, good SOT (after battery optimization). I recommend! :good:
The Greek language is very bad is there any way to contribute myself to the translation
Best ROM for LeEco S3 x626 so far
First of all- sorry for my English, not my native language.
I've registered on XDA dev. forum only to comment about this ROM. This is my first post here. I have tried 2 or 3 other ROM's before I've flashed this one and every single one of previous roms has got some issues: etc. roms filled with chinese bloatware apps, camera has dark picture (can't correct in settings), application crushing, wifi module suddenly stopped working , battery drains faster even in stand-by and over night... and so on.
This ROM work perfectly! By my opinion this is the best ROM for LeEco S3 x626 so far (Feb 2018.)
This is the perfect combination of latest original stock firmware and customized firmware with some preinstalled applications like Gapps & Magisk and phone comes rooted by default after flashing.
No bugs yet, camera is working nice (haven't tried 4K video though), battery life is good, Infrared module is working, fingerprint reader also, GPS module is working precisely, fast charge is present in firmware settings (you can switch it ON or OFF), quick pulldown menu contain brightness slider with ON/OFF module switch ribbon (original factory firmware doesn't contains this feature). And the greatest thing above all (at least for me who fought with chinese pop-up advertisements and bloatware for about two weeks - there is no chinese advertisements and applications, no unnecessary chinese software too.
If I found any bug - I'll post info about that here in this thread. So far - none. Highly recommended ROM for LeEco S3 x626.
Question for @sootec : You have mentioned "battery optimization" in your post. Have you thought about "Battery assistant" option in battery settings menu or some application specialized for that task? And if it is an application - what is that app name?
there's a thing about EUI I don't like is how it won't let apps run normally on background, and I lose important message notifications. this is rom is stock-based, right? is it that aggressive too?
A wonderful ROM with long battery life
There are no bugs currently on my phone
The only disappointing thing is that pre-installed Magisk can not pass SaftyNet check
Both ctsProfile and basicIntegrity get 'false'
Is this me alone?
If anyone has a solution please let me know

Not sure, but after my phones been flashed it is now only showing 3G where it should be 4G.
* I've now sorted out the issue. I had to manually input the APN settings for my provider*

Thanks for that info. I've always wondering why my phone is showing 3G instead 4G.
Hi
my daughter have this rom on her X626. ROM work absolutely perfect except 1 thing.
Notifications not working. For any app and for SMS. She have to open app and then she can see messages she get. In SMS app too. That is not acceptable to us and how to resolve that?
First few days all worked like a charm but after 4-5 days notifications stop coming.
Any help will be fine, because we love this rom a lot. The best for this phone I have ever tried.
Thanks to developer for this work :good:
Problem solved
daughter said that she did not touch any settings option...but...she is, of course...and turned off notifications for all apps turned it on and all work perfect again!
The very best rom for this device.
Congratulation to dev :good::good:

Camera lag

Hi guys,
I have a problem, i just received my find X2 pro and it's perfect. Almost perfect.
I don't understand why but my camera is lagging when i use Snapchat or TikTok for exemple (15fps). It really works with the default app camera but not with the other apps.
When i use TikTok, i think the app use the preview of the photo mode and not camera i guess
Do you have a solution for this problem ?
Thanks
Did you already update to Android 11?
I just update the phone.
I have ColorOS 7.1
But Android 10
Well Android 11 / ColorOS 11 is already being rolled out but depending on where you live it might take a few weeks until you'll be able to download. There's also a guide on how to change region code which will let you download it right away if you don't feel like waiting. Anyhow maybe the update will solve your problem.
Ok i see. I just look some articles for Android 11. I'm from France, i think i'm gonna wait a stable version of this ROM.
Thanks
I just discovered something, when i'm outside, the camera works perfectly with every apps but not when i'm inside m'y house. I think it's maybe the lighting
Do you have an explication ?
Unfortunately the Find X2 Pro doesn't play nicely with social media applications, apps such as Snapchat & WhatsApp struggle with microphone volume as well as the issues you're experiencing, unless it's brought up to Oppo directly I can't see it being fixed anytime soon as it's still just as bad on ColorOS 11

Install Gcam on Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S? What's in it for me?

Hi fellas,
I recently bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, and aside from the fact that it's still running Android 10 over MIUI 12.0.3.0 (Global / EU since I'm in France) when everybody else and their cousin seems to have switched to Android 11 already, everything's peachy with the phone.
My question is borne more out of curiosity than necessity: How better would my photos be if I installed Gcam (Google Camera), rather than keep on using OpenCamera or the Xiaomi app the phone ships with? Would I really see an improvement in the way the Gcam software treats images?
If you think I'd get to gain from the install, then a second question comes to mind: How to install the config file that comes with most of the builds I've found here and there? Last time I installed Gcam on the phone, the config file came separately, and however hard I tried to follow instructions, I never managed to load the config file, so I ditched the app altogether. Patient, I am not for that kind of thing, I'll confess.
So, what gives?

gcam use some algorithm to enhance photos to high dynamic range (HDR). you may get better image if you use proper gcam made for your phone.
secondly, config file can be loaded in settings of most gcam. you can use youtube or any tutorial to see how to load configs.
Thanks for your reply, Bhanu. It was my understanding that what Gcam does, mostly, is to apply some sort of software "magic" to what the sensors record, and in this respect, the 48MP main sensor on the Note 9S isn't too shabby, so I'd really like to give it a try, but as I said in my OP, every time I did what was advised in the tutorials I read, i.e. press somewhere in the camera interface (left of the capture button), I always got the same "no config file to load" message, although I had a config file waiting to be installed, one that I had downloaded along with the Gcam .apk file, so I was wondering if there were APKs that already contained said config file, and if so, where can I find them?
For example, this article points at two different builds based on Gcam 8, but it doesn't mention where to find the config file that goes with either one of them.
hi, i like the way you replied,
about gcam i have found v7.4 its recommended to use v7 because they are relatively stable.

just open app and go to settings and developer settings and disable use google photo to use it.
or simply install google photos to make this version work.

Question Stock Camera missing

Hello there,
after updating to c.61 eu my stock camera app from op disappeared and I have no clue how to get it back without a total factory reset. I hoped this missing app will change with the update to c.62, but... no.
I already tried to install the stock camera apk from several sites, but up till now no luck at all.
Did you have an idea? Maybe via fastboot comands?
Best
Exact same problem, for now I'm using GCam Mod as an alternative but it's really frustrating and it lacks quite some stuff from the stock camera.
Updated to C62 too (and I also used full ZIP to do so), still camera missing :/

If you Came from A11 11.2.10.10 and updated without unhiding your apps this is why. Launcher and route to hide apps is different from A11 to 12. Rehide after update. And yes factory reset is only way your gonna get cam back.
@mattie_49: I was already on c.47 and everything was fine I did not understand what you mean by hiding apps. Can you clearify it somehow?
Unfortunately I never hid my apps, I don't think that's the cause. The camera app doesn't show up in the system apps list, and I noticed that the calculator is missing too for whatever reason, seems like there is some issue with system apps. One thing I noticed is when trying to shoot in 4K with the Gcam Mod it crashes and it leaves a log in the download folder where it says Camera HAL package not found, but it could just be an issue of compatibility with Gcam and this specific phone. Still trying to find a solution as there is such a huge difference between the stock camera and Gcam.
Could someone please upload the APK for the camera app either from C48 or if you have it on C61/C62? I'd be really grateful, perhaps the APKs online are just from different imcompatible models
I'm on the same boat guys... Cam app is missing after update from C48 to c62.
Update : I've been diging and it looks like it's gone for good. It's not in, hidden app, button shortcut are not working and adb shell cmd package install-existing com.oplus.camera is without effect.
Tell me I don't have to do a factory reset....
I fear you have to....up till now I was not able to get it back...if somebody know it better and could give and it would be great
I have spent a big amount of time searching and the only solutions seem
1) Factory reset (atleast from what a user claimed, although he might have been affected by the whole hiding apps thing)
2) Possibly try to install again the same update over using the local update method (haven't been able to test it).
I still think that if somebody would be so kind to share the APK from a working system we could try to install it, but so far nobody chimed in. Also I tried multiple times just for the sake of it to turn on and off privacy features (I never used them in the first place), and the app isn't there either, just like it doesn't show up in the app list.
I'm using this as a temporary workaround, but it's not as great.

Thank you so much! At first trying to install it would give INSTALL_FAILED_TEST_ONLY, however using "adb install -t name.apk" managed to install it. That said when you open it it immediately crashes like other apps I've tried from APK mirror, I'm on EU device and only have C62 as latest version but I don't really think the issue is that your camera build is from a newer build, although if anyone wants to share a C62 APK feel free just to rule it out.
adb logcat gave me a bunch of errors when opening the camera app, I attached my logcat here if anyone wants to take a look (although it seems pretty messy, perhaps you'd have better luck logcatting your own).
It really feels like for whatever reason OnePlus messed something up with these updates (and I guess only for some people, could be only on EU devices), either forgetting to include some stuff or perhaps for whatever reason something is misconfigured in the /system or /data partitions after updating, and maybe a clean install wouldn't have this issue (or a reinstall of the same update in full ZIP on top)
EDIT: for whatever reason can't upload the logcat :/
Finally found a solution!
After such a long time searching, and not really wanting to do a factory reset, now that OOS13 was out and I still didn't have the camera, I decided to use the .zip from Oxygen Updater to do a second full upgrade (on already updated OOS13), and it restored a lot of the apps and some other stuff that was missing! Yay! (Of course remember to root again before update reboot)
But, the camera force closes as soon as I open it, so I still need to find a fix for that, unless factory reset is the only solution :'(
EDIT: Finally, I feel like starting to cry now, I needed to disable the camera app, enable it again, cancel data and grant all permissions manually before opening it, and it works, I hope this helps out others!
EDIT 2: I was missing calculator, clock and other OnePlus apps, as well as the new OOS13 sidebar, now they're all back, so if you have issues try this!

Thanks for writing this mate! I am having the same problem, no stock camera, no clock. Many icons missing!
Wil try this now!
This just confirms my theory, whenever installiing a new major version, a total system reset should be made to avoid problems. I installed this thinking it was another 12 update.
Solution for me:
LE2115_11_F16 (Android 13) is here
Hi everyone, Still new to OnePlus and its update/upgrade cycle, so sorry if you already know this, but my 9 just got updated to 2115_11_F16 and Android 13, with the October 2022 security update. That's it, that's the tweet... :) EDIT: it's...
