Hi everyone,
Smartphone reviews are more and more complete as the competition between review websites increase but there is always a test kind of missing: signal reception.
Indeed it's hard to find data about it over the net. Some phone makers are happy to communicate about some technology they develop, and some just don't.
Nowadays it seems that all that matter is photo quality, design, autonomy and the screen. At long as you got a "bar" (which doesn't mean anything as we know) consumer seems to be happy... lol.
I found some comparisons that AndroidAuthority made, but that's about it (I can't post outside links yet...):
- Xperia Z5, LG G4, Galaxy Note 5, iPhone 6S, Moto X Style ( /best-lte-xperia-z5-x-style-note-5-iphone-6s-lg-g4-648755/ )
- Galaxy S6, LG G4, Huawei P8 ( /best-4g-galaxy-s6-v-huawei-p8-v-lg-g4-612827/ )
Over here they look at signal strength (near -60dBm being perfect, and near -110dBm being call failure), network switching rate, drapped calls, etc, which give you some clues.
Snippet (can't add images yet...):

The point is to find with what phone you really have a change to get a nice signal (just to receive a call or to get stable data coming through), when some will just drop. Apparently Huawei got a little something better with their Signal + technology, when Apple seems to do good too, but the "king" Samsung seems to be quite crappy about it, even if review websites do not reflect it.
What do you think? Any trouble with your Samsung? Huawei owners do you really see a difference? (and not just about "bars" at home).
I guess it should be a good selling argument stating that your phone is having a better signal than the others (if you are traveling a lot, when hiking, during highway drive, using less battery if your antenna is less stressed, etc).

wow, that was fast! I did not expect an MDA 4 photo out so soon!
Hi one and all,
It's a nice pic of the unit, but it looks like hybrid of the Sony clie PEG-UX50 and a Danger Hiptop Sidekick. Since I have gotten used to my MDA III, I would'nt want to upgrade to PDA phone with something slightly bulkier and a unit that might not be that durable with all the swivels and hindges over a constant peroid of use. They should keep it pocket size, yet powerful with a faster processor and of course more memory and the most important thing...... Better and stable Bluetooth, Wifi and cell Radio. Anybody want to add to this? Cheers!

I just read about this. Wow factor aside, I don't think I shall be changing from my Magician any time soon. That thing has to be huge.
only 1 company yet here who offer utms
and thats 3 and their cover is poor when it comes to
utms and most people seem to spend most their time
on gsm
if i were to get a new device then i would get it to get utms mainly to get
faster internet since gprs is too slow for my patience
Contract us up, And there is alot to pick from,.
Currently have the HTC Desire, While this is a good phone, its time for a change.
Had my eyes on the Galaxy S II.
Looking for a phone to take me over the next two years like the HTC Desire has
(First phone to ever last me 2 years! that says alot about it)
Anyway What phone are you Guys using, How you finding it?
Battery Life
Performance / Lag
Call Quality
Camera
How it feels in your hand.
**** No Need for Iphone Recommendations, I have the Iphone 4, As a company phone that is enough for me, Android for a Personal phone!! Cannot live without it *******
Cheers
I think you should check Nexus S...It's Android and I'm still hesitant to root it and install new ROM because the original one is quick, the phone does not freeze, super-fast, big screen...I also got an extended battery for it that keeps it alive for 2 days. Perfect phone.
Battery Life - Mugen Power
Performance / Lag - Very fast, crashes very seldom.
Call Quality - No issues here
Camera - has 2 cams (5 mp primary and 1 for on front for calls etc)
How it feels in your hand. - Comfortable.

What he said
I was talking to an iPhone owner about the internet situation at his house when I asked him why he just doesn't tether if he has good phone reception
To which his reply was" if I tether my iphone then I'll have to connect it to the computer to turn it back on' when clearly what he was thinking was a tethered jailbreak. And not wireless internet
To which I laughed hard for about 5minutes solid.
This got me pondering about other people's experiences with iSheep so please share and discuss them here!
Most of you may have heard of this, i ask my friend why she wanted to buy a 4S, and she replied:
"It's got Siri"
And i was like

Swyped from my GT-i9100
I have one. My friend posted a siri vs google now vid on his timeline and of course google now trumped. The ishep convo goes like this:
Isheep, upon seeing the video, simply said:
Nope
Smart person:
Explain to me why siri is better.
Me: IPHONES SUCK
Isheep:
Siri is better because it's still really fast, and the droid only beat it by fractions of seconds at some points. It also gave more out more data than its competitor, and was more visually appealing. I also personally don't care which sounds more human like either.
Me:
Wrong on all counts. Android was WAY faster on most tests and it is MUCH more appealing. It did not give out more data whatsoever. Also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grmixtB9dZM
Smart person:
In most cases people want data immediately, not more of it. And siri only displayed more data once.
Isheep:
Yeah but it did give it out immediately. I don't think most people would care if you get data in 2 seconds vs 2.5 seconds, or even 2 vs 3 seconds
Smart person:
People want information and not those little "additions" that say "the weather looks good outside today."
Idk why but this just makes me laugh...

This is not a trolling topic. This came from a casual Z3 user.
I pre-ordered the Z3 on Sony store and got it. The phone was great, screen was pleasant to look at, no lags ever happened, but there were too many cons that took over the pros imo:
- The battery was not that great, I've installed GSAM App since day one, and now the average screen-on time is only 5 hours, maximum is 6h30m. I've tried resetting the phone via Pc Companion... no luck. I mainly use the phone for Facebook, Web browser, taking pictures, and music, no heavy games.
- I've dropped it several times due its f*cking slippery glass panels. So far there's no crack but the aluminum sides are slightly damaged.
- It's so uncomfortable to hold. Sony made premium phones for sure, but it's not practical... the Z3 is just a beautiful metal slab but not really a phone. In my opinion, the curved back is much much more comfortable to hold in hands.
- Wifi range is horrible. I've tried putting the Z3 next to the LG G3 and Moto G, the Z3 lost signal frequently, the other 2 were fine.
- Glass back panel = fingerprint magnet.
- Finally, the most disappointed feature - Camera. I don;t know what the heck Sony did to their Z3, but the camera is just average to me. Plus it does not focus well while recording videos, even with normal macro shots; Superior Auto sucks; too tiny flash; a lof of Noise; a lot of disappointments.
- Not to mention that it fails so badly on cosmetic look. Huge gaps; unsymmetrical panels; bulging nylon corners. They are not a big deal for me, but compared to other phones in terms of cosmetic build, Sony has to work harder.

Hello guys.
Some time ago I purchased a Korean variant V50.
The phone is really nice all but after a few days I noticed that the WiFi aignal strenght is much worse that my wifes P20 Pro.
As I'm using an unlimited mobile data plan and my carriers 4G coverage is flawless, I never bothered.
But then a couple days after I went to use G Maps to get somewhere.
And funny enough, the GPS wasn't working properly.
I did some tests and noticed that where my wifes phone was picking up coverage from 20 odd satellites with perfect strenght and under 1 meter accuracy, my V50 was only finding around 5 satellites, and even those with an accuracy of over 8-10 meters.
So after some reading I concluded that my phones WiFi and GPS antennas are either faulty or simply contacts are not touching, as I have experienced in the past.
I contacted the seller and he was nice enough to send me all the antennas, all original, pulled out of a screen damaged V50 Verizon I believe.
I'm not worried about that as they are physically identical but want to ask you guys if you know which one of these is the WiFi and GPS antenna.
Please see photo.
Thank you

Found the issue.
The phone is refurbished so the back cover isn't original.
I believe the paint on it is metalic.
The moment I removed it, my GPS locked to 30+ satellites.
Just leaving this here in case others are having the same issue
I thing wifi anthena is on the biggest part with wireless charging anthena. the bottom part seem to be from american version LMV450 and probably will not work correctly. Also check out charging connector part for the version.
Please Help to resolve the problem with lg v50
Hello everyone, I have a problem with my lg v50thinq. I bought it, refurbished by aliexpress, and it came with a bootloader problem, as shown in the photo: this wouldn't be a problem if the phone didn't restart all the time!!!! I tried to...
