Switching from Xperia Z3 to LG G3, is it just me? - General Topics

This is not a trolling topic. This came from a casual Z3 user.
I pre-ordered the Z3 on Sony store and got it. The phone was great, screen was pleasant to look at, no lags ever happened, but there were too many cons that took over the pros imo:
- The battery was not that great, I've installed GSAM App since day one, and now the average screen-on time is only 5 hours, maximum is 6h30m. I've tried resetting the phone via Pc Companion... no luck. I mainly use the phone for Facebook, Web browser, taking pictures, and music, no heavy games.
- I've dropped it several times due its f*cking slippery glass panels. So far there's no crack but the aluminum sides are slightly damaged.
- It's so uncomfortable to hold. Sony made premium phones for sure, but it's not practical... the Z3 is just a beautiful metal slab but not really a phone. In my opinion, the curved back is much much more comfortable to hold in hands.
- Wifi range is horrible. I've tried putting the Z3 next to the LG G3 and Moto G, the Z3 lost signal frequently, the other 2 were fine.
- Glass back panel = fingerprint magnet.
- Finally, the most disappointed feature - Camera. I don;t know what the heck Sony did to their Z3, but the camera is just average to me. Plus it does not focus well while recording videos, even with normal macro shots; Superior Auto sucks; too tiny flash; a lof of Noise; a lot of disappointments.
- Not to mention that it fails so badly on cosmetic look. Huge gaps; unsymmetrical panels; bulging nylon corners. They are not a big deal for me, but compared to other phones in terms of cosmetic build, Sony has to work harder.

Contract us up, And there is alot to pick from,.
Currently have the HTC Desire, While this is a good phone, its time for a change.
Had my eyes on the Galaxy S II.
Looking for a phone to take me over the next two years like the HTC Desire has
(First phone to ever last me 2 years! that says alot about it)
Anyway What phone are you Guys using, How you finding it?
Battery Life
Performance / Lag
Call Quality
Camera
How it feels in your hand.
**** No Need for Iphone Recommendations, I have the Iphone 4, As a company phone that is enough for me, Android for a Personal phone!! Cannot live without it *******
Cheers
I think you should check Nexus S...It's Android and I'm still hesitant to root it and install new ROM because the original one is quick, the phone does not freeze, super-fast, big screen...I also got an extended battery for it that keeps it alive for 2 days. Perfect phone.
Battery Life - Mugen Power
Performance / Lag - Very fast, crashes very seldom.
Call Quality - No issues here
Camera - has 2 cams (5 mp primary and 1 for on front for calls etc)
How it feels in your hand. - Comfortable.

Leaving the O3D community in style!

I don't really like these kinds of topics, but I found my situation quite funny and perhaps worth sharing.
Last Friday I lost my O3D after it fell out of my bag.
I was riding this:

and descending this road, the Transfagarasan:
I built the bike myself, I even made a bike mount that fitted the phone and its flipcase, and it would stay put no matter how hard the bike fell. However, that particular day I had it in a pocket in the rear bag, charging from an external battery. I don't know why I didn't put the phone in the back pocket of my cycling jersey, it would have been way more secure.
The upside, of course, was the ride! I was so happy at the bottom, after over 5000ft (1500m) of teeth-grinding descent, that when I got that sick feeling out of the blue, looked back and saw the charging cable dangling freely, I just couldn't get angry. I had already lost my touring colleague the previous day due to different views over the tour, so after loosing the phone and consequently the tour schedule, camera, gps, radio, weather app, emergency communications and nearly all the photos (I had uploaded 3 of them on the road), I just felt defeated and rode home for the next 2 days. I bought a map to plot a quick and easy route home, and I could have bought a camera and a phone, but I felt like crap for loosing the almost 300$ I paid for the phone and decided to end the tour after a week's riding of the planned 3.
Now I got myself a Dell Streak 5, and while I miss the 3D capabilities and the camera on this one isn't great, I really like it and it's nice not having that feeling that you might still be missing a call now and then and not know about it. Nonetheless, I hope ICS will be everything we ever hoped for the O3D, and the wait won't be for nothing!
Damn. must feel bad to lose your phone.
I will hope ics will be everything for this device to.
but i think i already sold the phone before it comes out.
you may want to drive that road again and search for it.
a dell streak aint something either. i would rather call that crap than a phone.
i would search it. even if it's a extremely long road.
Greetings, Paul

Signal strength, LTE, 4G, getting signal, etc

Hi everyone,
Smartphone reviews are more and more complete as the competition between review websites increase but there is always a test kind of missing: signal reception.
Indeed it's hard to find data about it over the net. Some phone makers are happy to communicate about some technology they develop, and some just don't.
Nowadays it seems that all that matter is photo quality, design, autonomy and the screen. At long as you got a "bar" (which doesn't mean anything as we know) consumer seems to be happy... lol.
I found some comparisons that AndroidAuthority made, but that's about it (I can't post outside links yet...):
- Xperia Z5, LG G4, Galaxy Note 5, iPhone 6S, Moto X Style ( /best-lte-xperia-z5-x-style-note-5-iphone-6s-lg-g4-648755/ )
- Galaxy S6, LG G4, Huawei P8 ( /best-4g-galaxy-s6-v-huawei-p8-v-lg-g4-612827/ )
Over here they look at signal strength (near -60dBm being perfect, and near -110dBm being call failure), network switching rate, drapped calls, etc, which give you some clues.
Snippet (can't add images yet...):

The point is to find with what phone you really have a change to get a nice signal (just to receive a call or to get stable data coming through), when some will just drop. Apparently Huawei got a little something better with their Signal + technology, when Apple seems to do good too, but the "king" Samsung seems to be quite crappy about it, even if review websites do not reflect it.
What do you think? Any trouble with your Samsung? Huawei owners do you really see a difference? (and not just about "bars" at home).
I guess it should be a good selling argument stating that your phone is having a better signal than the others (if you are traveling a lot, when hiking, during highway drive, using less battery if your antenna is less stressed, etc).

Question Build quality of this device?

how is the build quality of this device? heating problems?
how is it vs. the Samsung S20 SE
any battery drain isues? is Realme updating the software and security in time?
Build Quality - To me it feels premium in the hand. The only thing I'm worried about it only has IPX5 water resistance.
Heating Problems - None. I play CODM, Diablo Immortal, FF7 The first Soldier and use Moonlight to stream games from my PC all at max settings with balanced gpu profile on Game Space. It becomes lukewarm.
Better than Samsung S20 SE? - GT Neo 2 has a CPU gen better than the S20, more battery and faster charging (30min from 10%). I have not yet tried One UI, but, Realme UI is also highly praised. On the Neo 2 it's really smooth and has many customisation.
Battery Drain issues: None. See below. However, battery usage differs from user's settings. And I'm absolutely happy with this phone's battery usage.

Updates: Seems extremely slow and concerns me a lot. Global is still on Realme UI 2.0 while China and India are on Realme UI 3.0 since a while. I personally don't care about security updates.
I've had Realme GT Neo 2 for 2 months now and haven't received any, even security updates. Shame on you, realme.
thank you for the comprehensive reply i do apreciate it.
i have one baught expecting it soon.
i have just received the device.
all good and working. very fast wifi, and 4G. moving between networks in a breeze.
phantom chip probably cpu and wifi working correctly.
screen brightness is crazy good.
The screen has a factory screen protector like in Samsung devices.
Camera gives rly great photos indoor in low light conditions. didn't try it outside yet.
speaker quality and volume is ok. very depending on source quality. Ring volume is not so loud.

Pretty useless if you do not own one of these flagship models I'd say...
This update just popped up on mine today and I applied it (it zapped 5% of my fully-charged watch that was still on the charger the whole time!) Then the Wearable app wanted updating on the phone, so I did that as well. Seemed to work OK so far.

Yep. Fewer and fewer people care about "flagship" models. I bought an A52 5G and ended up with a very fast phone, SD card, several capable cameras, real headset jack, OLED screen, and in-screen fingerprint sensor for under $400 (a little more than a year ago). Or I could have spent, what, DOUBLE for a "flagship" with a little better CPU, case, and camera, while losing the headset jack I use all the time? No thanks.
I own the same smartphone A52s and exactly for the same reason.
Did you find a way to use the Camera Control (samsung official app) on our A52s?
I have updated the watch and now the back button doesn't work...
Am I the only one with this issue?
EDIT: ok, after a watch reset and restore it works again...
Finally rolling out for the my R890 in Denmark

I didn't and it sucks. I have to use third-party one (only camera one actually works for me), which lacks in picture quality.
