Nvidia Shield Portable Update 110 - Does Anyone Have Full Download Link - Shield Q&A

Hey Guys -
Along with my Shield tablet, I own a Shield portable which is currently on Update 106, is rooted, and uses TWRP. Update 110 obviously came out about a week ago as well as a new update for the Shield Tablet. The only way I know to install it on a rooted device without loosing data is to install the Full version via TWRP. I've downloaded the one for the tablet, and plan to install, but cannot yet find the one for the Portable.
Does anyone happen to have a link to the Portable's Full Update 110? Thanks!

I'll see if I can re-flash to stock 106 and nab the file for you (if it lets me).

Okay, so reverted to 106 build successfully. Now downloading.
Silly question (I used to know but forgot, damned if I can search now that all results come up with the Tablet) but where specifically do the files download to in stock?

Hey guys, Full STOCK Update to 110 is available here: https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworksdownload

Coby Kyros Tablet 7022 | 1125 | 1126 | 8127 Update ICS Android 4.0

It looks like Coby Germany has released an ICS update for the 7022 | 1125 | 1126 | 8127 Kyros tablets from Coby.
Video:
Apparently I can't post links yet, being new here so here is the youtube code (just do a google search for the following, it should be the first video link) :
rBWeo_rEdcU
Coby Germany Link:
Again, I can't post links so just go to the main cobygermany site, it should be on the front page.
Let me preface this post by stating that I'm a bit of an android newb, so take everything I say here for what that's worth.
The update requires a serial number for the device, mine did not work so I tried the serial number trick (stepping up from the one shown in the above video. The original in the video is 101110010351 if any one is interested.) It wouldn't install until I completed a factory reset in Android 2.3. but ICS is now installed on my Mid1126.
Ok, now for the nitty gritty, HDMI is not working, and WIF is a bit flakey. Also, I can't get the Market to install using this ( youtube s2oXEhqCgcU ) method at least. Also, none of the standard Google apps seem to work, Gmail, Google +, etc. Using any of these I get an error message "Unfortunately, Google Services Framework has stopped"
Anyways, I just thought I'd share this with you all. Looks like Coby has a way to go yet before this version is actually ready for prime time (at least on my mid1126).
Is there a way to revert the device to the stock GB?
i have the same Q.
but there is one more problem, a bigger one. after installing ICS onto Kyros MID1125 I lost the possibility for 3g, for whom I have the hardware for. so how could i fix that, any possibility's for a downgrade via flashing with ODIN?
EDIT: to be more specific there is no option for APN or any kind of mobile network settings, just WiFi .

I install on MPMAN 827. It work very good.
I can give you files for this, I flash with CWM recovery.
I rooted and install Google Play.
Still waiting for an update...
Looks like Coby is dragging it's ass on the promised update... ready next week three weeks ago... Yet I still maintain hope. The current ICS is useable, but just barely.
The Coby German site says -
Tablets with Android 2.3 are now updated with the yet ready patches already included. If you updated your tablet earlier with an update file not containing the patches, you can downgrade to Android 2.3 and update to Android 4.0.3 again. Please contact our support for a description of the procedure. Alternatively the patches will be generally available in a few days.

This is a really confusing block of text... does this mean that 2.3 fixes somehow magically carry over into an ICS upgrade!!?? Would downgrading to 2.3 again and then upgrading to ICS fix everything..??!!
2.3
I reinstall 2.3 again
I don't like ICS, on my tablet is working good
Rooted and with Google Play is Ok.
I waiting the update from Coby Germany.....
Coby Updates
Ok, looks like somewhat good news... this is a Youtube comment response from the dude from Hotodi.tv (from the original 4.3 upgrade video on the Cobygermany.de site) Note: It's a German machine translation, he's not retarded.
----------------------------------------------
"Hello. Yes, even if it is "unfortunately" not currently looks from the outside, it moves very much at the moment. THe test images look very good out there will not be long that they can be published FINALLY. Video playback is WORLDS better, HDMI works, memory cards and internal memory are displayed on the PC / Mac right wifi much better performance, better on Tablet already 4 days, no freeze ..."

So you flashed ICS update fom a zip via recovery, or did you follow the installation process from Coby Germany ?
And to go back to 2.3 have you just restored your nandroid backup or is it an other process ?
Thanks for your help.
EDIT @pixelpump : I can't find update page on coby's website anymore, where did you see this message ?
EDIT2 : no probs anymore, update page came back

I flashed via recovery. For restore 2.3 I use saved backup in CWM.
Ok, nice !
Where did you find the files ?
ICS Update (v1.1.0025) works fine
I have updated my sons MID7022 like it descripted on the german coby website.
The new Android 4.0.3 version (v1.1.0025) works really fine.
After updating the tablet I rooted it to install the gapps. Now my son is happy to use the play store, gmail etc.
Exclamation on Reboot
Does anyone know how to overcome the problem of the update stalling on reboot with the exclamation mark? I had read that it might be because of low disk space on the download but I did a factory reset and came up with the same problem...
How did you achieve this?
I googled a lot, but didn't find a good "how-to" or I was unable to download the necessary CWM. Do I really need to root to install gapps?
Thanks for your help!

Helpful for me was these thread at Android Tablets. Maybe you can use these description, the long way.
I'm using CWRM4, with version 5 it will not good work as you can read her.
Without root you can't install the gapps. Try these description.
Thank you very much, I'll try that.

And? Have you succes?
Unfortunately no.
CWM wouldn't work, although I have some experience with Android rooting (HTC Sensation). So I decided to return the tablet.
This was my second and last try on a cheapo tablet (first one was a Odys Vision, whos build qualitity was poor, would be a really long list ). I'm going to wait for the Google Nexus or perhaps the Windows 8 Tablets (as replacement for my Laptop).
But again thanks for your effort!

Need stock recovery.img from 2.1

I have a 16GB Shield bought in the UK and I need the stock recovery.img (I'm on the latest Lollipop build). Can anyone upload it please?
It would be much appreciated
I can't seem to find the full image for the latest Lollipop update either so I could extract the recovery.img myself.
There isnt one yet... I suspect its the same recovery as in 1.2 (if your specifically looking for the recovery partition that is). I did a reload from 1.2 then upgraded to 5.1 (Nvidia removed the 5.0 OTA and now goes directly to 5.1).
I have to say, since did that, almost everything is working properly on 5.1. I suspect 1.2 to 5.0 to 5.1 caused some minor annoying glitches..

Ah I see. Could you point me in the right direction as to where to download that? (16GB WiFi Shield bought in UK, I literally just need to flash back the stock recovery.img)
I signed up as a developer on the US Nvidia web site... a few hours later I received the approval then downloaded from there. I suspect it is the same process except from the Nvidia UK site.
Here is the site where I went (scroll down to NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet WiFi Recovery OS Image ):
https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworksdownload
And look here!!! I stand corrected! Nvidia updated to 2.1 recovery late December! Nice!
Try the same but on the UK site.

Looking for 2.2.1 WiFi hotfix download

I am trying to find a download spot for just the 2.2.1 hotfix (WiFi model). I have downloaded the full 2.2.1 but flashing the full 2.2 upgrade was a bit of a pain and I'd much rather just flash stock recovery and flash the update and reflash TWRP than to flash the full update and deal with Titanium Backup etc.
I flashed the 2.2 WiFi image on my LTE model when it first came out, and it's been great except my device shows it is "up to date" although it is not on 2.2.1. (the color gamut is is horrid 2.2 color and not the fixed one from 2.2.1).
TIA!!!
Nvidia has been postion ota links you can flash with cwm/twrp. You will need to reflash su as expected. I found it on the geforce forums... There were LTE us and WiFi us floating around and an explanation to what ota is right for the device you have.
Stumbled on it quicker than I thought.
WiFi us:

You are awesome, thank you !!!!!!!!!
I can't figure out how to find files at ota.nividia.com without knowing the actual file name and location. Drives me nuts the full ROMs are easy to find but the OTA seems to be some sort of secret thing.
Edit: see below, worked great.
The WiFi download is over 700MB, it's the full OTA and not just the hotfix. Why is the stupid hotfix so hard to find? Never experienced this with Motorola or Samsung. Samsung hides there stuff pretty good as well, but at least we have an independent site (sammobile) to provide us all the files.
Well it installed fine and with the su install I kept root. I don't know why the downloaded update is so large, looking in the zip I saw a new boot image (small), the new blob for the kernel (also small) and about half a dozen files under system. I also don't know why my device was showing up to date, other than perhaps the fact I am running the WiFi ROM on an LTE device and it's just confused.
Thanks again for finding the file for me, it was super fast and easy.

Old Tablet on 3.11

Hi All,
I updated my original tablet to 3.11 last night and did the process for getting my tablet replaced. I had no idea about the kill switch at this point!
So now I am on 3.11 but have not yet received my new tablet.
I have seen the instructions here about updating but it mentions about not letting the stock 3.11 get on wifi. As I have been on wifi as I had to do that to do my replacement I am after some help on what to do next?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet/help/updating-y01-tablet-to-3-11-t3213690
Also if I was to flash a custom rom and wanted to keep all of the Nvidia bloatware is this the best one? Remote play etc..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/shi.../tweaked-kernel-nvidia-shield-tablet-t3069776
Cheers
Anyone can help?
You need to follow the instructions to remove the NVidia OTA apk http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62345155. Do this before you turn on replacement tablet!!!!! If you go custom ROM you won't need to remove the file (it is not part of custom ROM) but you can stay stock if you remove it.

Thanks, thought so but just wanted to check as its 3.11 now rather than 3.1.
Is there a custom rom with the Nvida remote play stuff included as I connect to my PC sometimes to play games?

Back to the kitkat rom on the Asus k01e me103k 10inch android tablet?

Hi guys,
I bought a cheap tablet, It worked fine until i got an update to lollipop, it slowed the device down horribly and it can't multitask at all anymore. Even opening a new tab in google chrome is terrible laggy and slow.
I managed to get the tablet rooted with kingroot, the programs that came with it to clean and speed up the device work great, but the tablet still not works optimal.
When i tried to install the old rom from the asus website in recovery it sayd it cant find the root destination folder or something like that. And rom manager says there is a more recent version of cwm but when i want to install it it says my tablet is not supported. So how can i go back to the kitkat version of the rom? Am i doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance for your help!
up
anyone?
no one?
