I have deleted the entire OS on my Note 5. This means that when I go to my phones internal storage on my computer, the only folder there is TWRP. When I try to flash a custom ROM, it goes through the install but actually doesn't install anything.
I have tried to flash the stock image through Odin and it fails.
Anyone know how I can get my phone back up and running?
I got it figured out. I was forgetting to factory wipe is TWRP before installing the ROM.

I have the Nexus S from Telus.
It was rooted, unlocked, running CM7. However I've been having issues with it freezing and decided I want to go back to the stock rom.
I ended up downloading what I thought was stock ROM for my phone (Stock GRH78 Nandroid Backup in this Tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093) however after it flashed my phone, I ended up with a phone which was essentially stuck in Airplane mode, would not connect to Telus. I'm guessing that it has the wrong radio for my phone/carrier?
So then I ended up finding a zip file someone posted Stock-GRJ22-i9020A-unsigned which should have worked, I ended up flashing the zip file from recovery.
It said it installed fine. Rebooted, and now the phone just cycles the Samsung Loading screen endlessly.
I tried to go back to recovery, and it gives me yellow triangle with !.
Is there any way to flash the recovery image back to the phone?
I plug the phone in and the PC won't recognize a device.
I installed the Android SDK
Ran the command adb devices, no devices attached to the PC.
I tried fastboot devices - blank
I don't know how I'll be able to get files back onto the phone SD Card for flashing etc...
I had the exact problem two days ago...flashed an image that jacked my phone up. Wouldn't boot past the google logo. Sat there indefinitely.
Read this thread and see if you can get it work. In a nutshell, you need the PDA net drivers installed. Since PDA net can't install the app on your phone (because it's not booted into an OS) leave the install program in limbo and voila, fast boot will work. From there, push the recovery.img (google Clockworkmod recovery image), boot into recovery and you are off to the races.
This is, of course, assuming you already have a ROM image on your internal SD card you can flash to get back up and running. I'm not sure how to install a .zip image ROM if you can't gain access to your SD card.

Good luck, I know the feeling. It blows.
Ah, just found out how to install a file on a phone that won't boot.
You do need to flash CWM recovery first though.

Good news! I tried a factory reset/data wipe and rebooted the phone.
It doesn't hang anymore, all functions restored and the phone is working on Telus again!
I guess I had to format data, clear cache, before the flash of the rom.
So relieved.
Issue has been solved!
I started to install pacrom on my verizon galaxy s4 and am havings troubles. I'll start from the beginning.
I rooted the phone via Towelroot app and checked it with rootchecker.
Then i downloaded the following.
downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyS4/SCH-i545/roms/PACMan/pac_jfltevzw-nightly-20130913.zip
downloadandroidrom.com/file/gapps/PA/pa_gapps-full-4.2-20130610-signed.zip
androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001603023 this is safestrap for "FOR USERS OF MJ7/MK2" IDK the difference between that and ME7/MI1 but i used MJ7/MK2
From here I opened up the safestrap app and installed the recovery and loaded it up. I left it on the stock rom slot while i continued to wipe everything and install the rom and GAPPS. This was a mistake, however, because i it bootlooped. I tried wiping and installing many different ways and still ended up with a bootloop. I realized in needed to use a rom slot and set that up. I wiped all the necessary things and installed the rom and GAPPS. Still it bootlooped. I have even tried to install without GAPPS with no avail. I forgot to make a backup of the stock and the stock slot just bootloops the pacrom boot screen. I cant find a way to add filed from my computer because whenever i connect it during the boot screen it shows up as a disc drive on my computer. Normally i would choose USB settings and make it where i can transefer data files, but i cant do this. I really need some help with this as I have done all I know to do. The downloads may be the problem, but from what i understand they are the correct ones. Thanks
Download this rom, move it to your phone and flash with recovery.
If you can't get the file on the phone I will help you out.
Long story short I was running latest nightly of cm13, I decided to flash to cm14 to try nougat. I had backups, during the process I pulled an idiot and wiped everything dalvik, system, data, internal storage, cache . So now I have no backups, I can still get into TWRP and attempt to flash Roms but I've tried countless ones and same outcome, TWRP just restarts half a second after it tries to flash, I've even tried the stock rom with no luck.it starts and gets to MTP enabled installing "name of rom" and then reboots . I've been using a tablet to install the Roms onto an sdcard and then using the sdcard to flash, I'm hoping it's an sdcard issue and I'm waiting to get the laptop to try and put the Roms on internal phone storage and try. I'm hoping I won't have to go back to unroofed stock using kdz tot. If anyone knows what's wrong please help.
Well I tried flashing to stock and can't get into download mode, computer won't recognize phone. So I decided to try updating Twrp flashed the image, rebooted and now I'm stuck on [11050] fast boot mode started. Nothing gets me out of that.
As the title already states my Galaxy S6 ( SM-G920F, 6.0.1, rooted) only boots in TWRP and I can't get out of that recovery boot loop. I already tried flashing the stock ROM but I get the SW REV CHECK FAIL DEVICE 4 BINARY 3 fail. Are there any ways to fix this, possibly without losing all my personal data(if not I'd like to know how anyways)?
I can access the download menu and I also tried wiping the Dalvik/ART Cache.
I tried this stock ROM: G920FXXU4DPIL, Switzerland(AUT)
Thanks for taking your time
EDIT: I haven't tried ADB since I'm not sure how to use it correctly and I don't want to screw up even further.
Hi mate that error means that the stock firmware you are triyng to install is a lower version than the one on the device, go online and find the most recent version, as for the data just boot to twrp make a backup of data partition, connect the phone to pc twrp as mtp turn on by default and copy the backup to pc, after the flash just reinstall twrp and restore.
Hello I've haven't done any rooting or roms since the samsung s3 days. I was attempting to root my google pixel and when I wiped the phone in the TWRP recovery I made the mistake of ticking every box meaning the phone now has no os on it at all. I tried installing a factory rom from googles site but I only get an error saying the zip is an invalid file type.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think,,,and I am not sure but if you wiped everything you will have to fastboot flash stock image then re-install TWRP and go from there.
Unzip the factory ROM zip on your computer, have the latest drivers and ADB/Fastboot installed/downloaded from Google's site, connect the phone in whichever mode it has to be in (Bootloader?) I forget but the information is plenty available in various threads here, there are only a couple of options anyway, then run the Flash-All.bat or .sh, depending on what OS you're running (Windows, Linux/Mac?).
If you can connect via MTP while in TWRP (if that's not wiped as well, or if you did if you haven't booted out of TWRP), then maybe you can copy the files over to flash a ROM and vendor image, and TWRP RC1 too so you can flash it again, although I would opt for starting back from scratch with the fully stock ROM/firmware flashed from a PC myself.
Flash the factory image and remain stock until you learn how to use recovery/restore a phone.

Run flash all from PC to get back to stock. Then do a lot of reading.
