Good lock is in the galaxy app store. It's an update to the system ui that changes the lockscreen, notification shade, and the recent apps screen. It makes your phone look closer to stock Android.

Showing Custom

I was stock rooted on ICS and did the update saving my root with OTA Rootkeeper. When JB was installed I restored my root and now on my reboots it shows me as running custom with an unlock icon. Is there a way to remove the unlock icon?

Yup, that's the way I did it. Might want to check into downloading version 1.2 instead of the version from the market though.

I'm surprised unlocking the Bootloader would remove the custom icon. Wonder why that is. Anyways The icon is gone now. The phone boots right off the 1st Samsung icon real fast too lol.

19.6.3 OTA fails at 25%

Currently on 4.4 (19.5.3) with root, wp disabled, and safestrap installed. Trying to install the 19.6.3 OTA but it fails at what looks like 25%. Any ideas?
This is essentially a stock setup with nothing installed that isn't part of the stock ROM. Nothing has been frozen or removed and I'm not using Safestraps pseudo-slots.
Appreciate any help I can get, thanks!

Also having this issue
I would have to say that the presence of safestrap may be your issue. Maybe try removing safestrap. But keeping root and wp.
Safestrap recovery didn't make a difference in the update installing. Same hangup with it removed.
There seems to be a handful of us experiencing this problem.
Any other solutions would be much appreciated.

Ahh, @Lordomn. I seem to remember you from the Xperia Play area. Looks like you've finally moved on to? Nice to see ya around these parts.

Did you get SuperSU Pro and use survival to update? That's what I did and didn't have a problem with updating.

Try the verizon PC software. It can update your device.
ok I'll try when I get home
Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
If you are rooted, you need to unroot before upgrading. Even if you get it to go further it won't flash probably. Odin a factory oe2 or what ever your base is. After that upgrade.
Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
A friend of mine, UNROOTED, got the same message, it has nothing to do with being rooted. The update servers were not responding on Verizon end, nothing more. He was able to do it later in the day with no changes.
I feel like it is because I am not using a Verizon sim so it blocks me.

Same thing happens with me and I also use a non-verizon sim card. Could you fix this?

I don't think so, but just waiting a few days and updating on Kies or the new version is just as good as an OTA.

You need a vzw sim card to use the built in software update.

What apps have you disabled so far?

Since package disabler pro doesn't support this device yet, what have you manually disabled? List please?

Oh my bad then, I haven't heard anything official yet, either way I will just recommend to disable, everything you don't use, even some system apps, and you can replace them with PlayStore apps, like calendar, calculator, clocks, browsers, I hope you get im what im saying :fingers-crossed:

Stable rooted ROMS for 955U

Hey guys
Just rooted my S8+ 955U, however there seems no custom ROM available for my variant, there are a bunch for 955F and others, but those should not work with mine right?
Any ideas? Thanks
No they run on a different processor than ours also we have locked bootloader
Since I rooted device is very unstable, I might get back to stock firmware, can not see any positive thing after rooting. Do you?
Same issue here, my main problem is the battery...

Since there is still no unlock for bootloader you can't flash custom roms.
