I'm sorry, can I flash my phone in a state can only be input in the power button and the volume down? because I do not know when I play the game, sudden death and can only enter HBOOT mode. because if it is turned on only until the words "HTC" a few seconds and then immediately die. I think the operating system is problems and should be in flash. Can? please: '(thanks for answer in this question. My prayers what's best for you.

New to Android, want to set up rooted stock ROM, S-OFF. Looking through the steps, trying to verify one step at a time. Saw a post of how to verify root status by booting to the HROOT screen. All directions say hold down PWR and VOLDN at the same time, but I keep comiing up in regular Android 2.2 mode. Tried every sequence of when to release each key (together, PWR first, VOLDN first); no difference. Sorry for such a simple, basic question.
Found the answer
Found it, so I'll leave here for someone else's search to find. The deal is that the start (PWR+VOLDN) has to be from a cold boot, so yank the battery, reinstall, the PWR+VOLDN and you get the HBOOT screen.
Geez, 45 views and nobody knew that?
thanks
thanks for leaving it, I had the same problem.. pulling the battery worked. I thought that shutting it down would have the same effect.. didn't.
I thank you as well
The Inspire was a little trickier to root than my HTC HT2 Leo, but so far it's been more stable. I really wanted to access HBOOT so I could update my radio, but I had completely forgotten how to get into HBOOT. Volume up + Power led to black screen and a flashing power led (IE nothing) and I started to panic. A quick soft reset and using your quick reminder allowed me to easily go directly into HBOOT and it automatically detected the update I wanted to add. Thanks much!
Hi, ive just got my Sensation and gagging to get well involved, im not new to htc's the only phone i will ever buy, my question is how do you boot into HBOOT.
Thanks Olly

thanks sort of figure it out just!
you know you should use the search button instead of just posting a new thread. maybe you just got your phone and you want to learn everything about it but you are making it harder to reach information. same question is replied several times before if you do a search which is very very easy you can find the answer. that is the point of forums. you search first and if you can not find the answer despite your search then you post a thread. this sensation forum is becoming useless because people are just posting without searching and it is becoming a garbage forum.

I assume that you mean that it powers on, suggesting that at some point prior, it's shut down on it's
own.
I'd suggest that you perform a factory reset, install no applications and run the device for a few days to see if it happens again, as this could be related to one of the applications that you're using

Hello XDA.
This is my first thread. Therefore I apologise in advance for my english and sorry if there is a similar thread, but I couldn't find it.
So i've got my Sensation few weeks ago. Everything worked fine, until today. The problem is, that, when I push the home button the phone takes (sometimes) a screenshot. My phone is not rooted, and is S-ON. Can somebody help me with this issue, how to fix this? Respectively, what could be the cause of this problem? I ran a scan with my lookout and AVG, but it didn't find any viruses.
Thank you very much in advance and I apologise, if I put the threat in a wrong section.
Best regards
Have you upadated to android 2.3.4?... If you did, then it's the update bug... A lot of people are experiencing that after the update.. i will suggest for you to disable your haptic feedback, this might solve the issue...hope it helps...

I don't think its a bug. It's a feature. If you tap your power button, it puts you in screenshot mode. In screenshot mode you press the home key to take a screenshot.
To turn it off, tap the power button again.
So basically you tapped it instead of pushing it before you hit home and that is your problem.

EDIT:
Mine was staying in camera mode after doing the power + home but now it just takes one screenshot and it doesn't stay in the mode. To get out if its stuck you just tap your power button once and home will work again.
If you press power quick, then home before it sleeps, you get a screenshot. New feature after the update.
It seems that it is really a feature. Just don't know exactly how to turn it on. Sometimes the tap is working, sometimes not. Anyway thanks a lot it was a really big help from you!
EDIT: now I get it. Holding the power button down and taping the home button at the same time, will do the screenshot. Great!
Cherrs crisisinthecity !!!
A couple of weeks ago, I installed the ICS update on my sensation.
Initially I was impressed, nice look, New features and so on.
Now I'm really starting to regret performing the update. So far I have found the following issues.
1. On boot the "Upgrading Android... Optimizing applications" message appears every time
2. eBay app forgets login details & settings
3. Internet browser is slow, zooming & panning is choppy and random browser shutdowns
4. "Process system is not responding" error message often shows after booting
5. Ringtones & notifications keep returning to default
6. Backlight becoming stuck at max, this still occurs with log graph brightness tool
7. Battery life is considerably worse than before, I'm now lucky to get a through an 8 hour day with the phone just idling in my pocket plus the occasional call or email.
8. Sometimes phone will just shut down when battery charge is around 50%, will not fully restart, when plugging in to charger and booting battery level is 2-5%, this often happens when launching Draw Something & sometimes just web browsing.
As you can imagine this is somewhat annoying. Having owned HTC phones for a long time, having had bad experiences with a touch pro2, I started to loose faith in HTC, then I got the sensation, it was brilliant, now since installing ICS I'm beginning to loose faith again.
Anyone know what I might be able to do to sort this out?
My handset is for the Asian market and I'm on orange UK, it has the stock Rom & has never been rooted or anything else like that.

My mate had exactly the same issues. I advised him to do a factory reset which he reports has resolved all the issues.
I advise you try the same.
Thanks, today the phone became almost unusable unless plugged in to the charger so I called HTC support, they advised the same, which didn't fix it, so I called again and was advised to clear the cache partition. It seems to be fine now, although the browser performance is still a bit poor.

I have the same problem, my sensation get random shutdowns after charge goes below 50%, nowadays it is totally unstable at low battery levels. Also even if battery level is more than 50%,phone shuts down if i take a photo with flash on.I wiped out the 'cache partition' as described, but the problem exist, please help.........
Ok its been a while since the problem first happened & I should probably have posted my findings. I found the problem to be caused by using cheap aftermarket batteries from eBay, on switching back to the genuine HTC battery the problem seems to have been completely solved.
I've since tried to use the aftermarket battery & it started dropping out again.
Hope this is of some help to you all.

The reboot issue may be solved by sliding a piece of paper between the top of the battery an phone. It's a loose connection issue. Aftermarket batteries tend not to fit as well. There are guides as to how to do it. I can't link them as I'm on my phone. That *should* solve reboot issues.
