Google Engineers cannot recognize the needs of users!!! (Locking external sd card???) - General Topics

Hi.
I had tablet with android 4 and had not any problem.
I bought a tablet with 4GB usable internal storage and 128GB SD card.
I have about 8GB pdf ebooks. my friend have 20GB ebooks.
when i tried to highlight a text in pdf it message unable because external sd card is locked in lollipop!!!
my books is references and it is a problem for editing every time copy paste between internal and external storages.
also i can not edit pictures files in sd card by photoshop!!
some friends can not install and play many 3D games.
I search by google and see from android 4.4 kitkat google locked external sd card.
I see many people have this problem but google continues this foolish prohibition.
I search for solving this problem in step one must root tablet!!! therefore we must decrease security for solving problem!!!
so i see 3 problem:
1) a giant problem: external sd card locked and apps can not write to files + internal storages almost small spaces 4GB-64GB.
2) for solving problem 1 , we must root android (big security losing)
3) many tablets can not be rooted. for exam i googled and find several site that post text for rooting Galaxy Tab A t285. but none effected and i could not root my device.
Why Google do not solve this problem??????

SDHC Card Recognition on Galaxy Tab 7.7 (GT-P6800)

Hi All,
I've seen questions similar to mine here but no answers so, at the risk of being repetitive, here's the problem that I would very much appreciate help with.
I have a new SGT 7.7 running ICS which can't be rooted so what seems to be the standard response to getting the Tab to recognize the micro SD card (in this case a 32GB Samsung Class 10 SDHC) doesn't apply. The card has been reformatted to FAT32 but I still the message, "The device does not have a real primary external storage, or the primary external storage is emulated. Moving app to SD function may not be supported by this device." The only thing that does show up on the SD card is a wallpaper butterfly I downloaded, but no apps, even those purported to be able to be moved. The move to SD card option never appears.
Kies for Mac is on my iMac and I've moved a few songs from iTunes onto it and it appears they are now on the card. However, the music does not appear anywhere on the Tab so the card is still not being recognized.
I'm totally frustrated and at wit's end. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong or need to do to fix this so that I can move suitable apps, music, and photos onto the card?
Thank you so VERY much!
somebody please help me,,after upgrading from 3.2 to 4.0 ics my korean version tab cannot connect internet,,,the apn setting didn't work ,,,i guess i need to change back to honeycomb,,it works well on 3.2

Rooting P6800
Hi Whomever You Are,
No, I can't root the tablet. I'm a 67 yr. old Android novice and doing this on my old Mac is beyond my ability. I've seen nowhere that I can have it done. Also, the third direction says, "Put the created folder at your External Micro SDcard." As you noted, the SD card can't be used. Finally, the tablet is now back in Hong Kong for repair -- defective battery. Thanks anyway.
You can put the zip in internal SD. It still works.
Internal SD?!?

Hi Skycruzer,
That's interesting. I know what an external SD (card) is and what internal memory is but I've never heard of internal "SD."
What is it; where is it; and how do you put zips into it? I'm afraid there's more to this tablet than I'll ever master. Maybe
when it gets back from Hong Kong I should just send the Tab to you to root and do whatever with. How's that sound? LOL

the internal memory is call Internal SD on samsung device... same thing...

[Q] S3 Clone Phone (i9377) storage

ok so i've got one of those chinese S3 clone phones (i9377, Haipai i think)
the only issue i'm having is when trying to install games, its saying i've not enough memory
there seems to be 3 lots of memory, Internal, Phone storage AND my SD
the games 'additional files' will only seem to save to Internal or Phone and NOT the SD (i know this because my SD has over 12gb free)
i've tried plugging into my laptop and just putting the files IN my sd folder, THEN installing but still having the same issue
can anyone guide me through how i would get the phone to install the additional files TO the SD please?
there IS an option of where to save things to, but again, the choices are Phone or Internal
i can get round most things myself, just this 3 lots of storage has thrown me well off

Micro SD Card Issues

After some research, I'm starting to hate kikat lol.
Apparently third party apps can't write to external storage any more....so no more setting downloaded files to the micro sd card :/
I know it's for more security but it sucks. Wet need to get some custom roms going!!

There's pros and cons, android central wrote up a good summery on this feature on Kit Kat. The Pro is more security in your device as when "apps" have full range they'll store all kinds of crap here, there, everywhere. Now they can only be stored locally on internal storage, nice feature imo and why it's standard we have a 32gb internal storage device. Now if this was a run of the mill 16gb internal storage device that would be a different story .
Idea is what is stored on SD card stays on SD card and what is stored on internal storage stays there so there is no mix/matching going on and confusion. Keeps things running more smoothly and secure.
Now if you download mp3 and videos all day long on your phone and have to wait til you get to a laptop to connect via usb and manually transfer it all to SD card and delete off internal memory, yes this can be a hassle. I personally like the idea of all this overall. Only feature i wish we had was being able to transfer internal files to external sd card with a file explorer app.
No worries, once S-Off is available none of this will be a concern anymore .

Yes, the only feature I want it to transfer files from the internal memory to the external. All the other reasons for that not working are legitimate.
Once S-Off is here I will be happy

[Q] Lollipop SDcard storage question.

So I bought this Sony Experia Z3 (D6600) Just over a week ago, and was immediately unimpressed with the way
kitkat handled the SD card. ( I forked out for a 64gb card as I was intending to store all my games and media on it )
So after a lot of reading about workarounds, and trying out programs from the play store I came to the conclusion
that it wasn't possible to acheieve what I wanted due to security issues google had implemented with kitkat.
My understanding at this point was that lollipop addressed the issue and allowed installations to be moved to the
external SD Card again, so I have now got a version of lollipop running and rooted. However, when you install a game
or app it still installs some to the primary storage and then moves a portion of it to the external SD card. So currently after
having only installed four or five games I have 2.9gb free on my device memory and 58.3 gb free on the external card.
Kinda defeats the object doesn't it !! Even with everything moved to external card it is going to fill up soon.
So what I am asking (And to be honest I am really surprised I am having to ask it, and it's not something that can't be
set up by the user) Is please please does anyone know I can change my default storage from the phones storage to the
SD card. ( i.e. Swap sdcard for sdcard1 ) So as I do not have to worry about the device filling up so early in life.
I know there is no vold.fdstab or whatever it is anymore, but other than that I have no further info with achieving this on
lollipop. Is there a different file I can alter to swap it, or is a case of needing a different kernel flashed or something?
Any info would really really be welcomed !!
Many thanks in advance

Internal sd card who prevent application exportation to real sd card

Hi everyone,
My friends who's making a world tour on bike just bought a smartphone to help him in his journey.
The MTT Smart Robust (can't put the exact link but it's easy to find on google)
We added a sim card of 64GB in it and tried to move applications on it because the internal memory is only of 4 GB.
We encountered a surprise when inside the phone there were an internal memory of 2GB, a phone memory of 2GB and the SD card.
And when we try to export the applications they never end up on the SD card.
Can you explain to us how to bypass the phone memory which looks like an other sd card (and act like one since the exportation of the applications ends up on it) ?
Because, we are trying to install application with offline maps and also google traduction offline. 4GB is not enough
Thansk in advance for your answer !
Sorry to up this topic but we could really use some help
Isn't there a way to bypass this intermediate phone memory to use the real sd card to export the applications ?
Thanks in advance.
Why not replace the phone memory with the new sd card, just copy everything on phone memory to the new sd card first...

Thanks Talsadus, but the phone and internal memory are not accessible. That's the trick.
I don't know what the people who made this phone tried or if it's a normal doing but The only accessible sd card is the one we put. there are no other place. : /
If you go into Settings->Storage can you unmount the Internal SD Card that is acting as external SD Card?
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Forums Pro.
We just look and there's no button to umount the phone memory which plays as an external sd card.
The phone is not rooted and I kind of don't want to do it because my friend just bought it. (for the warranty)
