Unlock.bin needed - LG G5 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Developme

May I borrow 2 or 3 different H850 unlock.bin keys for research? I have convinced a professional android/linux developer to try and make a tool to generate unlock bins.

if not signed it will be very easy i hope people help

The bootloader will reject the unsigned boot/system partition, so no, that's not a way you can go.

Any progress?

Here is mine http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/57e0c704db04f/unlock.bin.zip

most likely there is no need to post any unlock.bin files anymore
most of the devs already know by now that you need a method to bypass the signing made by LG in order to be able to flash your own "hacked" one
unless there are any updates from some fellow devs over here, I guess you should keep your own bin files for now

Furthermore the bins are useless for research if you on have the MEID used to generate them...

Bounty for unlocking bootloader for vs990 (progress has been made)

Good afternoon people of XDA,
Today is the dawn of a new day. A day where we begin the road to unlocking the bootloader to something that many believe is unlockable. Me and a few other users are starting a bounty to bring the incentive to life for all active developers. You can find my previous thread here. Now, when I say progress has been made, I mean that we have gotten into fastboot, we have donation incentives and we already have root so our tools are there we just have to find the exploit. Every day people are finding new exploits furthering our cause into reaching our goal. Now to the developers who want to pursue this, I've very much so tried to get active commands in fastboot but basically its just a dead fastboot for right now. The board on this phone and technologies behind it are so similar to its predecessors that somethings got to give. If you are interested in this cause, i.e. donating or deving on it, please contact me here, or email me at [email protected]
This is in our grasps friends. Spread the word, grab your fellow developers and lets get this thing to be a free wad of cash for whoever can bust it. Lets do this.
Attached is the spreadsheet for the current donations.
this kind of things never work...i mean, you make a donation and the people or the persons behind the scenes when getting high values like 400-500$ then buy a new phone and move on letting the desired phone to get development in the trash!!
Noooo, people should see, if a year old phone never came to life in development in the first 6-8 months then the development for it is dead and if you like to custumize the phone and flash things you need to move to a more flashable-friend device!
I have to agree with this. The Tmobile version has unlocked bootloader yet barely no development. What would make me that unlocking VS990 bootloader would all of a sudden spur development.

I personally (and I think many other users) don't really need cooked roms. With gravity box, xposed and some other apps, I can "cook" my own rom (and believe me, it won't be that hard). All we need is a method for rooting. Using an android without rooting is even worse than an iphone without jailbreaking since iphones are undoubtedly smoother

Indeed, a rooting method for version above MM is the most importing thing for us rather than flashing custom rom. However, system-less root is need to root MM or above and this is required modifying boot.img, therefore, bootloader unlocking is need. Unless, we have found a way to sign the modified boot.img to deceive the offical bootloader.

I mean even if the bootloader is not unlockable, somethings can be done to let us perform the same things just like bootloader is unlocked.
For example, some dev in G2 and G3 have released a tool called "Bump!" before that can sign any third party image and let it able to be run on offical locked LG bootloader.
source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/bump-sign-unlock-boot-images-lg-phones-t2935275
But of course, since LG have fixed the bug, we can no longer do the same tricks now.

For MM, unless you've found a way to get the SELinux context needed, repacking the system image will not work.
anyone having any luck with rooting MM?
I think at this point what we really need is a small set of testers who have a good insurance policy on their phones and are willing to risk bricking their phones. We've got the outline of a method which looks viable, but the details haven't been worked out and is hence likely to produce a few bricks before we get it working.
Sorry for dropping of the face of the planet for the past two months. In testing with my device it ended up being FUBAR after wiping my aboot completely and with that the phone would not boot to anything but a black screen. I sent it into LG and after some time they finally just replaced my motherboard. But the absolute sad part is that they have me upgraded to 6.0 which absolutely is crushing my world. SO until further notice I will not be testing the unlocking of the bootloader anymore but I will make efforts here in a few weeks to start work on rooting the device. @alvislee[email protected]

For anybody that has ALREADY unlocked their bootloader >> PLEASE READ!

Hi, I am new to the Nokia 7 Plus forums, and I know that a bootloader unlocking method is sorely needed.
I would like to ask those who have ALREADY unlocked their bootloaders to send me the signature file they used in the "fastboot flashing unlock..." command.
By sending me this file, I can TRY to determine how the IMEI and Serial Number is used to generate the bootloader signature file and, If successful, I can release an unofficial bootloader unlocking method, for FREE.
OR IF SOMEBODY IS ROOTED, PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS AND SEND ME THE FILE GENERATED AFTER:
1. Connect your phone to your PC with USB Debugging on
2. Open Command Prompt and type "adb shell".
3. Then type "su"
4. Then type "cd /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name"
5. Then type "ls -al"
6. Then, you will need to find the "mmcblk0p?" that is listed on the same line as "aboot" (e.g. mmcblk0p1)
7. Once you have found that, type "dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/(the mmcblk0p that you got above) of=/sdcard/aboot.img"
8. Then send me the aboot.img file that is located on your phone's SD card.
This applies to all owners of the Nokia 5, 5.1, 6, 6.1, 7, 7+, 8, 8 Sirocco
I hope someone can help you here bro. Mine is locked or I'd definitely do it.

Well by looking on the threads around Nokia devices, it seems that there are people who used this method to unlock the bootloader
Hi, I have sent you a PM with the key for my Nokia 7. I hope you are able to find something out of them
Development is growing:laugh:
Hi everyone, a quick update:
My Nokia 7 Plus is currently in for repair so I will still try to decipher the signature files before I try any bootloader unlock, and I won't be trying to unlock the bootloader until I get my 7+ back from the shop, but once it gets back....
You're the man! I wish I can help you but unfortunately my device is locked.

My device is locked too, I will have to try and find out how the signature files are generated and test them on my own device (when I get it back)
Still in mail war with nokia. Let's hope they unlock it. First win is mine. They send the case higher up. So fingers crossed

I really hope we can figure something out. And pressure Nokia into unlocking the bootloader and release kernel sources.

It is possible. I've done it today. Paid for the signature file, applied it based on the instructions and tada I have unlocked the bootloader. It was a hard earned 5 dollars...
BTW would that aboot.img file be the boot image? Cuz I would need to extract mine and patch it with magisk to get root. Can you tell me how to pull it? Thanks. Signature file I'm not willing to share, sorry, as it probably contains my IMEI. But if you have a Nokia, I'll pay you the 5 bucks to get your own file which you can then reverse engineere.
5$ for unlocking is not a big deal,so don't waste time by finding how the serial number and IMEI number combination works to create bin...unlock the bootloader and try to make custom roms bro, spend time there
By the way I have unlocked and rooted my 7 plus ?

LG-K30 (KM-X410MK) Bootloader unlock

Hi,
I'm very new to all of this, and I'm trying to root my LG-30 to recover deleted material. I've been able to reach the fastbooter, but when I try commands to do the unlock.bin, it says it doesn't exist....so then I copied the 64 digit device id and tried going to the LG site to get the key, but LG said it wasn't available for this model.
Soooo....knowing full well that I'm an idiot, could somebody walk me through if there is any way possible at this point to root the phone? If not, is there any other way to get deleted info?
Thank you so much!

Sorry to break it to you but you can't unlock the bootloader. I don't think there's an exploit that patches the unlock.bin file and since LG isn't adding any more phones to support unlocking, the best you can do is wait for a new exploit or method out there.
EDIT: i kinda feel stupid responding to a 6 month post lol

bricked lg v50 sprint variant.

so, i was following the guide for the bootloader unlocking process and succeeded. rooting process is what bricked my phone, unfortunately.
i loaded the patched magisk image in to boot_a like it said, and hoping that everything would have went well, it did not.
now phone will not boot. recovery modeis broken. adb does not recognize my device, and i have no clue how to get to edl mode from there.
as far as im aware, there is no kdz for the lg v50 sprint variant. (v450) unfortunately.
can anyone help me?
i feel like im SOL
It's not my main phone, but I really like the cameras on it. Was just looking to rid it of lgs software.

It boots into fastboot as soon as it boots up. So there's hope. Adb just doesn't recognize my phone. The thread said it worked, and everyone else who had the sprint v50 said it worked. So I don't know what went wrong

You just need to find a V50 Sprint device from another user or your friend, then backup all partitions, back them up, then flash to your device.
Note: ignore imei partitions
How would I flash it? Through fastboot and adb? I've already found one.
hello?
You flash them through fastboot by giving the following command:
fasboot [file name i.e abl_a] [file location]
Alternatively if you can go back to EDL/QFIL/9008 mode, you can load through the software

Yeah, I've heard this is risky, but I'm willing to take the risk because Android 11 ruined my phone and basically added 3 or 4 years to the battery of a phone that I only had for 7 months and was working great before this crap.
And once again, Thanks for this help. I appreciate it very much, even if it doesn't work.
And I had a question before I proceeded. There was an update that came along with Android 11 from Motorola on that same day. The update basically changed my look screen, peek display. Doing all this should get rid of that too and make everything look how it did before the update?

Not yet, I'm sorry. I'm still reading over the info and trying to put everything in order. So unlocking the bootloader is the first step? And is it ok if I use the method on this site?

What about the ADB tool?
Where it says " We recommend not to use the 15 seconds Adb installer on new devices". Like, is my phone considered a newer device lol? I don't really know. Should I go ahead and use the latest version anyway?
