Downgrading the android version with Moto firmware is always a risk.
If you downgrade you need to disable updates, OTA updates could brick the device.
Once the bootloader is unlocked, find your
Software Channel, it will be like, Retail, RetUS, Verizon, metroPC
You can find your firmware here
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/sofiap/official/
download. and Unzip it
Check if your device uses fastbootd
Flash option 1
Find the flashfile.xml in the firmware folder
and use the online flashfile converter to get the flash commands
add the fastboot reboot fastboot commands if you have a fasbootd device.
Flash Option 2
Install LMSA
use the rescue option to download the current firmware for your device
move the LMSA firmware to a different folder
rename the Android 10 firmware folder to the same name as LMSA firmware.
Move that folder to LMSA download folder
Use the rescue option to flash renamed firmware.
There is no guarantee that either method will work, but they should.
On the phone
Toggle off "install updates" option in Dev Options

Yeah, I've heard this is risky, but I'm willing to take the risk because Android 11 ruined my phone and basically added 3 or 4 years to the battery of a phone that I only had for 7 months and was working great before this crap.
And once again, Thanks for this help. I appreciate it very much, even if it doesn't work.
And I had a question before I proceeded. There was an update that came along with Android 11 from Motorola on that same day. The update basically changed my look screen, peek display. Doing all this should get rid of that too and make everything look how it did before the update?

Android Q on Converted T-Mobile OP7 Pro

As you know finally there is the MSM Tool for converting your T-Mobile branded OP7 Pro to international.
I have fully converted, downloaded the Android Q Developer preview and tried installing it via Local Upgrade has instructions said with no luck.
1. The .Zip file is in the root directory
2. The extension is .Zip and not .Jar
3. Local upgrade recognizes the .zip file but fails to install
Anybody has tried yet? This is what I get.

You converted but did you unlock the bootloader?
Have you tried flashing in TWRP?
Honestly I wouldn't even flash it unless you are aware of the bugs and anything bad you may experience along the way.
I wish you luck.

Yeah you need to unlock bootloader.
The page should have mentioned that as a requirement to flash betas.
Hopefully soon it will become better. But do let me know how it is . I'm pretty sure no one has actually flashed it and reported how the experience was.

If you flash the beta on the T-Mobile variant the it's the same beta as the unlocked device. You need to be bootloader and SIM unlocked and it will work the same as flashing the International OS or most custom ROMs

bricked lg v50 sprint variant.

so, i was following the guide for the bootloader unlocking process and succeeded. rooting process is what bricked my phone, unfortunately.
i loaded the patched magisk image in to boot_a like it said, and hoping that everything would have went well, it did not.
now phone will not boot. recovery modeis broken. adb does not recognize my device, and i have no clue how to get to edl mode from there.
as far as im aware, there is no kdz for the lg v50 sprint variant. (v450) unfortunately.
can anyone help me?
i feel like im SOL
It's not my main phone, but I really like the cameras on it. Was just looking to rid it of lgs software.
Which abl you used to unlock? The one provides for LG G8 is untested for sprint V50,it's highly you missed something, you need get into the abl's fastboot mode to flash back the original kernel

It boots into fastboot as soon as it boots up. So there's hope. Adb just doesn't recognize my phone. The thread said it worked, and everyone else who had the sprint v50 said it worked. So I don't know what went wrong
I didn't use the file for the g8.

You just need to find a V50 Sprint device from another user or your friend, then backup all partitions, back them up, then flash to your device.
Note: ignore imei partitions
How would I flash it? Through fastboot and adb? I've already found one.
hello?
You flash them through fastboot by giving the following command:
fasboot [file name i.e abl_a] [file location]
Alternatively if you can go back to EDL/QFIL/9008 mode, you can load through the software

Question Bootloader unlock

So long story short
I purchased the tencent version from a reseller, that had unlocked the bootloader and flashed the WW firmware, changed the FP & then relocked it.
Now I'm f##### and don't know what to do.
Can anyone please assist me with any information in regards to "how to unlock without the unlock tool"
Or, direct me to someone/website that I can pay to have it done.
Muchly appreciated

The rumor is that once the bootloader is unlocked and locked again, it can no longer be unlocked a second time. It may work to flash a new bootloader (which is what the EDL restore does as part of the process).
I would suggest taking a look into https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/repair-your-asus-rog-phone-5-with-edl-mode.4271121/ but know that the directions are pretty rough. Make sure to read everything twice before clicking buttons and if you watch the video, make sure to wait until he moves to the next step before following along because it looks like the video was his first time doing it.

Question concerning the above.
I unlocked BL, flashed Magisk, but now, without any action from my side I see "unlock OEM" option is not greyed as it was during unlocking BL.
Does it mean it locked itself?
Mentioned rumor I hear first time, but it is good anyway that I've read it early enough, before playing too far with my smartphone.

5. When running if you have placed only one .ofp file in the folder it will automatically select it.
6. Choose the region you want to install, if you don't know you can search on google country code, or go in automatic mode by adb (if your cell phone isn't bricked).
7. Then it will ask if you want to keep some partitions (if you're doing it for bootloader lock you can't keep any).
8. Accept the terms and then plug the device into fastboot mode.
9. Done!
Note: after this process if you want to lock the bootloader, restart again in fastboot mode and type the command "fastboot flashing lock"
At last! Thank you! Will try it as soon as I have some free time to do it!
One quick question please. So let's say I want to go from Europe to India rom. I need to unlock bootloader and start the process you described. Do I need to take backup any partition in order not to lose IMEI or something? And after flashing to relock bootloader only type "fastbook flashing lock"? Some people were saying there is no official method to relock the bootloader again that's why I'm asking.

almost that, you don't lose the imei, you lock the bootloader I've already tested and proven it, but I don't recommend doing it without the rom that comes on your device.if you want to test, but it can happen hardbrick.

You mean lock the bootloader with the rom that my device has already? So if it's europe it has to stay europe and do the lock if I understand correctly.

That's right, I don't know if blocking with a system from another region would work, it could even work, but it's risky to test, only if you have 10usd to pay for the hard unbrick.

Listen, the thing is that I wouldn't even bother to test another rom. I already have made a thread here asking for some help because I have problem with incoming caller ID on 4G/5G with VoLTE enabled. Since no solution has been found, even after contacting Realme, the next thing to try was another (stock always) rom to see if it would work. If I would try to change rom I have to be VERY careful because there are absolutely NO service centers of Realme in my country. That's why I'm asking these questions. I want to know how safe is to "transfer" from another rom and if it is posible to return to my stock rom again with locked bootloader.

It's with my tool, it's totally safe, and it's easy to return to your region of origin, she has some protection so that nothing serious happened.

Thank you man. Totally appreciate your effort. Just to be clear one last time. You can do w/e test you want by changing roms/regions with unlocked BL and then after if you want to return your phone to what it was from factory you flash again your initial rom and lock BL.

correct
great work thank you
Sorry if I may ask for clearer steps. The steps is kinda vague like you did not mention anything that need to be prepared from the device. And, if we change to another region rom, do we get future OTA official update form realme? Thank you in advance.

Question How do you root moto g stylus 5G (denver/osaka)?

So I've been working with tech for a long time, but I've never rooted a device.
My main phone is a Galaxy A10e, soon to be an S10, and I have a spare phone that I want to root.
It's the (You guessed it) moto g stylus 5G (denver/osaka)
Every time i try to get into fastboot, it just reboots. Any ideas?
Also, is there anyone who has rooted this device before and can help me? Thx if so.
I've been on a lot of websites and ended up with th same result: FAILURE.
So I hope a actual person can help. Thanks!
P.S. I saw comments about T-Mobile and Metro, I have TextNow Wireless. Idk what that runs on tho.
Before you can do anything else you need to unlock your phones bootloader at the official motorola website.
Unlocking the Bootloader | Motorola Support US
Visit the customer support page to view user guides, FAQs, bluetooth pairing, software downloads, drivers, tutorials and to get repair and contact us information.
motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com
Head to that website and follow the instructions to unlock the bootloader. Once you do that, you need to download the Rescue and smart assistant tool and do a backup of your device.

Once you do that. You will need to patch your boot.img using Magisk to gain root access.
Do you know how to use androids ADB tools and commands?
Ok first of all, thanks for the bootloader thing.
Second of all, yes, I do know how to use adb.
And third of all, is boot.img just the TWRP file for your device, or is it something else?

Its something else.. umm after you download that Motorola software, plugin your phone and it will automatically download the firmware for your phone. after it does that you need to browse to your C drive at ProgramData/RSA/Download/RomFiles/DENVER_GLOBAL
In that directory you will find boot.img. you need to move that file onto your phone (I put mine in the Download directory.
Install Magisk {see post attachment) and then go ahead and patch boot.img, it will generate a new patched boot.img, you need to flash that onto your phone via fastboot.
Ok thanks, I will do that
OK hold on, what Motorola software?

@jpearson82 Thank you for all of your help, I ended up unlocking the bootloader but then dropping the phone by accident and ruining the screen before I could root it. You have been a reliable source, and I appreciate that. Again, thank you.
