So i successfully rooted my Moto G 2nd Gen using KingRoot. Not too long after i had finished downloading Adblocker, a messaged popped up saying i had to "reboot" the phone and that's exactly what i ended up doing. That's when the phone wouldn't boot
.........later, after a bit of research i had found that my phone was stuck in a bootloop.
So i took it to Wind (the company i'm with) and without knowing that the phone was rooted, they told me that they could fix it only if i bring the receipt. I purchased this phone on August 14, 2015, the one year warranty still stands. But the receipt was long gone. No receipt, no warranty service.
I went back to the store where i bought the phone....but they can't seem to pull up the receipt. They said because it's been almost a year since i bought the phone.
Anyways, i am here for help. The phone is in a bootloop and not only that but USB Debugging is not on (i believe). I don't remember turning it on. But i want you guys to understand that I AM A NEWBIE.
I also tried to Factory reset it from Recovery but that didn't help. Btw, since i did a factory reset is the phone still rooted? Isn't KingRoot supposed to be deleted from the factory reset?
One more thing, the phone is a Moto G 2nd Gen, Model: XT1064 (if that helps). :good:
Please Help.
After this i don't thing i will ever root another phone again.

Its the thread for moto g 2015(osprey) not moto g 2014(titan),sorry. You should put up this question there for answers.
BTW, you shouldn't use apps like kingroot that already have a manual root method. In your case probably its unlock bootloader>twrp>SuperSU zip>rooted succesfully. (This is a standard procedure, make sure to read and understand the process specific to your device that are available in your device thread)
And no, kingroot superuser app would not be affected by factory reset as its resides in /system and factory reset wipes out /data and cache partitions.

Its 9 months since I bought the Moto G (1st gen) and yesterday I changed the screen lock code and when I tried the code again it keeps on saying "Wrong Pin".
The phone is still in warranty but i am sure that the service people shall hard reset the phone and make me lose all my contacts and data.
The device is not modded or rooted in any way and is on stock.
Is there anyway to fix this?

no isolved the problem using google's android device manager....
But stlll thanks.....
This is an xpost from where i posted originally (Moto G - 2014) since I was in the wrong forum. Please forgive.
I'm running 4.4.4 stock on an XT 1040 (the LTE Canadian Rogers variant of the MotoG). I had unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone, but other than that kept the stock image. About 2 weeks ago my wife, with the same model, was offered 5.0.1 (or some version of Lollipop) OTA. She upgraded no probs (other than hanging a long time on the download screen). About 3 days later I was offered OTA on my rooted MotoG. After running through the download, it rebooted and tried applying the update and got mid way through and rebooted back to 4.4.4 saying there was an error. I tried again, same problem. So I started reading posts and realized that while my image was stock, because of the way I must have gained root the OTA update wouldn't apply because the kernel must be altered.
So, I followed the instructions here (linky) to go back to the stock image, but now it's been about a week and I have not been offered the OTA again. A couple days ago I talked with Motorola about whether OTA is re-offered in situations like mine if its offered once and the guy said no and to call Google to get them to re-initiate it. I'm not really positive I trust that answer since he seemed kind of, well, "level1tech" and seemed anxious to get off the line.
Anybody know if the OTA is tied to your IMEI or google accounts and whether it's likely it will be offered again?
TIA
Hi guys, I'm kinda lost by now.
I tried to root my Moto G 1st Gen today, but whenever it was supposed to reboot again after to rooting process, I got the "dead" android with the no command warning. So I tried to some alternatives with the only result that my phone is now stuck in a bootloop. Luckily I can still access the bootloader menu, but when I try flash back to the firmware, I get the hab "check failed for boot" and recovery message, with the result that it doesn't work and I'm still in the same situation. I guess I have the wrong firmware but I can't seem to find the correct 1st gen xt1034 firmware for a german phone.
So yeah, if you could help me, that would be reaaaaally great, and if you need some additional information, I'll try my best to find it out.
Cheers
Hi,
you are sure you have an xt1034 german phone? From what I read, the xt1034 is special to America, so you should find your answer here. Good luck on reviving your phone!
Moto G 3rd Generation OTA update pending as rooted
Update Pending: 23.51.65.en.03
Current Build Number: LPI23.72-47
Hardware: XT 1550
Model: Moto G 3rd Generation
Purchased on flip kart three months back and unlocked and rooted.
I have been reading numerous threads but so much scared and confused as to how to get this update which is flashing from last 6 weeks I guess.
Pls could someone explain step by step how to manually update this OTA WITHOUT wiping data pls. Also how to root again after this update.
For first time rooting I followed some YouTube video but not finding any video for above activity.
Kindly help as I have really tried my best but cannot find a way.
Guys Kindly respond Pls. Need urgent Help. Looking forward to ur help.
what exactly u want to do now?
To unroot, simply open your supersu app, go to settings, scroll down and select Full unroot.
To re-root, just re-install twrp and then re-flash supersu
edit:
Be sure to re-lock your bootloader after un-rooting
an then unlock your bootloader before reinstalling twrp.
You're going to spend a whole lot of time getting your phone back to 100% stock. It will be far quicker to just flash a factory image and be done with it.
Not sure whether your answer really answers my question
But will this not reset all data and wipe...also can we do factory reset on unlocked bootloader and rooted device?
Senior members pls guide. Kindly help.
I was facing problems like lags and battery/memory leaks since i got my MOTO G (XT1032) updated to 5.0.2. Then i received 5.1 but no improvement. Unfortunately, my device not going to receive 5.1.1, then i decided to downgrade it to 4.4.4. But again, my brother updated it with OTA 5.0.2 and while installation it went all black. Just LED blink while charging or using key combinations but not getting bootloader/fastboot. It is completely dead. MOTO Care say we need to change motherboard but it's not an hardware issue. So please, if someone know what is the actual issue, kindly help me.

maybe because of bootloader..?
You flashed Bootloader repeatedly with different versions. OTA Updates also included Bootloader upgrade. You have hard-bricked your phone.
Motherboard does indeed need to be replaced, alternatively join all the other lost souls in this thread who have been waiting for almost a year for a fix:

no fastbooty, no fixy

1). What if I get it's "BOOT IC" (instead of whole motherboard) replaced for a new one ? Will it work?
2). And what does this mean "FAILED (blank-flash:sdl-transfer-image:sdl-hello:invalid HDLC frame)" ?

If no-one responds here, I suggest you ask your questions in the 'Hard-Brick' thread I linked to. Regarding, solution (1) - I've never heard it proposed before, but I'm no expert in this area.
Same problem((((
