TWRP for LYF Wind 4 - General Questions and Answers

I rooted my phone with Kingroot. After rooting I used flasher to install custom recovery, but unfotunately it failed and now I my phone is not having recovery.Whenever I boot my phone in recovery it stucks on boot logo even after hours. But normal boot (in android )works.I want a recovery for my phone. It is LYF wind 4.
Thanks in advance.

I too am searching for any custom recovery for wind 4...
If u do know how to replace kinguser with supersu, please tell me... whenever I open supersu, it doesnt open. It stucks giving blackscreen

Not sure if it will ever be released cos it is a local brand in India only.
Even I have a wind 4 with root from kingroot and update is disabled now.

So guys, does rooting break the OTA udpates that we get from "Wireless Update" app?
I have the lyf wind 4 and i am looking forward to root it but i doubt there will ever be a custom rom for this and therefore i want to keep receiving the ota updates.
Please advice.

It means flash the BOOT file as BOOTLOADER in Odin. Here are the steps I did, in detail.
Make sure you have copied the superuser.zip to your SDcard before you begin.
- Flash the recovery as PDA (I unchecked the autoboot, just to keep everything in control)
- Remove data cable
- Remove battery for a few seconds and put it back
- Go in download mode again, and flash the BOOT file as BOOTLOADER (This time, checked the autoboot option)
- Phone starts in CWM recovery
- Flash the SU
In case you're still having trouble, go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and search for s7262, download the kernel for YOUR COUNTRY and flash it as PDA through Odin. Then follow the above steps.
Don't forget to thank the guy

No progress. The screen goes white as soon as the samsung boot sound starts. Any chance you have a copy of the original bootloader? We can flash that after installing SU.

Actually I think it's the bootloader. Just worked fine the first time.. After second boot I'm getting white screen (same thing that used to come previously when I flashed recovery). Let's see if this gets fixed, otherwise this whole operation would just die.
Lesson here is: Cheaper android phones are crap . I'm using an HTC amaze, and it was one hell of a task to root it! But at least it responded to logic.

Hey Thanks for reply, i resolved that issue by trying to turn on the phone by usb power, phone boots up normally but without any signal both sims are properly inserted but no signal (may be IMEI issue) how to resolve it???. ( procedure i followed for previous attempt, i am currently on JellyBean my stock android version(people say Mi509 come with KITKAT out of box but its not in case of my phone. i followed your procedure as it is, downloaded attachment and MobileUncle apk installed that apk , opened that uncle and selected recovery update and it automatically restarted.)
now i know that my standard Android Recovery was OVERWRITTEN by custom recovery and i DIDNT backup my stock recovery . what should i do. ( i read something about EFS partition which contains IMEI info which was corrupted by custom recovery i believe ). and also please send me backup of recovery partition (or EFS) to me @ [email protected] i will set my own IMEI nos using Enginering Mode apk . this is my only phone please help me

thats why i was asking about android version....

use database file from second link bcoz this database is for spice mi509....
and next time dont flash rom if you have jellybean

flashtool will work on your pc and laptop...
download firmware and then install drivers given in it in your pc then open your flashtool and load bootloader...
now connect your device to pc via data cable with or without battery ...
then click on download button in flashtool and press vol down on device.
then update will start..

I am still trying to find a rooting method that works. TCL VFD 1100 has similar hardware to the Pixi 4 (7) 3G so a root method for the Pixi should work. But unfortunately there's nothing for the Pixi too!?

Thank you. I will also give it a try:good:
I have successfully rooted mine. The process steps as follows:
download and port twrp recovery
download disk-info for mappings of mount points
port twrp and flash using spflash tool
download supersu and copy to sdcard
reboot to recovery and click install
navigate to the supersu zip and swipe to confirm
For some reason I can't post links here so I can't give you the links to the twrp and other stuff
Root Failed

My journey to overcome Google's FRP and to root my VFD 1100
Hey guys (and gals). Firstly, I'd like to say that I am a complete novice at rooting phones so this has been a harrowing experience. I have had a real round about experience rooting my VFD 1100. I successfully managed to do it but it took me a whole day and involved soft bricking it (no OS and no ability to access the recovery menu) but I managed to bring it back to life. This is my story.
I have had my device for 10 months but last used it in July. I forgot my unlock pattern and did a factory reset only to find out about the Factory Reset Protection (FRP). I tried using the email address that I previously used on the device and got the 24 hour waiting period message. I didn't read the message propery and tried about 5 times using 3 different email addresses before reading it properly. I then waited 36 hours and still got the 24 message. I then did some research and read somewhere that 3 failed attempts to log into my Google account while still in FRP mode would lock it permanently and only Vodacom (Vodafone in South Africa) could unlock it with a proof of purchase. I was given the tablet as part of my college enrolment so that was out of the question so I looked into re-flashing it.
With lots of research I came across numerous sites (including here) with a step by step process. I downloaded and installed MT65XX preloader drivers (and also had the "This device cannot start (Error 10)" problem and subsequently found out that it didn't matter), TWRP and SPFT. I flashed superuser.zip but while I was there, I fully backed up my device and then formatted everything (including the system partition), not expecting it to remove the operating system and restarted. Well, that was not the greatest idea in the world because all I got after that was "Powered by Android" and nothing else. No OS, no ability to load the recovery tool, NADA! I honestly thought I had bricked the tab.
But I am a stubborn bastard and refused to give up. I found that if I used SPFT and flashed all the firmware including the boot preloader, boot partition, system and all the rest, I should be able to recover the device. I started looking around for an Alcatel Pixi 4 9003 firmware flash file and found LOADS on Indian sites (where the Vodafone VFD 1100 is called the Alcatel Pixi 4) but they were all password protected. I should have just stuck with "Vodafone VFD 1100" cos I got the firmware files, loaded them into SPFT, flashed the device and BOOM! IT WORKED! Straight back to stock. I took a 99.99% bricked device and brought it back to working condition.
All credit has to go to @kirito9 for his post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72282703&postcount=1732). His guide worked perfectly. My device is now rooted and I've even started customising the boot animation and other stuff.

With the 610XX model u just unlock Bootloader when u mark OEM unlock. Before flash root and recovery.
So u can use any custom Rom.

What about Magisk? Or you can use EliteRom for j7 Prime, it's a bloatware-free stock rom with pre-rooted Magisk.
If you decide to install it, you can follow these steps. It doesn't require OTG cable don't worry
