I'd like to flash the latest firmware for my g930f. I don't want to have to re-root etc. Can I just unzip the file and flash everything except the CSC?

Root files are in the system so.... you will lose root. CSC is for specific configurations and features market depend. You can flash the leasted firmware and use CSC from your country/provider together. Use odin v3.11.1 and use Home_CSC....... file if you don't want lose our data.

I have been searching around and haven't fond any clear answers around these questions. I have an exynos S7 and I want to change my CSC to the XSA (Australia version)
My understanding is the way to change CSC is to flash a stock firmware with the CSC you want.
- If I flash the stock rom will it wipe my data? Do I need to have "repartition" unticked to keep my data?
- Do I have to flash a newer firmware or can i flash the same/earlier firmware?
- In fact, can I just flash the XSA CSC without the rest of the firmware?
Many thanks to anyone who can help.
You don't need to flash stock firmware to get another CSC, just download the specific CSC zip flashable and flash or use Multi CSC flasher via TWRP
Thanks but I should have clarified, I want to keep knox untripped.
Do you know if stock rom flash with a new csc will cause a wipe?

Flashing ( odin ) stock firmware does not trip knox........
Hello everyone,
I just flashed the Nougat update to my SM-G930F and I just flashed the AP File.
Do I need to flash and the CSC and the BL files ?
Thank you
Normally you should flash 4 files in the same odin session. Ignore the home_csc file.

You should flash all 4 files in their corresponding places. Just leave HOME_CSC and just use CSC
Hi I usually download from sammobile where they have one file and I select ap it does everything itself. However I have downloaded from updato website it has given loads of small files like ap, bl, csc.. Do I use all them for the upgrade on odin or can I just up the ap?
the files are like the following: BL_G935FXXU1DQB3_CL10422490_QB12410567_REV00_user_low_ship.tar
my version on my current phone is g935fxxu1bplb
Thanks

Do NOT select the regular CSC file that starts with CSC in its name, as that would replace your CSC and thus would result in a factory data reset of the device.
Click on CSC tab and select the firmware file starting with HOME_CSC in its name

You need to flash all of them (bt/ap/cp). Regarding the csc: if your csc is equal (or included in case of multi-csc roms) to the one of the rom you are going to flash (meaning: you have installed a BTU rom and you are going to flash a rom with the BTU csc) then use the home_csc as it will update the csc to its latest version without making a factory reset. If your csc doesn't match with the one of the new rom then you either use the home_csc of your actual rom or use the CSC file (bot the home) of the new one (this will factory reset your phone so backup first)

I want to downgrade my galaxy s7 to a previous security patch in nougat without lose my apps and data. I read that I have to use CSC_HOME file to flash without wipe the smartphone but I don't know if I have to flash the CSC_HOME file of my current rom or the file of the rom that I want to flash (sorry about my english xD)
If you have TWRP, make a full backup first.
The HOME_CSC is part of the zip file when you download the stock firmware, you can get it from sites like sammobile.com and updato.com. It comes with 5 files, AP, BL, CP, CSC and HOME_CSC

I have the AT&T model, so, I can't install twrp. Do you know how can I install it? because in the official page, it's for the other models of s7
..
Can I flash only the CP file (from original Samsung S8 pie firmware) with Odin (without BL, CSC, AP)?
Just want to update the modem only without losing everything on the phone.

Yes, what you are trying to do is frequently done by Samsung users. You can extract the modem from the firmware and convert it into an Odin flashable .tar.md5 then flash it via Odin in the AP slot.
