Hi
I have a s6 edge running 6.0.1
The phone can't find any 2,4 ghz network only 5 ghz and they work as normal.
On my nexus i can find a toggle in advanced wifi settings to choose between 2,4 and 5 or automatic.
I can't find this option on the stock s6.
Can it be the 2,4 antenna hardware fail?
I have tried to reset the phone.
Thanks
Robert

The specs indicate that the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has a/b/g/n capability.
Why is it that mine doesn't see my home N (5Ghz) network? (the router is broadcasting the SSID and I can connect with other devices)
Anyone else experience this? or know the reasoning?
Thanks.
Why don't you try to change that wifi router?

802.11 N can use 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz (depend on hardware spec), and usually 5 Ghz spectrum are used in some high end / outdoor router. Almost all smartphone and handheld device use standard 2.4 Ghz, so you can set your router to use 2.4 Ghz and "n" network.

Ah.. I see. This must be it. My network is certainly set to 5Ghz. It's interesting to note that my older Atrix can see the 5Ghz network, but the Tab 2 cannot.

its because 5ghz was thought to be the next band standard but it didnt catch on as intended
Well, my question might be sightly obsolete since Nexus 5 already on stock more than a year ago, however I wonder why Google just have one factory image for both variants D820 and D821? Would flashing factory image to change anything in radio parameters? Since in test mode I usually get UMTS/GSM Auto even if I have to change it to WCDMA preferred. Also the only available option to choose radio defaults is the USA one! I have the D821 International variant and I live in Egypt and yet we don't have 4G LTE operators but all friends in same area with Samsung to get H/H+ connection while mine only stuck on EDGE connection. What would be the reason? And how to maintain highest priority to hook to H+?

Hi all,
I'm on UK's 3 (Three) network and just took an upgrade to S6. Since I'm going to get new Nexus5 I gave the phone to my wife since 3 gives new S6 unlocked my wife is with Vodafone.
The problem is Vodafone sucks in my area and in certain places in my home there is no or very poor network connection. With her previous S5 we selected to use 2G only and she gets full signal.
The problem with S6 you can not chose 2G mode there is no such option as on S5 was. I only get these:
LTE/WCDMA/GSM
(auto connect)
WCDMA/GSM
(auto connect)
WCDMA only
There is no GSM only option as it was on S5. And since WCDMA/GSM is auto connect it prioritizes 3G which is very poor.
About the phone:
All stock from 3 (Three UK) used with Vodafone SIM.
Model: SM-G920F
Android: 5.1.1
Baseband: G920FXXU2BOGE
Kernel: 3.10.61-5012324
Build: LMY47X.G920FXXU2BOG8
Is there any way to force 2G only mode without rooting the phone or changing the ROM?
I tried Telinfo app it doesn't launch giving the error message: Your device does not have the required native Google API. (S) And this app works no problem on my Nexus5 with 5.1.1
When I try to input *#*#4636#*#* in dallier nothing happens.
Please Help!
Thank You
I read somewhere here that Nova launcher has a widget to select GSM only. Not tried it myself as I'm also with 3 UK and have good reception. Hope this helps
