Hello hello,
i want to flash a new firmware, but it doesn't work.
I have a S7 SM-G930K and want to install a SM-G930F Firmware.
I downloaded all the files (AP,BL,CP,CSC), added phone in download mode to Odin and tried to Flash.
It just starts and stops immediately. (Pit Security Check failed).
Where is the mistake?
Thanks for helping!
Are you sure they have the same hardware?
通过我的 SM-G935F 上的 Tapatalk发言
Yep, same hadware. No difference
Korean versions are slightly different, they DMB etc. I'm not 100% on actual facts. But they have always been slightly different
You probably need to repartition. But I've never tried it.
What should work is flashing AP CSC from F FW and BL CP from K FW
(I have flashed a custom rom made for F variant using TWRP and BL/CP for K variant with Odin, this works 100%)

Thanks for response.
And this would work? Are there any danger?
So I take AP and CSC from the new Firmware and the BL and CP from the Korean Firmware.
Does anyone tried something like this?
Thanks again for help

This whole process can be done using Odin you mean? Just select the files from different ROMs like you mentioned?

So I downloaded the latest XSA update which came out yesterday on SamMobile, and flashed all four files - only to find that my phone had been wiped, including my /data partition :'(
So my question is - what are the four categories of files to flash in Odin (AP, BL, CSC, HOME)? And which one is responsible for me losing my data?
If you flash CSC will wipe your data. If you flash CSC_HOME will not wipe your data.
AP: is your system partition with recovery and stuff.
BL: your bootloader
CP: your modem
CSC: this is what features you get in some countries or carriers like Wi-Fi Calling.

Thanks for that. So can I flash the CSC file under CSC_HOME?

Yes. In the CSC slot you put the HOME_CSC file

No, you must always flash the 4 files!
If your CSC is XSA:
AP, BL, CP & HOME_CSC_XSA
Then your data will stay intact!
Note: this can only be done if you stay at the same CSC; if you want to change your CSC for any reason, you need to flash CSC-file of the new country/region (that will reset your device)
Re-partition?
Do I have to enable the "RE-PARTITION" option in ODIN when changing CSC?

Hi mate
It is recommended , changing to a total different CSC may need a change in partition size...
For more info read here

Mix and match?
Just wondering, could it be possible to mix and match?
Example: Flash the AP of T-Mobile and the CP of AT&T? To avoid incompatible band problems

Hi
For what I understand all USA ( Snapdragon) versions are compatible , so that would possible BUT to be sure you should ask in the right forum , this is for the international version Exynos
What is the UMS
What is the UMS part of ODIN?
EVERYONE HAVING PROBLEMS TYPING EXIT
Before typing "setsid su<enter>?, type the following: "alias a='exit'<enter>" and THEN type "setsid su<enter>".
IF you do this, you can exit root shell by just "a<enter>", which is cake easy to do.
i made a mistake
cancel
i flashed bl instead of ap what should i do know because phone does't work anymore

Better off using odin.

Download XEF firmware for your phone, and flash all 4 files (BL, CP, AP and CSC). It should go back to normal state.
Hi community, this is a good forum for the SM-G935U as well.
Someone who have the G935U need to try the G9350 TWRP RECOVERY, it supposed to be an UNLOCK BOOTLOADER. I have 4 of the G935T phones but no G935U, also I have the original TWRP RECOVERY for G935T. Maybe that RECOVERY will work on the G935U model. There's a link for TMB-G935U firmware, Sprint SPR-G935U, Verizon VZW-G935U firmware and International G935U firmware. I will upload the latest firmware for US VERSION. ENJOY FELLAS!!!

These are carrier phones not unlocked G935u. Tmobile is G935t, ATT 35A, etc you can see the numbering. These are all locked bootloaders. And they have seperate carrier threads also.

PS: Can you Carrier people that are rooted use flashfire and flash kernels? Or is that broken? What about odin? I need more information if you want roms and kernels.

On t mobile. We can flash roms via flashfire but I don't think we can flash kernels cause our locked bootloader. Only 1 rom available for us on a carrier device. I would LOVE to see some new roms. Also I can be a Tester if you don't have one.

Recently rooted a SM-G935T using the "High-on-android" tutorial. Battery and performance was horrible, until I flashed the Echoe ROM using FlashFire. Flashing the ROM also changed the model number to SM-G935U.

I mean v1.xx? v1.50 is the newest but isn't really ready for the G935t. I think 1.40 or 1.41 were the newest versions that work on tmo. The last time I used Echo it was an early version and it had a lot of issues.

Does the Echoe rom use the U baseband? It must if it changed it or maybe the APK1 CSC MODWM file perhaps.
Baseband is now showing G935TUVU4APIA. I'm not sure what is was before, but guessing it didnt change because of the "T" in the G935T.
Okay so I have this Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge G935U TMobile Version.
What I NEED to know is when using Odin to flash these files which files go to PDA, or PHONE?
Is the AP file for the PDA slot or PHONE slot?
Thank you for your help in advance.
Short question:
Can I flash G930T firmware into a G930AZ Galaxy S7? Have someone tried or accomplished this? If so, how?
Explanation:
I have a cricket wireless branded Galaxy S7, since cricket does not seem to have any interest in releasing android 7 nougat anytime soon, I decided to flash another firmware...
I was planing on using the G930U, but since that one is not available either, I resolved to put up with T-mobile's bloatware;
I tried:
To flash all 4 files from T-mobile's firmware on ODIN
Result: I got an error saying the ext4 file was too big, the device got soft bricked and stuck in a bootloop to recovery, I had to factory reset using the G930AZ files on ODIN
Only the AP file
Result: Same as above
I've read in some forums that I should try to enable the reformat option so it wipes all and creates the partitions with the right size and while that makes absolute sense I don't want to end up with a $600 paperweight.
There's the NAND Erase all option, Flash Lock, T Flash, Phone Bootloader Update and Phone EFS Clear.
Also, I was wondering if it was possible to mix and match files, example: flash the AP file from T-Mobile's Nougat while keeping the CSC and CP of Cricket (CSC: Cricket does not support Wi-Fi calling, CP: To avoid problems with unsupported bands)
I have the BL, AP , CP, CSC files of both the cricket's Android 6 and T-mobile's Android 7.
Thanks you in advance for your time and effort in answering
You should consider on using .PIT file along with others.
Therefore you will remap your partitions to match filesystem sizes.
But I must warn you: do not mess with the partitions if YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING.

In theory it's inside one of the .MD5 files you must use in ODIN.
Try to download official trusted firmware package source such as one from sammobile.com or updato.com and follow the instructions to flash it

New Odin version was leaked!
Odin 3.13.1
This version of Odin allows you to flash newer firmwares with compressed binaries (lz4).

Download G950FXXU1CRB7 firmware using SamFirm (Model: SM-G950F; Region: DBT; Auto; Check CRC32; Decrypt Automatically; then press "Check Update" and "Download")
Extract downloaded ZIP file
Open Odin and load corresponding package to each slot (BL, AP, CP, CSC)

DBT region receives firmware with OXM multi-CSC, which also includes TPH CSC (Portugal), so there should not be any issues.

I loaded the .tar files into Odin.
Auto Reboot is checked.

Everything else is unchecked.
After my phone boots into download mode do i have to press anything on it or i just press start on Odin ?

Use HOME_CSC not CSC, however, if there would be any issue during the upgrade, the storage would show only 16GB and you would have to do a factory reset anyway. If you are going to try to do the upgrade, I strongly recommend backing up your data.

Yes, that's right. Samsung did not update modem firmware or CSC package. Only bootloader and AP (system) were updated.
I flashed Oreo CRB7 final build from Germany and everything is great. But notifications for viber doesnt work as supposed. When i snooze them for only 15 minutes they never appear again and even after 2 hours when i open viber app i have new messages for which i didnt get notification neither sound and stays like that. But when i restart phone everything becomes normal untill i snooze some notification again. I did clean install, clear cash twice and factory reset the phone before Oreo.
Followed the instructions from this site step by step (it was flashing with extracting .lz4 extensions). Help?
