NTFS support on XtreStoLite Marshmallow Rom - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I'm just wondering if there's a way to enable ntfs support on XtreStoLite 3.2 MM Rom. I used to have it working while running Lollipop version of this great Rom. Guess it's something related to MM. Thanks anyway!

In order to transfer files to my 1TB external hard drive. It used to work on Lollipop.

Any filesystem should work. It doesn't matter because of MTP (I think).

Man I'm talking about using otg to connect USB hard drive directly to the phone. Guess you ain't know what is that, right?

I use the Paragon NTFS app. It lets me mount my NTFS OTG Hard drive and then access it from other file explorers. Requires root.

I tried with no success. I tap mount but nothing seems to happen. What Rom are you running?
Actually I have systemless root (selinux in enforcing mode) so paragon pops up a warning about selinux not being in permissive mode which could cause app to not work properly.

There is an app called selinuxmodechanger which can be used to change from enforcing to permissive. It's on xda but googling it will take you to the right place too.

Could it be changed without any issue for the system itself?

I've used it previously and haven't had any issues, and even if you do come across anything weird you can switch between default enforcing and permissive on the fly.

I'm running on stock ROM without root. I use ES File Explorer to access USB devices running NTFS via OTG.

Oh, so I guess it must be something related to XtreStoLite 3.2. I'm not sure what's the culprit. Damit.

Sounds like a rom related issue to me, the rom I'm on is already permissive by default (tyrannus rom)

Which model do you have? What's the build date of your Rom? Thinking of going stock once again.

It does not work sometimes.
Other way is to reboot, get the kernel dmesg and search for AVS-Group entries.

How do i do the hotspot patch for marshmallow without having to root? Before all you needed to do was change apn settings but i dont see that option anymore
I've never seen the Sprint proxy part of that. Anyone have more info on that?

I believe you may be able to get it back if you roll back to Lolli, get your hotspot fix going, and then OTA all the way back through to MM. I haven't done this but I am thinking I saw other say they have...others may have to chime in on this one.
You can always root and flash a custom ROM that has a built in hotspot hack.
Yeah when i updated it had hotspot previously and after update worked for a while just stoppped today

Need a root for s6, can't find support anywhere. Pingpong will not work.

baseband version g920vvru4b0k7 or build number lmy47x. I cannot find how to root this phone anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There is no root for this phone....
Suh dude, your straight outta luck just like the rest of us. No matter how much you want it....there won't be root for this device because of the locked bootloader and virtually no development on the verizon side anyways.
Just rooted sm-g920p with c-f auto root. Pf4 is the version im on

It's been a while since I've last messed with it, but my memory says I had issues reading an OTG-ready flash drive until I used my bacon to format the drive in the OS (not recovery). It recognized that I had a drive plugged in, but it couldn't read anything I had on it.
Bear in mind, you'll wipe everything from the drive if you do this, but it was the only way to format the drive so that my phone could read it. But again, it's been a while since I did this last.
