On marshmallow 6.0.1 g920v
Push volume down,home and power while on setup screen and let go as soon as it turns off
Scroll down to last option and turn on USB debugging ( select it with home button )
MUST CONNECT TO WIFI ON DEVICE AFTER YOU'VE ENABLED USB DEBUGGING
Now create a new Samsung account email ( on PC or another device ) and write it down you'll need it in a sec
And download APOWERSOFT PHONE MANAGER onto PC just search google should find it easy
After its installed and opened (the program) connect your device to PC and the program should start to connect to device automatically
You should be on different screen on device now then push the menu option on top right corner and push more tools and find phone transfer option on next screen and it should take you directly to google play log in with an email address ( NOT the new Samsung one yew created ) after logged in download and install shake to settings then open select on and shake your phone and should take you directly to system settings
Go to back up and reset and this is where you enter the new Samsung email address it won't reset it but what it's going to do is add that account to device when your done entering email address and password just simply push back all the way till you reach the setup screen and follow the steps from There and your good
My method found by RighteousONE23
cant enable usb debuging
Yes
While the screen is one hold down the volume down home and power at the same time and as soon as the phone turns off let go of the buttons and it should take you to some settings options and it's the last one and just push home and it will restart back to setup
Thank you very much for sharing. Unfortunately, I can't authorize adb. No popup window is shown and my device connects unauthorized.

A few people seem to have asked about this but haven't got a definitive response. I've tried this about 40 times at this point - still nothing! When I'm at the setup screen (selecting language, WiFi, etc.) and I hold volume down+home+power and then let go as soon as the screen turns off/goes blank..............all that happens is for the phone to boot again normally and then go back to the startup screen again?
While I can easilly access standard recovery mode with the phone powered off at the time, i.e. volume up+home+power (then letting go of just the power button), or even Odin mode i.e. volume down+home+power (then letting go of just the power button) - your method as quote above to enter another hidden menu to enable USB debugging seems to be entirely illusive?
I've tried everything, nothing seems to work and I can't get past the Samsung account login screen (even though I have my correct username & password), it just tells me "processing failed"? Locked out of my phone completely. Any ideas anyone?

Guys,
I found something, which you found or not already. Here is the Safe mode for Our Galaxy R mobile.
How to boot Android 4.1+ into Safe Mode
One of the lesser known, but potentially very useful new features in Android 4.1 and higher (aka Jelly Bean), is the option to boot your device into Safe Mode. This is a power-user feature which can help you to get rid of rogue apps and troubleshoot issues. Getting into Safe Mode is relatively easy, although the method can vary depending on what device you have and how the UI is set up.
How to boot Android 4.1+ into Safe Mode..?? [ For stock JB - which is not introduced for Galaxy R yet]
"The standard way to get into Safe Mode is to hold down the power button on your device until the shut down dialog box pops up, then press and hold the power off option in the menu. This should lead to another dialog box asking you if you want to reboot into Safe Mode.
How to boot Android 4.1+ into Safe Mode..?? [ For CM10 & based on ROM over it]
"The standard way to get into Safe Mode is to hold down the power button on your device until the shut down dialog box pops up, then press and hold the restart option in the menu. This should lead to another dialog box asking you if you want to reboot into Safe Mode.

If your UI doesn't deal with the power off options like this, or if you have an older device (which has somehow been updated to Jelly Bean), you can reboot and then hold the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time to enter Safe Mode. When in Safe Mode, the words "Safe Mode" will show at the bottom of the screen.
Why I need the safe mod..??
Safe Mode will cause your device to boot up, and load only the Android system, no 3rd-party apps. So, if you've had an app that is causing lots of troubles, this could make it much easier to remove the app. And, if you're having issues with your device this could also help figure out if the issue is due to a 3rd-party app or not.
Safe mode eliminates the app present in the app drawer..
but if you have an app shortcut on your home screen... you can use them..!!
I just read this article on phonearena.com..really useful feature, thanks for getting it to d notice of everyone in our forum

Hi there, and thanks for the Recovery !
However, I wasn't able to install it (I could'nt understand the instructions, they are non readable in the .bat file).
Even though I have ADB and drivers installed on my PC, and USB debugging on, when I run the .bat file and click "1", it will boot in fastmode but then will be stuck at "wiating for device".
Am I doing something wrong ?
How did you manage to installl it guys ?

[HOWTO] 4 ways to disable Heads-Up Notifications on Lollipop
Hello, everyone!
I've been asked by a lot of friends on how to disable those notifications which pop up on the top of your phone's screen. They are mistakenly called "pop-up notifications", but their real name is Heads-Up notifications and can be really useful, but sometimes they are extremely annoying. Specially if you need to use a button or something that is located on the top of the screen right when the notification appears. Some ROMs do allow to turn them off in the Settings, but most of them don't.
So in this thread (which is my first here on XDA) I'm gonna put all the info I gathered during my research about disabling the Heads-Up notifications. These methods will COMPLETELY disable them for all applications while MAINTAINING regular notifications in the status bar. All of these methods are free. Some require a rooted device and some don't.

HOW TO DO IT
WITHOUT ROOT
1- ADB method (using your computer) [FREE]
Before trying this method, make sure you have installed Android ADB in your computer, that your phone is connected AND that you have "USB debugging" option enabled in the phone Settings.
If you don't have Android ADB, you can download it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118. If you have any questions concerning ADB and how to use it, take a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225405
a) Open a terminal and check if the device is connected using the following command:
Code:
adb devices
b) You should see your phone on the list that appears. Now use the following command:
Code:
adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
c) Reboot your phone.
d) Done!
2- HeadsOff app method [FREE]
a) Install "HeadsOff - TickerOn" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.noheadsup&hl=en
b) Open the application.
c) Disable the Heads-Up notifications clicking on Settings.
d) Select "Start the App" button.
e) If a "Notification access" screen appears, allow the app to control your notifications by ticking it.
f) Reboot your phone.
g) Done!
Obs1.: Apparently there is also a paid version of this application in which you can enable/disable Heads-Up notifications for each individual application on your phone.
Obs2.: Credit for this method goes to user Jawomo, who posted it on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-headsoff-disable-lollipop-heads-t3117929
WITH ROOT
3- Terminal method (directly from your phone) [FREE]
a) Install "Terminal Emulator for Android" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm&hl=en
b) Open the application. Use the following command:
Code:
su
c) The indicator should change from "$" to "#". Do the following command now:
Code:
settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
d) Reboot your phone.
e) Done!
4- aSQLiteManager app [FREE]
a) Install "aSQLiteManager" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.andsen.asqlitemanager&hl=en
b) Open the app and select "Open Database"
c) Press the ".." button until you reach the root folder ("/") and the ".." button disappears (usually three times).
d) Navigate to the following folder, allowing root request if it pops up: "/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/"
e) Open the file "settings.db"
f) Select "global".
g) Press "PgDn" until you see the "heads_up_notifications_enabled" entry (on my phone it was the last entry, number 173).
h) Click on the "edit" button, change the "value" field to "0" and click "OK".
i) Reboot your phone.
j) Done!
DISCLAIMER/IMPORTANT INFORMATION
I do not have any affiliations with the creators/owners of the applications cited in this post. They were chosen solely based on their ability to accomplish the proposed task. If you see any mistakes or if I forgot to give you credit, please contact me and I will fix that right away. The above methods were tested on my N910C with rooted stock rom (Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - 5.0.1).
If you happen to know any other methods of disabling these notifications, please contact me so I can add them here as well.
THANKS!
adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0 disabled all my notifications all together, not just the heads up, my phone is an Asus Zenfone 2 (ASUS_Z00AD) with all the patches up to July 1, 2016
Can you please confirm that this method works in Android N, as its highly demanded..
I can confirm that this worked on my LGv20 Android N, headsup blocked.. Cant be happier than that.. Thank you..
is this method only disable the heads up notification
or can i still get the notification on the status bar?
and how to enable it again?
How do you reenable heads_up_notifications_enabled?
I tried: adb settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 1
but it still doesn't work

adb confirmed working, just updated my s7 edge to nougat and this issue was frustrating, i also use ticklr app for a preview of notifications without being intrusive

P.S.: Root required. Reboot not required

Hey, finally got the solution that works with the Galaxy S8!!
---------- Post added at 05:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:38 AM ----------
But I bet everybody knows it by now... anyway, if someone needs to know it's kinda easy though. Just gotta keep playing with the options. This way, you'll get sound, vibration and an icon on your locked up phone, but not the heads up banner, even if you've unlocked it and are either on the home, apps drawer pages or inside an app or game while using it. After you apply the solution, you need to restart or reboot the phone and that's it.
---------- Post added at 05:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:45 AM ----------
And as you all probably figure by now, the correct solution seems to be the one proposed by the great (to me anyway because he did it!) rostopira (post #9)! Thanks a lot! I was thinking on moving out to another phone until a solution came but now everything is cool... I know, I know, shouldn't despair and bail out so quickly but whaddayaknow maturity reaches us late in life!

hi, could you please explain the procedure to get it working ?
post number 9 solution needs your phone to be rooted so not much good on the s8 as far as i know ?
thank you
Thanks for asking widget2k13!
Yes of course, you need to be rooted already and as you may guess, yes there's already root and TWRP for the S8. As usual there's already several threads for it here on XDA so I won't go into those details but it's very straight forward and you should be done in about 2 minutes after you download the Magisk version, which comes already with root. Please remember to remove PIN before you do it and all the rest should go easy enough.
Thanks for the help but I was hoping for a fix without root, I've never had a rooted phone and don't want to void my warranty as I took out 2 year extended warranty, having a rooted phone will only benefit me for WhatsApp heads up and nothing else that I can think of.

Thanks for asking! Actually you won't find the app anywhere, all it does is changing the heads up behavior but remember you need to restart or reboot your phone after you installed it.
So no, you won't need to do anything else, all the while assuming that you've already selected the proper notifications' options under both WhatsApp & Messages own settings.
First time I did it I thought nothing had changed but after I restarted the phone twice I realized it worked!
And it works at least with both Messages & WhatsApp, which were the 2 main concerns of mine at the moment. Now I get vibration, sound, an icon, a hidden banner but no pop-ups or flying banner as before and finally some privacy!
Damn, still not working for me, changed all the settings correctly and restarted phone loads of times, looks like I rooted for nothing lol
Hello experts!
I followed this tut here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTlosea6SJE to root my Sony Xperia Z5 phone and to use a costum ROM. Everthing worked, but after (~09:00 min.)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
[I]Okay[/I]
fastboot flash revovery recovery.img
[I]Okay[/I]
fastboot reboot
and entering TWRP (2.8.7.0) by pressing ON + VOL DOWN
I am stuck here.
- I cant get a connection from my PC to the phone, its not recongnized anymore in ADB (result blank) after
Code:
adb devices
- the extra SD card (in SD card slot) is not mounted and the TWRP-mount option dont let me select "Micro SDcard" or "USB OTG".
- I cant copy images or zips or any files to the phone plus I cant read data from the ext. sd card (fat32, 4096 bytes) when inserted in the phone.
Asking for help:
How can I mount the SD card via TWRP-Teminal ?
How can I adb connect the phone to my PC again ?
Any suggestions to reflash the phone ?
I really appreciate any help!
Thans a lot !
Superblond
P.S. sorry for my poor english ...

[SOLVED] Re-flashing a ROM with TWRP only on phone
After failing to manually mount the SD-Card or a USB-Stick via OTG-cable through the Terminal with command line function, the xda-user L33Tgod gave me the (simple) tip via pm to use the flashtool and flash the phone with a valid ROM (again)... THX a lot L33tgod!
As a result, I can access my phone & my SD-Card again. Now I have a working ROM on my phone and I am no longer stuck in a TWRP-Menue only, without the chance to communicate with the phone via ADB etc.
So I followed the below how-to (nothing new, I know, but the solution for my problem)
Flash your FTF firmware file
This section details the steps needed in order to flash new firmware onto your Sony Xperia device.
First of all, open Flashtool and then click on the lightning bolt in the top left of Flashtool as highlighted below.
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Select “Flashmode” and click “OK”.
You should already be in the source folder where the FTF firmware files are located. If not, navigate to: “C:\Users\[Your PC Name]\.flashTool\firmwares”
Select the firmware build version that you want to flash from the “Firmware” pane. Ensure the device variant is the same as the model number of your Sony Xperia device.
If you want to retain your apps, data and media (photos, videos, music), then ensure that the “USERDATA” option within the “Wipe” pane is unticked. However, we recommend that when upgrading a major new Android version, a clean install is the way to go. In this case, tick all options under the “Wipe” pane. This will wipe all of your data though including your photos and videos, so please ensure you have these backed up elsewhere.
IMPORTANT – For FlashTool 0.9.19.10 and older: If you skipped Part 2 of the guide as you already had your own FTF firmware file, then you may see the following ‘SIMLOCK’ option ticked under the “MiscTA Exclude” pane. DO NOT untick SIMLOCK as it could lead to problems with the network lock on your device.
IMPORTANT – For FlashTool versions 0.9.22.0 to 0.9.22.2: The developer has changed the meaning of the tick box in newer versions of Flashtool, which means ticking the box includes “SIMLOCK”. Either way, you want to ensure you are NOT including SIMLOCK when flashing firmware. So to be clear, when presented with the “SIMLOCK” option below, you must NOT tick the box.
NOTE – For FlashTool 0.9.22.3 onwards: The developer has disabled “SIMLOCK”, which means you no longer have to worry about accidentally including it in your firmware flashing. The option is only enabled by entering ‘Pro’ mode. Unless you know what you are doing, then stay well away from Pro mode.
Click “Flash”. Flashtool will then indicate that it is “preparing files for flashing”.
You may have to wait around 60 seconds for the pop-up below to appear. Once it does, you should now connect your Sony Xperia device. Make sure the device is powered off and then hold the ‘volume down’ button whilst connecting the USB cable. Once the pop-up disappears and flashing has started, you can let go of the ‘volume down’ button.
Flashtool will then start flashing your Xperia device.
Once you see “Flashing finished” as indicated below, your Sony Xperia has been successfully flashed.
Congratulations you have just installed Android Marshmallow! Now disconnect your Xperia device and power on the handset. Don’t worry if it takes a while for the handset to boot, this is to be expected.
To confirm that you have upgraded the phone software, click on ‘Settings > About phone’, which will reveal your new Android version and firmware build number.
If you would also like to confirm the region firmware that you have downloaded, you will need to access the service menu option. To do this, open the dialler and enter the following: *#*#7378423#*#*
Then click ‘Service info > Software info’. The CDF is an eight digit number under the “Customization Version” that should tie in with the firmware you downloaded from XperiFirm. For example, you will notice below that the CDF (software customisation version) of 1298-7362 matches the same firmware that we downloaded in the XperiFirm screenshots above.
Thx to all the helpers !

-If you have problems with the device drivers installed , you will need to install lg bridge, you can download it from here:
http://tool.lime.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=PWZO7A26B9UW
How to flash Twrp:
BOOT INTO FASTBOOT MODE:
With your phone off, connect your usb cable to your phone while holding VOLUME DOWN to boot into fastboot mode or just type [adb reboot bootloader] in the adb terminal
ONCE YOU ARE IN FASTBOOT MODE:
Open a command prompt and type "fastboot flash recovery <path_to_recovery.img>” without the quotation marks.
Example: fastboot flash recovery C:/Users/John/Desktop/recovery.img
[don't forget to extract the downloaded recovery zip to get the recovery.img]
WHEN THE FLASH COMPLETES: (Takes about 2 seconds)
On your phone, unplug the usb cable and power it off by taking out the battery and putting it back in.
BOOT INTO RECOVERY MODE FOR THE FIRST TIME
HOLD VOLUME DOWN + POWER until you see the LG logo and then temporarily release the POWER button, immediately pressing and holding it back down until you see the white prompt [factory reset] screen. You will NEVER release the volume down button in this process!
Use the hard keys to select "YES" and then "YES" again to boot into TWRP
Notice: After the TWRP splash screen you will see the option to type in the password to decrypt the filesystem just ignore it and press the cancel button.

How to Disable encryption and flash super su [Root Your Device]:
1. In TWRP, go to Wipe > Format Data. Enter the keyword ‘yes‘, in the provided space and enter. This will wipe the automatically encrypted filesystem, and decrypt it.
2. Once the wiping is done, reboot back into recovery. Go to Reboot > Recovery.
3. When the recovery boots again, connect your phone to the PC and Enable MTP under the Mount section.
4. Transfer the downloaded ‘no-verity-opt-encrypt-**.zip’ and ‘SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip to your internal storage or EXTSD
5. Disconnect the device now.
6. Tap on Install. Now, navigate your phone’s storage and select ‘no-verity-opt-encrypt-**.zip’. Finally swipe the ‘Swipe to confirm Flash’ button on the bottom of the screen.
7. The flashing process will merely take a few seconds. And when it’s done, follow the same method to flash the root package – SR1-SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip [/B]
Wait 1 or 2 minutes after the zip files are done flashing then reboot system and PROFIT! Your phone may take 3-5 minutes to boot the first time and it might boot-loop once or twice at the Metro PCS splash screen but don’t worry this is expected.

You better have a backup before tying any mod as there is no available stock firmware for download it will be very difficult to fix a brick without a backup
