Basically my nexus 5 switches itself off at random battery percentages and then when u switch it back on it will be dead or on a low percentage, this doesn't always happen but you can imagine how frustrating it must be.
Just wondering if anyone has had an issue with this and if I just need a replacement battery.

So I bought my phone just after the first day of release. While battery life isn't bad its still pretty questionable. But for now my main issue is the battery level. When charging my phone, the battery level never reaches 100%, it usually sticks around 97%. When I go to check in settings, the battery reads fully charged but the percentage says differently. I just wanted to know if this is an issue that anyone else and if a battery calibration will help fix this.
This had been addressed many times if you charge a battery to 100%.... they explode after a while. 97 is normal and good don't think to much about it your phone is fully charged

It's a samsung/gingerbread feature , to prevent causing any damage to the batteries
Ok cool. While on topic of batteries, what kind d of usage are you guys getting out of yours? I've noticed that I need to turn off internet throughout the day without getting too low when away from a charger. I know around school I have bad signal and there's not much I can do for that, buried there any other advice?

I have just received my nexus 5 yesterday. In my excitement, i have been playing with it non-stop until it ran out of battery and shut down.
I have read somewhere that we should try to charge the battery as soon as you can and should try not to fully discharge the battery to zero.
Have my actions alrdy caused damage to my nexus 5 battery?
Lastly, while charging it for the first time, i accidentally offed the switch and disrupted the charging, will this have any effects on the battery life as well?
I am sorry if these sounds ridiculous, this is my first smartphone and i will rly want to know all about it.

I have found in the last couple days my nexus 5's battery % to go UP when idling off the charger. I have no idea why this happens, anyone else seeing this? Look at the last part of my battery graph and note that it was not charging at any point. It's only 1-2% usually, but it always catches me off guard

Yes it happens to everyone, at least it happens in every N5 battery screen I've seen. It seems it's recalibrated by the graphic, most probably just a software problem and not a hardware one.
My GS3 and GS4 were the same.
my LG P999 suddenly shuts off at 15%. I wanted to ask all of you is this normal? if not how can I solve it or can I just swap a new aftermarket battery?? I'd really appreciate it if anyone could get back to me asap. Thank you!
Mine most definitely does not do that. However it could be that your stat_sys_battery XML is only coded for showing 15 percent increments on battery life. So the phone is really at zero when it dies buy your better meter is showing 15. You would have to go into settings-->battery to determine the actual percentage of your battery health if you battery icons does not show 1% increments

and lately I have a problem with my Nexus 5 Battery.
every time I charge my nexus 5 to Full and keep it without using it drops to 90% or 85% without any using.
and lately i charged the phone and then i shutdown my phone and in the morning i powered on my phone and I found my battery 79%
and don't know why.
but I think my battery life has gone. and I'm sure that there is no app using my battery.

Sounds to me like it is time to change the battery. My battery was about 2 years old and also dropped quickly when just navigating the phone settings.
Swapped it for a 1 year old battery from another phone and now it is fine.

Replacing the battery would be the cheapest solution unless you have some other way to testing the phone to see if it really is the battery that is defective.
