How do I pull a recovery backup with tethered TWRP 3? - General Questions and Answers

Hi
On a device is a stock recovery, I can get into tethered TWRP 3.
How do I pull a backup of the stock recovery with TWRP and how do I backup it?
Bootloader is locked, I have to unlock it to install TWRP as recovery.
Is the recovery updateable to another stock recovery with locked bootloader?

Flash the recovery from android?

Hi there!
I have a ZTE Warp Sync which has root access via KingRoot.
There's no way (As far as I can find from Google) to unlock the bootloader.
Seeing as you can flash the system image from the recovery, would it be possible to do the opposite and flash the recovery image from the system?
I found an app called Flashify, and I believe I also saw one called Rasher.
I can get a backup of the recovery image from flashify, which I can then upload to the CWM recovery builder builder.clockworkmod com to get a CWM image for the phone, correct?
My question then is, can I provide the CWM image to flashify to flash the recovery without a. Having an unlocked bootloader, and b. having a custom recovery?
Thanks for any help!

You mean the command line inside of twrp? If you installed twrp you don't have the stock recovery no more, so you can't do that.

Even if you could boot stock recovery from TWRP, you still wouldn't be able to apply the OTA because in general you can't apply stock OTA updates on a rooted device that has custom recovery.
To apply stock updates you need stock recovery and an unmodified system partition. This means you can't have root, can't have TWRP and can't have other custom mods that modify system such as Xposed. Basically, your device needs to be back on full umodified stock and then you can apply updates.

Thanks for reply...What if I restore my system image and boot partition backup in twrp , download update , reboot back in twrp .... Hotboot/ boot in to stock recovery ... Then? Update is going to replace twrp .. that's where the boat sinks i guess ,..?

No, you can't have TWRP flashed on the device when you apply the update, even if were possible to boot stock recovery from TWRP because even though you'd be "booting" stock recovery, TWRP is still what would actually be on the device.
An option would be to get a copy of your stock recovery in .img format or in .zip format and then unroot your device and uninstall SuperSU then boot to TWRP then flash the stock recovery like you would a ROM, then go back to homescreen in TWRP then tap reboot, reboot recovery, this will boot into stock recovery, then apply the update in stock recovery, after you update you'll have to reflash TWRP provided that the update doesn't lock your bootloader. If it does you'll have to unlock it before flashing TWRP again.

can't change to magisk instead of superSU on samsung j111f

I have a samsung j111f rooted with a twrp recovery via flashing superSU zip but when i wanted to change to magisk i couldn't uninstall superSU via full unroot , I managed to do that many times before and rooted it again via twrp, but the problem now is that when i try to do a full unroot it asks me to revert to stock boot image i hit yes then it asks to revert to stock recovery so i hit no because i need it to flash magisk so it fails to full unroot, but when i hit no at recovering boot image it bypass but magisk dont want to flash because i have a modified boot partition; So please would you help me ?
PS : I have an unlocked bootloader witch i got since my first rooting following this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/root-samsung-galaxy-j1-ace-sm-j111m-f-t3395520
Also i have installed twrp recovery via odin on that unlocked bootloader because it always boot to stock recovery when i try to flash it on stock firmware
Never mind i found the sollution just full unroot without fixing bootloader from supperSU ,booted into twrp recovery flashed stock boot.img then magisk.zip and rebooted that's it got evrything worked

How to flash custom recovery with BoardDiag?

Hello.
My nexus 5 is stuck on a bootloop. It has bootloader locked, usb debug not activated and no custom recovery. I am trying to extract /system because I have very important data, photos, etc.
I tried to wipe cache, I tried to adb sideload a rescue ota with standard android recovery but nothing, phone is still in bootloop. I also tried to flash/boot custom recovery with fastboot but I can't because locked bootloader.
How can I flash custom recovery with BoardDiag? From what I read around the web this should be the only way I have at this point. If I can install cwm or twrp then I will be able to use adb pull. If you have other methods to extract my data please let me know.
Thanks

Will flashing twrp recovery delete my data

I'm planing to boot android 9 to my lebovo tab m7.
If i flash twrp recovery will it dlete my data
Flashing TWRP requires tablet's bootloader got unlocked before.
Unlocking the bootloader wipes all user-data.
