Bricked Mate - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I flashed several ROMS and devices but this time, I think my MATE got me.
Mate MODEL : MT7-L09
Bootloader : unlocked
Previous ROM : Unofficial CM11
Fastboot & rescue mode (Vol- and power) : working
Recovery (Vol+ and Power) : not working
Rescue mode (Vol+ and - and power) : not working
Symptoms : Bootloop
I tried to reinstall stock to get EMUI 4 but following CM11 thread, the B127 ROM crashed everytime at 50%
So I fastboot flashed MM recovery from official ROM by extracting it and place update.app on SD : installed 5% then crashed
Here I ran into trouble while MATE7 booted with error rescue mode.
Tried the to flash separated extracted img but never restarted correctly.
Finally tried the auto unbrick rom that flashes all img of an old official release for restoration but still ... doesn't work.
It seems that any recovery I flash now doesn't work since none of them boot me into recovery but just restart phone.
Any help to revive my phone kindly appreciated.
Thx in advance.

Thx for the reply. I finally managed to get recovery working. All my first attempts to flash recoveries (stock / cwm / twrp) failed. I never managed to boot into one of them. Also tried as I said the unbrick Rom (auto successive flash of recovery / boot / cust / system / userdata and cache images) ... still no success !
Finally with the same principe, made my own unbrick package using latest MM build and extracting the required images. My Mate finally successfully booted under recovery. I just need to wait for the phone to power charge and proceed to restore mode (vol + and - and power) with the corresponding update.app on sd ... fingers crossed !

Bricked MT7-L09 after wrong installing of B513

Hello friends,
I have a Huawei Ascend Mate 7 (european version) with unlocked bootloader and no root.
Yesterday I tried to update my mate 7 (MT7-L09) from the B331 (Android 5.1.1) to beta B513 (Android 6.0).
Here I made the mistake that I donot flashed the update.zip rather i unpacked the update.zip and only flashed update.app. Since this mistake I have a bootloop. I cannot boot into the force upgrade mode and also not in the recovery. I only can access the fastboot & rescue mode. Over fastboot I tried to flash different versions of boot.img, recovery.img, system.img and cust.img, but it always ended in a bootloop. I tried also to flash the TWRP recovery and then i could restore a internet backup of the B513. But i cannot boot into recovery. All without success.
Now I'm really desperate.
Please help me!
Thank you.
Ayuda porfavor.
Tengo el mismo problema.

when you restore backup b513 after restore do you do it wipe data cache and dalvic cache i wipe/advance wipe???
Hi,
I had the same problem. You have to flash via fastboot a twrp recovery 2.8.7.0_6.img, after that enter recovery by pressing vol+, vol - and power button, releasing the power button when the phone powers on. After that, load a twrp recovery of a marshmallow version (510, 511, 520) and restore it from the TWRP recovery.
That should do it!

Hi Poof ,if you really had this problem then you need share it with us ,please can you make it more easier to understand?Where from did you get that image and how or what's the version of that tool? Here around 10 threads with this problem which has no solution.
We're waiting for your reply.
fileshare.ro/en/e3172045659 - this is the recovery you need to flash from fastboot
Enter Fastboot on your phone. In Windows open cmd and go to the folder where you have the twrp recovery stored. In cmd you need to flash the recovery using this command: fastboot flash recovery TWRP_2.8.7.0_6.img
That's it.
Next step is to open recovery on your phone (vol+, vol- and power button) and upload a marshmallow 511 or 510 recovery.
will this work if my bootloader is locked? I can't get an unlock code from Huawei because I can't get my product id because my phone is stuck in bootloop. thanks for any help. I just don't know what to do. I did the same as many, tried to update to marshmallow on my L09 and now it's stuck in bootloop.
Use huawei Id generator from this topic to take your ID from your imei

i had the some thing in my mate 7 tl10 and here is the solution ... first download official marshmallow 6 b514 mt7 l09 or any version you like and then extract it to sd card in folder named dload .. put your sd card into your phone and pres vol+ _ vol- and power .. all at the same time and you will be directly in update mode and it's done
Try this method http://www.ministryofsolutions.com/...10-bootloop-after-marshmallow-update.html?m=1

Or download B522 and flash it

I'm in the same situation as you. I received the OTA update notification, flashed the stock recovery so as to install the update the "right" way, however when updating through the Updater app it fails whilst using the Update.zip file that was downloaded OTA. When I extracted it and ran the update.app I ended up in the bootloop. I'm already re-downloading TWRP and the 6.0 ROM for my device (B512 according to the Update app), but I just have one question: How did you access fastboot?
I can't seem to get to it. I either reboot the device by just holding down the power button (which results in the screen with the Huawei logo and 'powered by Android'), end up in the bootloop (just the animated Huawei logo on screen) by holding power + volume down, or some other EMUI menu by holding power + volume up (options are reboot system, wipe data or wipe cache). Is this last one the fastboot menu? I honestly can't remember, as I flashed TWRP pretty much the day I got this phone.
If you want go to fast boot power off fine and hold power + volume - and plug USB to phone but remember you must plugged to PC

Unbrick honor 6

Hi guys,

3 - flash by fastboot system.img
after that i reboot the phone but it stay on Honor logo.
I tryed with 3 buttons method but the istallation start until 90% and then stop on 90%...
I tryed tho flash by fastboot also CUST, BOOT, USERDATA and CACHE (extracted by stock B535 ROM) but after 3 btn method the instalation stop again at 90%...

Mate 7 Gold Stuck at rescue mode after flashing a wrong update

Good Day every one
I really need your urgent help
I have a chinese Mate7 Gold dual SIM that I upgraded it till I reached MT7-TL10C00B357 using OTA
I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone and installed TWRP 2.7.8.0 for lolipop
then I tried to install a middle east update.app by extract the file and make flashable Zip using huawei extractor
after this trial the Phone went to rescue Mode with no access to TWRP Recovery
I have tried the following with No Use
1-Install huawei suite 4 and trying system recovry ...it install the recovery and when installing the system it fails and after that the phone goes back to rescue mode with no access to rcovery
2- I extracted the Cust, Recovery, System, Boot and userdata from the Stock Rom MT7-TL10C00B357 and I flashed them using fast boot flash after putting the phone in fastboot rscue mode... the flash was OK but after the five files were flashed and trying to reboot, the phone goes back to rescue mode
3- trying the same as step 2 and trying to flash the update.app using three buttons flash... the phone stuck at Huawei Ascened Logo and nothing happens
4- trying another Update.app of Android 4.4 and extracting cust, recovery, boot, system and userdata and flash them using fast boot.. flash is ok but rescue mode is still presist
5- I have tried several times to flash TWRP again .. the flash is ok but no access to TWRP only Rescue mode or fastboot rescue mode
6- I tried to change to oeminfo and custom.bin to be eu using Huawei SRK tool 1.8 but I failed
when trying to adb devices the result is empty
I heared from one psot that this might be a problem in the sensor although I dont see a direct relation
so any one could figure out a solution to this problem
I guess I have all the tools necessary but cant find a working solution
Please help me urgently

I had tried all the methods in the globe to flash the 4 files cust,recovery,system..etc and nothing happened
till I got this program from another thread the program called DC Pheonix
the advantage of this program is that you can flash all the image files of any update.app while if you try to flash for example sensorhub.img using fastboot , you will get a message that command not allowed
so install the program and buy a 15 Euoro credit and flash the original last ROM that was on the phone
I could not wait till the morning I downloaded Phoenix DC and bought 15 credits = 15 Euoros and flashed the original update.app which was the chinese version MT7-TL10C00B357
The phone is working well nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Yupeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I am so Happy
Happened to me before, sounds wierd but actually , I thought it's a hard problrm to solve and that actually made me solve it after working for 8 hours and the solution simply was reboot in fastboot and rescue mode will be Rescue&fastboot mode , then flash

Hi, thanks for the solution! Can I backup all of my data (system, app data) before unlocking bootloader? I can't root actually.

You can backup your apps by using any of the apps available from play store, however without root these probably won't backup the apps data.
No need to backup system as this won't be affected by unlocking bootloader. The recovery partition will of course be overwritten when you flash TWRP.
Remember unlocking bootloader does factory reset the phone.

How exactly are you flashing your modified recovery?
Remember after flashing it you MUST immediately boot into recovery (Vol up + Power) or else the system will replace it with the stock recovery.

Don't know why its not working but here is a link to two genuine stock ROMS for the y5II.
http://consumer.huawei.com/lk/mobile-phones/support/downloads/huawei-y5ii_lk.htm
If you dont want to try flashing the whole rom then download "HuaweiUpdateExtractor" tool and extract just
the recovery partition from either of the roms and flash just that recovery.
Let me know how you get on.......
i have flashed stock recovery and it worked it means i could go to recovery but when i want to flash again twrp or cwm it isnt working
after flashing twrp/cwm the huawei logo shows for 1 second and again rebooting to normal mode
cant flash whole rom because of "error: current version is not in VERLIS, unallow to update."

OK, you are not giving me much information as to EXACTLY what you are doing, like what commands you are using and the responses you are getting and so are making it very difficult for me to help you.
Do you have a working recovery or not ?
BTW you cannot flash the Update.app from recovery, I suggest you do some research on how to use Dload.
I have attached a small PDF to get you going.
Huawei Update extractor tool is very handy though.
custom recoveries from this topic dont work for me
my stock recovery (cun-l21) dont work(cant get it anywhere)
flashed recovery from cun-l22 works but from cun-l29 its not working
now i only have cun-l22 recovery working on my phone
trying to flash stock rom (CUN-U29, C567B128, Sri Lanka) using cun-l22 recovery it shows: "verify: uboot partition unallowed chang, old_address=1c80000, new_address=712000 error: partition verify is failed Update /sdcard/dload/update.app failed"
trying to flash stock rom (CUN-L22, C567B128, Sri Lanka) using cun-l22 recovery and it shows: "main version from property is cun-l21c79b104-1 the cur_num:1 update_num:1 version check failed error: current version is not in verlis, unallow to update Update /sdcard/dload/update.app failed"
i was trying to flash using recovery/vol up +vol down+power/in system option using update
Can I use this recovery on cun u-29
Same problem here as t214. I have the CUN-L21. Flashed twrp , didn't work , flashed back the L22 stock recovery , that doesn't work for me also so now i don't have any recovery. Does anybody have a solution for this ?
---
L.E. : managed to make the stock CUN-L22 recovery work , but still cannot flash TWRP or CWM , both cause 1-2 reboots and then normal booting , then i have to revert to stock again.
Can confirm this DOES NOT WORK on the CUN-L21. After flashing, Trying to boot into custom recovery takes you to a black screen for 1 second then continues to 'normal boot'. Now I have no recovery at all. What do I do?

Hello. Do what sparkrite said on the first page. Download the full rom from that Huawei website (the cun-l22 one , but it works). Download huawei update extractor and load in it the update.app. inside you will see recovery.img. Right click and extract. Flash that. Worked for me , i have stock l22 recovery , i don't know if it will be a problem on the long run but i can't find it for l21 anywhere.

Honor 6 L12 rooted, TWRP Installed, shows unlocked bootloader

Hello everyone,
I've honor 6 L12 rooted, unlocked bootloader as I can see in fast boot and multi tool, I've installed TWRP recovery.
I just made a backup through TWRP saved in internal SD storage, and try to install but since that try, I hade problem like model changed to L01 and my version is ending with B000
Also the shape and look (of firmware and theme), have been changed.
I don't know what happened and why!
I tried to to restore custom rom and recovery but couldn't.
Now I can't use recovery mod because it's giving me this: Error!
Function No : (Func_Boot_RECOVERY)
Error No : 2
I've tried to use multi tool giving me error with any writing to device:
Faild remote command not allowed
Note: I'm still able to access normal mod, but it's hard, I've to try ton of times pressing buttons to boot to normal mod.
Please any help dears.
Update:
Now my device is not booting to nermal mode anymore.
I kept flashing through unbrick tool in multitools.
But I don't know exactly which firmware and model to flush!
And now I'm stuck on recovery mode (also with same error above) and fastboot mode when I restart and connect device to pc keep pressing volume down.
Any single help!

Which firmware you were on before issue?
No I didn't
As I said trying to restore my backup through TWRP but was in internal SD., that's it.
My real model is L12.
Version, I don't remember but it was on android 5.1.1 EMUI 3.1
Now I just used Sd method and recover device with last 4.0.1 EMUI for devolvers, but no Arabic language.
How to go to another firmware?
What is the best, satable one for my device?
And is there a good custom stable rom, especially if android 7 ?
Please full answer if available
Thanks again
