ParallaPaper is a LiveWallpaper with a 3D-parallax-effect and a builder or sandbox for such type wallpapers.
ParallaPaper is not only a parallax-type effect LiveWallpaper, it is more of a builder, a sandbox if you want, to create moving wallpapers.
You can disable the scrolling when switching home-screen-pages, or set the strength to whatever you might like.
Same goes for the parallax effect.
You can also set different images for portrait and landscape!
So even if you don't like the parallax effect at all, but want different wallpapers for portrait and landscape orientation you can use ParallaPaper!
There are some prebuilt wallpapers available and there might be more in the future.
Now, there is a paid version however
The paid version can display and edit up to unlimited layers (device memory restrictions may apply! In my experience its about 6-7 big layers)
With the paid version you can also import / export your creations
But ParallaPaper is focused around creating your own wallpapers and effects!
It's said that pictures say more than a thousand words so here we go
Also a short video I made quickly
Tell me what you think!
No really, tell me what you think!

Awesome app
I've been playing around with it a bit, and recently realised what it's true potential is, and hacked together a small background for it (with some images taken from other wallpapers).

Nice
This looks really cool! I'm Trying this ASAP.
So, made some more wallpapers (cause i was bored)
I thought some ppl might be interrested:
Pokemon (Charmander):

Portal 2 (The space core in the end ):
- Image: i.imgur.com/9PJdEig.png
- File: drive.google.com/open?id=0B7LkC2YAOkyEQ1RMczA4VTVueWM
These are a bit more simple, but i like them
Btw, i figured out, that you can send the exported files per WhatsApp, if you save them with the file extension ".txt"
Background of the app is transparent for me on Android 7.0. However, setting the wallpaper works fine. Here's a log.

I know about that... I'll fix it with an update as soon as my current main project (flatnote) is out of early access.
I have some pretty neat ideas for a "V2", which should also fix some pretty serious issues regarding memory consumption.
Until then it'll probably stay like that for a while

A power drain of -6mA to -10mA is very small considering the normal drain is somewhere in the line of -4mA to -6mA for my phone/configuration.

I took part into this project alongside with Xaffron, the developer of the fully featured clock app for Android, One More Clock and many other goodies for Android.
This is the free version. The limitation to the free version is that the special modes ( Lightning Strikes and Electric Sparks ) last for a limited time after each time you apply them. You can always re-enable them again, no limit there. For supporting the developers of this live wallpaper and removing this limitation, consider a small donation of $0.99.
awesome!!! dowloading now!!!
Awesome work - we've posted about this here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...nt-to-clock-widgets-theme-and-boot-animation/. Hope that gets this LWP some attention. :-]
Good job! But i see the pixsels.. Low quality?
thx for this great wallpaper
@baliriot Thank you .
@Archon810 We are very grateful for this! Thanks a lot.
@kuci06 I am filming it now. Great idea Thanks. Done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9D7HDA2JnjU
@He3aBuCuM What phone are you using?
@schranzerr Thank you, kindly.
How does it look on Xoom?
Buy me one, and I can show you.
Kidding.
I have no idea, but someone might do us a favor by posting a screenshot from a tablet running this thing.
Installed wallpaper and paid for the full clock download.
One issue,it wont let me upgrade to the full wallpaper via the settings ?
Sweet!
Getting error when I try to get the full version though.
Homescreen lags on Desire..transitions trough homescreens very slow...and yes i have enough memory
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks everyone for the responses!
The cool thing for me is that this live wallpaper works fast even on my lowly MyTouch3G... it should even work fast on the G1.
Escort82, Are you using a custom ROM? Also, are you using setCPU?
as usual lags the home screen for launcherpro but what else is new there.
honestly the quality is kinda lacking. it's incredibly pixelated and i normally have the honeycomb wallpaper on my N1 and though the gradients get banded, it's not anywhere near as bad as this.
great concept and i'd love to run it, but it really needs some work on the quality of the graphics.
@Marct77 & @MartinW81 The Donate version is now published. Please try again. Thank you for your support!
@neok44 The issue with the quality is because we initially wanted something under one mb. I had to compress the pictures as much as possible.
As we speak, I am preparing an HD version which will be available within moments and which, I am sure, will meet your expectations.
Thank you.

HD-version will be great.
Tip for further development:
An ability to choose color on the background as well, black, grey, green etc.
Question is, will a HD-version be harder on the lag? I'm getting some lag on homepage scrolling, but not more than other LWP's. (N1 on CM7 and ADW EX)
Hi MartinW81,
I'll let nemuro address the other points, but an HD-version should not be harder on the lag. I'm suspecting that I'm being too aggressive on the framerate, which is causing slowdowns (this LWP is pushing 60fps). I'm investigating and future versions should be more homescreen-friendly.
Hi MartinW81,
Your idea would be a great feature, however it would greatly gain distance from the original Honeycomb look we had in mind when we developed this.
Take this LWP as a celebration of the newest Android in the making.
Thank you for your thoughts.

Why are you not saving the thumbnails in your apps cache folder?
While the user probably wants to keep downloaded wallpapers after uninstalling your app, there is no desire to keep the thumbnails around. If you move them into the cache folder the system will also be able to clear them to recuperate from low storage situations.
In an effort to keep the sdcard root tidy, you could also consider to move wallpapers in the picture folder, i.e.
Code:
Environment.getExternalStoragePublicDirectory(Environment.DIRECTORY_PICTURES)

Thumbnails loaded are of inferior quality compared to the original wallpapers with respect to resolution. And, user cannot set them as wallpaper because it will result in a pixelated & grainy experience.
@Chirag_Galani, read my post again, that was not what i wrote.
Pro is working very nicely on my Nexus 6, thank you.

He meant that you can use cache for storing thumbnails so they can be removed later by the system if your app is uninstalled by the user.

We can't store the thumbnail images in the cache as the API ( which we use to fetch the images) doesn't permit. But, we have some special mechanism such that it will auto-delete cache when it exceeds 'n' size. And, for the next update we have move the Downloads folder insides the Pictures Folder.
Thank you for your feedback/suggestion.
Also, further chats could be done on PM or Hangouts.
A user of mine reported the folder to be cleaned up by SD Maid, while I usually just add stuff like this, i saw you are on XDA too and thought maybe you want to improve this yourself.
I'm not concerned about the size, but if your app is uninstalled the folder with thumbnails stays behind (i.e. corpse).
What library is that and why does it not permit a different path?
Some of you may know me as a ROM/Kernel dev or simply as a Forum Moderator, but the time has finally come to explore a new direction in our beloved Android world: App development
Those of you who know me already know that I never planned on working with java, simply because I always hated it This, however, has slightly changed in the past couple of weeks. I still don't like it and would chose C over java in a heartbeat, but I started to accept java
But now, enough of me talking crap you all don't care about. Time to present to you my newest creation: CutCalc.
As the name already suggests, it's a calculator for cutting data. (no, not data for cutting your meat, for drilling, milling and turning )
I am working as a mechatronics engineer and have to calculate a lot of cutting data for milling, turning and drilling, which is why I needed a fast way to do so. But to my surprise, I wasn't able to find anything useful on Google Play. So I created my own app with the goal of keeping it as simple as possible. I do have to apologize for the graphical design though, I was never good at that
But now, you may ask yourself "So what is this app capable of?"
It can calculate the needed RPM as well as the feed rate for Milling, Turning and Drilling
With just one click you can double the result for when you are working with PVC or similar materials
You can set your own default values for all variables (such as cutting speed, feed per blade,...)

Great to hear that!
I do have a question, though
Due to the fact that you are a RT and I suck at graphics, would you mind giving me a helping hand regarding the dark theme I am planning to implement? I need some pics to be modified but I suck with photoshop
EDIT: BTW, v1.2.2 pushed to GPlay with fixes regarding some Actionbars as well as FC fixes caused by empty textfields.
Nice app , for us mechanchiz !!

Very nice wallpapers and idea of design but I'd like to see a feature where I can edit the text to my name. Like from 'Think Twice' to my name instead. That said, very nice app. Thanks.

Currently app uses the alarm app in your device to make alarm. Move the slider to the right time and click the button on the action bar to make a alarm.

Get it in the first post.

Love it and bought it.
Could you add an option to scroll in 5 or 15min increments?
What an app! Stunning visuals, works fantastic overall, a neat replacement for the official Google clock app with a bit more work to it!

Turns out I'm in this specific situation (but in GMT+8 instead ), so having an app that helps handling time differences is always much appreciated, specially when DST kicks in/out. Anyhow, highly probable I'll be buying the PRO version soon.

Thanks!
why is this app not working without location activated? I can ofc understand why it's useful, but is it really needed for the app to work? when I turn location off its like my phone runs at 5 fps (but only with globe app open on screen), and working great with location turned off. would give u a video of it but XDA won't take my .mp4 file. will try provide it later when I'm coming home if needed.
