gear s2 stay connected with cars Bluetooth? - Samsung Gear S2

Does anyone have any experience with this? Basically when you get in your car and the car connects to your phone for phone calls and media, does the gear s2 stay connected? Also, how does calls work? Obviously you want the call to go through the car, but does it do it because the s2 has a speaker. I know the huawei watch has this issue. Can anyone comment on this?

Everything works like it should. You'll get notifications and calls, etc. on your phone, watch, and car stereo. I use it every day without issue.

Will the car take the phone call over the watch? Also the issue with the huawei was that since the watch connected to the phone as "media" it wouldn't connect to the car for phone calls and media streaming.

Your phone should connect to multiple Bluetooth devices. And like I said, yes, it does work fine. Calls and texts and whatever will buzz all devices connected to the phone. You can choose which to answer on.

Ok thanks. So with both the watch and car connected to the phone, the car takes priority in pushing phone calls through the car and not the watches speaker, and able to stream music from your phone to the car and not the watches speaker? All while still receiving notifications on the watch? Sorry, just issues I had with the huawei watch.

You got it. I use mine daily with my pioneer hu. When all three are paired, the radio takes call priority. While streaming music through the radio, the radio will switch to phone call with caller ID, the watch will notify and the phone all seamlessly together. Answering the call comes through the radio unless I hit private on the display then it switches to phone. When I get a text, my radio displays "new message received" and the watch actually shows the message like it was the only thing paired.

w: app to make handset act as bluetooth headset

Does an app exist that will allow me to use my Android handset as a bluetooth headset for another phone? Use case: my hated work Blackberry in my pocket rings, and I'd like my Desire to mute what I'm listening to, alert me that the other phone is ringing and let me use the Desire to pick up the call.
Get a google voice and both phones will ring. You can seperate contacts to recive different voicemails just in case you don't answer in time that way nobody knows the difference. All your work emails will still goto the blackberry. The only difference is you can answer from both phones.
Actually I have a similar request. I have a motorbike and a navigation set on it. To this navigation set I can connect a bluetooth headset.
What I would like is using my HTC Desire as a bluetooth headset, since that is already in my pocket. Then I could just put the phone in my pocket, earpieces in and connect to the navigation system without the need of an additional bluetooth headset.
Any ideas? Is it even possible technically or does the phone need to have some special bluetooth profile for this to work?
+1 for an app like that. Would be awesome to connect my android device to my stereo and use my mac to stream audio to it!
I am very interested in this too as I would like to connect my phone to my pc and make phone act like a bluetooth headset so I can sit back and watch movies at night .

Is there a way to auto swtich bluetooth?

I have my phone setup with my car and quality is great, but i can't figure out how to set the phone to auto switch to a bluetooth device for all calls once it's connected. Is there a way to do this?
My calls go to my bluetooth headset when the headset is already connected. My issue is that the phone doesn't automatically connect to the headset upon power on/boot up. This is the first phone I've had that does this and I don't like it.

It should be automatic, I think (or at least, in the BT devices settings). If not, try Tasker,

I don't get it. My phone auto connects for me. Did it with the tunelink in my car today and the past few weeks, did it for 4 days with my friends ford car with sync and does it at work with many different devices when I get near them.

I'm not sure I 100% get what you want. Are you saying you get the BT connection in your car but it won't send the calls to it? Your phone rings instead?
I can tell when my phone locks into my car's BT because the screen in my car indicates it. All calls then get redirected to the car's system.
My phone automatically connects when I start my car. Calls that I pickup with my steering will buttons route through to bluetooth. All that is fine. My problem is making outgoing calls. I have a feedback dial that is a pain to dial from. I like using the 1 touch calling on my phone much more - except when I dial through the phone, it never pushes to bluetooth. After connecting, I can switch to bluetooth, but I have to manually use the touchscreen to get it going. Is there any way that it can auto connect using bluetooth when I dial from my phone?
Weird, my phone automatically uses bluetooth even when I dial my from my phone. This is true for both my car's bluetooth and my bluetooth headphones. Maybe it's a setting in your car?

Did you check through the phone settings? I think there are some bluetooth settings in there.

Phone Audio

Hi Guys,
I want to turn off phone audio on my watch so that it and my Sena Bluetooth don't argue with each other - pairing "through" the watch doesn't resolve it either. Problem is, if I turn off Phone Audio in Bluetooth settings on my S5, it disconnects the watch entirely. Any way to turn off phone audio and still keep notifications and apps connection?
Thanks!
Have you tried the notification settings in gear manager. Or gear turning them off. Limiting . Relaying etc
I don't have any conflict with my Gear 2 and Plantronics Voyager Pro. Whichever one I initiate or answer a call with doesn't affect the other. Did you happen to pair your headset with your watch? If so, that might be the problem. Mine are only paired to my phone.
Thanks guys!
I stumbled across the answer. It turns out that I had to remove the pairing with my Sena and then repair (after the watch). The Sena appears to now have full phone audio.

bluetooth question

Hello,
I am having an issue with BT connection- I do not want take calls via BT on the watch but I still want to receive notifications (via BT). I connect to BT normally, and I go to settings, BT, and unselect "call audio" because I have a headset I use, but the watch disconnects completely from BT and the watch is now in standalone mode and does not receive notifications. So, how can I be connected to BT but NOT take calls on the watch? Any ideas?
I have my watch and my plantronics bluetooth paired to my S7 and what I do is when I get a call is see who calls me on the watch then I answer it with the my bluetooth. Only thing that kind of suck is when I have call waiting and it doesn't show on the watch.
Does it ever show call waiting if you're connected via bluetooth?
It doesn't show on the watch but you will hear a beep tone on the Bluetooth headset. Well at least on my Bluetooth it does.
CAn you connect the watch over wifi to the phone? Tot est, turn off bluetooth on the watch and see if it will connect via wifi - this might solve the issue

Answer phone on watch, audio to headset?

As a new S3 classic owner, after coming from a Moto 360, I have a ton of questions. Probably the most important one is this:
I'm used to using the watch to say "call {john smith}", and have the phone place the call. BUT, is there a way to NOT route the call audio through the watch speaker? I wear hearing aids that are also bluetooth headsets and that's where I'd like to route the audio unless I'm driving, in that case use the car. I have a S7 edge and while there are settings for my headset and car for call and media audio, there is not for the gear s3. Is there an setting somewhere to allow me to place calls with the watch and have the call audio routed to my headset (or car)?
Or is the answer to return it and get an android wear watch? I'm still within the 14 day window at best buy. I like the hardware features of this watch, but Tizen is making me a little crazy because I'm so used to the ease of android.
Thanks for any information.

Maybe Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > BT Headset?
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA Labs
The key in my OP is that there are settings for the headset and car in bluetooth connections for call and media audio, but the only choice under the gear s3 in bluetooth is to disconnect, which disconnects everything. That means I CAN"T say 'call {whoever}' and have my phone make a call.
