Internal storage - T-Mobile LG G5 Questions & Answers

I have about 8gb of internal storage unaccounted for and I'm trying to figure out what is using it. I didn't notice what it read before I rooted yesterday but this does not seem right. If we're given 23gb after the system takes up 9 from the 32, what is the roughly 8 gb you see in the screen capture? I just got this warranty exchange yesterday and immediately rooted it. I don't recall losing 8gb on the other phone. Any help?

I wiped data and reset the phone up. Now I have 15.9 gb free with the exact same setup and amount of apps. This is more like it. I can't figure out what happened before but there was almost 6gb of space unaccounted for

It's a known bug. Only way I've read to get around it is unfortunately a full factory reset.

Happened to me as well. Woke up to find zero free space after only using up about 2 gigs total. Factory reset fixed it like previous person mentioned.

Storage issue?

Does this seem right? I know there is suppose to be 16gb of storage, but this doesn't look right. Maybe its just me

Just under 10 GB is normal. There is 16 GB of total storage, but only a part of it is user accessible storage (media etc.). 2.3 GB is internal storage (app data) and the rest is for the OS.
Alright just wanting to make sure its not a SD card issue. Thanks

[Q] Storage Issue

My Z3 has a notification about my phone has 75% of internal storage used and asks me to move some files to my sd card. However, when I checked the storage inside the setting, it showed that I only used for 4-5 GBs while the available space only has 3 GBs. It is really strange since there should be 12 GBs for this phone where is the missing 3 GBs. So, I would like to ask that what make this happen and how to solve it. My first thought of this kind of issue is the problem of system log, but I dont want to root my phone to deal with this.

What happened to my RAM??

What happened to my 4gb ram? Is this thing correct? Does everybody else show 3.5gb as well? And why can't I lasso around pictures to cut and paste anymore? And why did they make you take so many damn steps to draw on an image? Why are we going backwords in time? Life was so easy on the note2 (shakes head).

Probably the same reason you buy hard drives and flash drives and the actual space is less because they advertise at 1,000 units where the operating system uses 1,032.
Yes, but that would still make it 3.87. I'm just nitpicking here. I think I've just become hypersensitive to samsung/verizon combination BS. I miss my note 2.

System takes up 36 GB

I've been running out of storage on my rooted OnePlus 6 because of System has been using 36 GB out of 64 GB. I don't remember when it started to happen but its been a while now.
Is there any way to reduce the size of the System?

Try formatting your storage and reinstall OOS mate. It's because the System partition isn't resized properly.
