For me the display looks sharper, battery is lasting longer, and I was able to register Android pay and Samsung pay with no issues. I was also able to encrypt my phone with no issues.

for me the battery life is way worse than on the 5.1.1 and I thought that one was bad.
The double lockscreen is annoying, but I think it's a MM "feature". If you use pin or pattern, you have to swipe before entering your pin or pattern.
Battery is better by a bit

My bluetooth keeps turning itself off now.
Im getting terrible battery life. The CPU awake time is as long as the phone is on for. Something is causing the CPU to stay awake when the screen is off. Any suggestions?
My Knox?
I noticed that after I installed My Knox the battery didn't last as long. I would recommend to check some of the apps services. There a battery optimizer.

I am having all kinds of problems. Apps keep crashing, battery is draining quicker and sometimes wont charge. The charging mechanism keeps flipping on and off without a cable plugged in. When plugged in keeps doing the same thing. When I connect to my pc it acts like I am constantly plugging and unplugging and I cant even do a backup now. Current version is MMB29K.G928AUCU2BPE6 on Smasung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. PLEASE HELP!!!
Battery is draining quickly.Anyone here having the same problem.I have manually updated My phone to marshmallow.
I have updated to latest OTA using ADB sideload
Source
My battery is not bad.
I have noticed that my photos don't auto rotate when u send them over text or even posting to Facebook.
My phone screen don't shut off when holding it by your face.
At time my auto rotate won't rotate mainly when watching YouTube.
Yesterday updated to MM using sideload. Fully Charged my cell in night put it on table at 90% almost at 4am. When again check at 3pm the battery percentage was 54 :crying: really worried about battery life at MM. Before the battery discharge was only 8 to 10 percent within that much time. Else wifi/bluetooth and all is working fine. Just having battery issue.
Update: after july update it got worse charging time with adaptive fast charger increased a lot it takes 4 hourse to be full from 15%
My battery is awful the CPU is constantly awake even after factory reset.
My battery life has actually been better since updating to mm.
It's been 2 days on battery. And 7 hours of juice remaining I am falling in love with my Galaxy S6 edge+ day by day :highfive:
missing quick panel toggles
hi i just updated my Samsung Galaxy s6 edge+ using meek20's instructions. Thanks a lot dude.
After switching to Marshmallow update I noticed that the same problem occured when I first bought the device from AT&T which is some quick panel toggles are missing! They are the Data Toggle, Hot Spot toggle. I browsed through this forum to search for answers however, I was only able to found the last fix that supposedly repaired the problem. However, the fix for the old firmware 5.1.1 does not apply to the marshmallow update 6.0.1. I also tried the QuickRestore Panel from Samsung apps but to no avail.
Is there any leads as to where I can download and fix the bug? Thanks in advance

I've been experiencing battery issues lately and I struggle to find a solution for it. When I first bought my Xperia Z3, battery was wonderful and was lasting over 2 days with moderate usage. Now, I am forced to charge it every night and it often dies even before the end of the day.
Every night, I charge my phone to full before going to bed and notice in the morning that 30% of the battery get drained overnight.
Since then, I have tried many things but it didn't solve my issues:
- Did a factory reset
- Disabled every widgets
- Kept apps to a minimum
But my battery is still draining overnight (and in general).
I installed GSam battery monitor and it seems that no specific app is draining the battery.
Here a more pictures for details: img ur.com/a/eqsuq#0 (copypaste as imgur, can't post link yet as I'm a new user )
What could be the source of my issues?
I'll be so happy if you could provide me with a solution. Thanks!

what firmware are you using?
I had the same problem after flashing a pre-rooted stock 5.1.1. The only solution I could find was to do a full wipe and flash a pre-rooted 5.0.2 now things are back to normal for me.

I'm running stock 5.1.1, unrooted. Never flashed anything before.
So if I understand correctly, you flashed a 5.0.2 and then let it update itself to 5.1.1?

no I flashed a stock 5.0.2 and have stayed on that. Disabled software update so I don't get OTA updates. Everything back to normal on 5.0.2. Won't update until a stable Marshmellow comes out. For me heat and overnight battery drainage problems made 5.1.1 a nightmare. 5.0.2 is rock solid.

I see. Damn that really would be a last resort for me, seems like a lot of work just to resolve the battery issues. I hope someone can come up with a fix because surely the Z3 is working perfectly under 5.1.1 for most other users.
I have seen the battery drain pictures and i see there is a solid blue line awith the Wifi awake option. I have experienced it before.
What you need to do is perform these steps and then report back.
1. Go to Wifi settings>Advanced>Disable "Scanning always Available".
2. If you don't want to recieve notifications when screen is off then also set the "Keep wifi on during sleep" to ALWAYS
3. Enable Stamina mode and use EXTENDED STANDBY
Check if the solid blue line cuts in between when screen is on and off.

Update on the situation:
You were totally right. My phone lost less than 2% overnight after following your steps. Moreover, the battery has been great so far with moderate use, standing at 60% remaining with more than 2 hours of SOT (2 hours SOT put me at around 30% remaining before).
Thanks a lot! Strangely, the history details screen still shows Wi-Fi as a solid blue line.
Here are some screenshots: img ur.com/a/zqG0E
First part shows the stats when I woke up in the morning, second part shows stats at the end of the afternoon.
Ideally, Stamina mode wouldn't be required but I think this is a good compromise until a fix comes up.
EDIT: After a second night in Stamina mode, it appears that I lost 30% overnight again. The only significant change I can think of is the fact that I added Whatsapp as a standby app so that I can receive messages when my phone screen is off. I will try to remove the app and see how it goes tonight but if I cannot put Whatsapp as a standby app at all, then it will be terribly inconvenient to not be able to receive messages instantly without having the screen on.

Has anyone noticed their battery getting incredibly worse over time? I bought my S7 on release (non edge). And since then, I've noticed that it doesn't last no where near as long. Today, for example I started my day at 7:00am when the battery was 100%. As of 30 minutes ago, the battery reached critically low (5%). From 7am all I did was watch a few videos, facebook, snapchat and then play music. But all the above for not too long.
I've also noticed that once the phone hits the 15% battery (I know due to the notification), that within minutes the battery can be done to 10% or so, without touching it.
I'm more so tempted just to take it back, unless there's an easy fix OR it's a known issue with the current version.
Thanks!

I've definitely noticed this since rooting. Maybe it has something to do with that? Like a ROM you flashed or what not? I'd like some suggestions here as well.

I haven't rooted the S7, it was the first phone that I've left stock from opening.
What does the battery stats say is using the most mAh?
Facebook app is a known battery hog
Obviously over time, you'll install different things, and slowly the phone will start using more and more power running background apps
A backup and Factory reset will show if there is a hardware / battery issue, or if it's purely from stuff you've installed over time
Also clearing the caches from recovery could help
yeah ive noticed this too. My usage habits havent changed but my battery life is almost half of what it was when i just got the phone.

Cache has been cleared from recovery, and I don't generally install many apps so since I've bought the phone the apps have stayed the same.
Android system is always on top. Unless of course I spend hours on Facebook.
Might have to factory reset. I've used my phone with the same apps and time since I've bought it, and I'm finding I'm charging it 3x as much.
I think it's a root issue - deep sleep.
After S6 Edge Plus, when you root a samsung phone, it won't go in deep sleep. I believe there's a fix for that.
Have you checked the battery usage stats? It gives you the breakdown on what apps are eating up the battery.
I have had my S7 for about a month and battery is about the same.
Just to update this thread for those that may have a similar issue...the other day I couldn't live with the battery life the way it was. The phone used 50% in several hours where I barely used it.
Decided to completely re-flash with stock (was stock before) as opposed to simply wiping all data. A week in, and the phone's battery life is back to the way it was. I went to bed when it was on 100% (as a test) and woke up 7 hours later with the phone on 94%, with wifi, location and bluetooth on.
Not sure what had caused it to use so much battery previously, but it's back to what it should be and that's all that matters.
hi with my s7 exynos i do 3h screen. i think there is a problem. i bought my s7 one week ago. can anyone help me?
Rooting and installing custom kernels when done right should greatly increase the battery life of your device. This is a well known guide here on XDA for improving battery life for our devices.
That being said, Lithium Ion Batteries hold less charge the more cycles they are put through, its a given fact but as you said your device is relatively new and therefore should not be experiencing this kind of problem. The way I see this is there are 3 possibilities which may be causing the said problem...
1) You have rooted the device and done some modification/s. ( which you haven't done )
2) Your battery is being drained by a service ( Like Oculus or VR ) in fact a number of reddit users complained their S7 was overheating and battery was draining really fast for some reason. Check This page out, It might help you.
3) Battery Defect, you must've gotten a "bad" model, if you haven't tripped KNOX you could try bringing your phone to Samsung and see if they would fix or replace it.
Good luck
I think this has to due to them samsung updates. As far as i know samsung been always doing things like this where they made the OS slow as hell after a while so you gonna get a upgrade sooner but a battery should last 2 years minimal without degrading.

i get like 5 hours screen on time and bout 1 day standby time but i have most bloatware disabled with the package disabler. But if i was you i would contact samsung.
This happens with Samsung updates on every Galaxy phone. It's like a curse. It's unavoidable.

May i ask if the people with these problems use the fast charge? I hearing many bad things bout this so i switched it off and must say the normal charge isn't that slow and if it can keep the battery good for longer then we all should use this.
I turned fast charge off about a week after I got the phone, was making the phone and charger pretty hot for the sake of about 5-10 mins quicker charge
Pointless really, unless you are desperate, only have a few mins spare and need as much power as possible in that short time, and if that's the case, enable it for that one time
Restrict background data on all but the most important apps (phone, text, email), dave power all but the most important apps. Battery life is fine

Hi to every one,
I have mate 9 (MHA-L29C185) before was in B126 and I got OTA update to B138.
before the battery life was amazing and sometimes lastest 2 days without charging but now after said update I am charging the battery every single day with the same usage as before!
could anyone please advise WHY?
No difference here after the update, or if there is it's too small to notice. I'm still getting two full days of use.
Were your battery saving settings changed by the update?
Have you added any new apps?
I had the same experience but it's been getting better. I'm still not back to 10h SOT but I can easily reach 8-9 so all's good.
I assume that after upgrading your device needs to reindex everything again and that might explain the poor battery life right after upgrading. My advice is give it a couple of days to settle down.

Settings > Battery > Close Apps after screen lock.
Select All.
Leave it run for a day.
I updated to the new update as soon as I took it out of the package. I was losing about 3% per hour even during deep sleep. I would go to sleep at 12 and wake up at 6 and be between 80 to 85%. My LG V20 lost a total of 1 to 2% overnight. I tried resetting the phone, playing around with settings and setting applications to close after screen lock. I then found out it was the wifi killing my battery. The next night with wifi off but data on I lost 1% overnight. Now I get about 2 full days on a charge and around 8 hours SOT.
Especially that WiFi+ sucks a lot of juice! I have it off.
Gents,
Yesterday night before I sleep, the battery was 98% I closed the mobile and went to the bed.
a morning I wake up, and the battery drain from 98% to 80% while it was STBY and no activity!
I check the consumer (see attached) and found mail was from hardware & software especially Android OS!
Please anyone can help? before I update to B138 the mobile was amazing and during the night might only drop 3-4% which is normal, not 18% now :crying::crying:
Have the same experience with 138, draining 20% over the night, my iphone 7 Plus placed side by side with the Mate 9 drains 1% over night. Have done a factory reset but still the same issue. And dont tell my to close all apps when powering down the screen - it is a smartphone and not a dumbphone. Did not buy it to kill all benefits with a smartphone and big battery
looks like some apps hogging your phone so cant go to sleep and by the looks of it wifi scanning is on which keeps the wifi module on while its off consumes more batter, also have a look at the apps with push notification or apps which run in he background. At battery management check the apps which close or not after screen lock.

Whatever they say the actualization for the B138 radically changed the battery consumption ..... up to B126 was fine.
I did not realize because in the changelog it said that it optimized the consumption of the battery, it really optimized for the worse .... huawei(Idiots) go to sleep because I should have corrected the problem, but they are sprinkling for customers, I'm going to sell mine and I do not want any more xinocas.

Granted I'm not getting 10h SOT like I did back with B126 but I'm getting 8-9h now with B138 so no complaints here.
This model has been released only 2½ months ago and I've already seen 2 firmware upgrades. They're clearly active, I wouldn't sweat it.

Hi,
I am facing a lot of battery drain issue. My phone is only a month old . I have updated toemui 5 with nougat. The battery doesn't last for more than half a day. May a little more than that. I'm losing a lot of juice even when the phone is on standby.
I keep closing all apps when I get the message for power using apps. I have disabled most of the apps too from using my battery..
Someone please advice. I also feel that the charging is very slow on my device
Do you use GPS location? Data? Wifi? Do you have strange signal on your SIM?
I found these things that they consume most of the battery.
Do not close just apps but what drains the battery in standby is a lot of wifi, data and cellular..
Try to disable that settings every time you are not useing it.. evan if two sim.. disable the one not needed.. this should help..
But then again I never disable anything and still can go up to 2 days..sometimes one day and having still 40% .. are you on the latest noughat 7??

GPS is rarely on. WiFi is on all the time. Data is usually off..
The phone is a bit quirky when it comes to battery for me. Some days, the power drain is unreal and will lose 10% per hour during standby. Other days, it will sleep all night long and only lose 2-3%. Even stranger, the days when the drain is very high, the stock battery graph shows the phone with minimal awake time. And on the days when the battery is not draining, it will show constant system wake ups when the screen is off for hours. I've only had mine for a few weeks, so I'm hoping it's just reacting to all the apps and settings I keep adjusting and will settle down over time.
I think this issue came with Nougat update... Noone complained with A6..

Many, many users complained about the battery issue on noughat 7. So me to was thinking should I risk to update to N7 or just stay on MM
Couse many users tried it and than did the roll back to MM
So I tried it to and was not having any battery drain
And with the latest noughat version like the B381 I am having or depanding on model it is the B385 or the B387 it not just adds more features like better camera options and functions but it also gives the battery drain fix many already reported that the drain is now gone.. and for me it is evan better battery on B381 then it was on B360.. much better.. like 30% better
I've been using the phone for two weeks now and the battery drain has gotten pretty horrible the past week. I charge the phone up to 100% and leave it off the charger as I go to sleep from 1am - 9am.
I wake up and my phone has 70% battery left with wifi/data off. [Battery drain](https://i.imgur.com/VkAcAqd.jpg) [Google battery drain](https://i.imgur.com/qjxMkN2.jpg)

You can check which apps is draining the battery.
Just go Setting, then search for "Device Care", then hit "Battery" -> Battery Usage
All S10 phones have a bug that is causing them to not deep sleep when screen is off, causing poor standby performance. This is caused everytime you receive a VoiP call, so after you receive one, just restart the phone. Being caused a proximity sensor bug.
Try off Biscuitby feature

Try to wipe disable Google app and check battery consumption. If problem persists, try to wipe cache from recovery and if necessary do a factory reset, 30% battery drain in a night without network connections is not normal. If all attempts fail better go to Samsung assistance to change the battery
7hrs: 10% when sleep, wifi on. Not good but I think it is not too abnormal. I think, samsung still have a lot of bloatware!
But on screen I thnik is OK: 5-6h mixing, 3000mA battery on a strong SOC, it's normal. My back up Huawei GR5 2017, 3400mA, it is the same time!
This solution was posted on the S10 forum and certainly helped me.
There's a bug that stops the phone from going into a deep sleep mode post making a call (audio/video) on apps like WhatsApp, Skype et al. The solution for the time being is to reboot the phone once before going to bed. I tried a lot of other things but had a ~2% hourly standby drain which reduced to <5% overnight after figuring out this solution. I have both WiFi and Bluetooth on at night.
You may try to play around with the battery saving tweaks in ONE UI but nothing worked as well as this has. Hopefully there'll be a more practical fix to this soon.
Cheers!
Being as this affects voip calls, does this mean wifi calling is affected too? I mean, that's technically voice over IP.

I tried to debug battery drain using Battery Historian. I noticed that the phone does go to Doze mode completely, but for some reason, CPU stays awake. I'm still new to the tool, will try to find out more about why CPU is kept awake all the time.
I get battery drain regardless I make any VoIP call.
Another issue I noticed is PUBG lags horribly on the phone. I tried different combinations of graphics settings, the game was still lagging.
Just tried pubg...hdr +ultra runs ok for me. No lags, maybe sometime stutters for a sec.

For the first launch, the game runs very smoothly, lag starts after that. The more I play, the more lag I get.
Putting the phone on battery saver mode barely drains any juice (Medium Power Saving mode), seems like it's just a software issue and not hardware specific issue.
By the time Samsung releases any fix, we might have to live with this one.
Since the update this last day or so, my battery is lasting way better than previously.

Which region you are from? Is your phone unlocked? Is it Exynos based?

What update? Can you share the info that came with it? My SM-G970U1 is still on Feb. 1, 2019 patch. Although I don't have any problems with battery drain, pulled out two screenshots lately, both over about 12hrs period, one was with cellular radios on and the other just an airplane mode:
It's mostly Exynos people or the Sprint USA models \ service. No one else is having it really.
Got the March update. Exynos version. Battery drain seems a bit better at first glance. But it's not been long since the update. So not completely sure.
Got the phone today and the battery sucks lol and got an update today as well
My Snapdragon S10e never gets less than 4 hours of SoT under the heaviest use (I am constantly messing with settings, installing\closing\uninstalling apps, etc etc)
If I use it "regularly" just browsing Reddit and such, with a normal phone signal, I get 6 to 9 hours every time.
I don't use dark mode until Sunset.
I leave NFC/Bluetooth/Location on at all times.
